    Great computer for value

I've only had this computer for a few weeks, but so far it's exceeded expectations. I've previously only owned macbooks and needed a PC to run heavy excel models. It's very fast and I really like the keyboard. It's quite large as a tablet, but I still enjoy using it as one for reading longer documents. Touchscreen is also great. I was debating between this and a Microsoft Surface, and so far I don't know what offerings the surface would have to beat this value.

    Pen?

The ONLY reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because it didn't come with a pen. I got it yesterday and, of course with it being new, it works amazingly. Can someone please tell me what pens work with this specific model of the HP Envy x360? I don't want to buy one and it not work. Returning online orders is a pain in the butt. Thank you!

This laptop has been awesome for the price point! Love the bright display and easy biometric log on. The HDMI port and 2 USB ports are great. Fast, light and lean. Could do with a 1TB SSD drive upgrade though.

    Poor product, poor service

If I could do a lower rating, I would. I bought the 2020 version of this computer at Best Buy. The hinge broke about 3 weeks before the end of the warrantee (the piece that holds the screen to the laptop -- basically just came apart in my hands). I researched it only to find that this was an extraordinarily common issue with this laptop. I reached out and was told that while it was still under warrantee, I would need to relinquish it for 3 weeks while they evaluated it and, at that time, they would tell me whether this issue would be covered. They asked several questions, suggesting that they thought it might be my fault (despite the fact that if you google HP Envy and hinge, you will see thousands of problems cited). I refused because I couldn't do without the computer for that long, and continue to hobble along with it, although I cannot travel with it as it will not close. THEN, the service person tried to sell me an extension on the warrantee. I explained pointed out the warrantee had been so valueless that I didn't even take advantage of it when I had it. They yielded the point. My main issue is that they didn't own the problem at ALL, even though it was obviously a widespread manufacturing defect. Mistakes happen -- I would have been fine if the response was, "we've had a lot of issues with that, you're still under warrantee, we'll make this right." Instead, they asked foolish questions, e.g. had I dropped or stepped on the computer, and made it as difficult as possible to get it fixed. I will not buy another HP machine.

The battery kinda sucks, but hey you get what you pay for. Other than that everything else has been working fine. A good option for a college student who doesn't want to spend too much money.

    Worst Laptop I've Ever Had

    Posted .

Hasn't worked right since day one. Fingerprint scanner stopped working within the first month, it changes it's own settings and will bring itself out of sleep mode and will unmute and start blasting music and videos in the middle of the night at full volume. Randomly puts itself in tablet mode and won't come out of tablet mode. Overheats while it's in sleep mode to the point where it won't turn on and it smells like fire. I've taken it in to get it fixed and no one has been able to fix it - I've always gotten it back in the same condition with all of the same problems still there. Tried trading it in to get something else and it has a trade in value of $0. Best Buy doesn't even want this back. Don't waste your money. Get something else.

    Don't buy this Laptop

I have bought 2 of these laptops and will never buy a HP laptop again. The Hinge had an issue (May be stuck) and it eventually led to breaking the screen when you try to open the laptop. Both I bought had the exact same issue, I suspect there is an issue with the hinge design itself. And when you try to get the laptop fixed, the genuine HP parts (Screen and cover) does not have the camera hole cut to size, and you see a shadow on either side of the camera.

    Terrible experience with this laptop

    Posted .

I had issues with the internet connection when I firsr set up the laptop, but after updating the drivers, it got fixed. Unfortunately, two weeks later, the keys qweruiop and the up arrow just stopped working. I called Best Buy to return the laptop, but they told me that I couldn't return it because it had been 3 weeks since the purchase. I missed their 2 week return window. Therefore, I had to contact HP directly to have it fixed under the warranty. I spent hours and hours with HP trying to get it fixed. I kept getting disconnected so a new person would ask me the same questions and try to fix it the same way. It was so frustrating. They finally reset the laptop remotely and the keyboard issue still continued so they are shipping me a box to send the laptop back to them for repair. I have never had so many issues with a new laptop. I spent about 12 hours trying to fix it and talking to HP. Completely unacceptable. Either Best Buy or HP should have given me a full refund and/or exchanged the faulty laptop for a new one right away. I am very disappointed with their customer service.

Do not buy a HP 360

2 months after warranty expired, one of the hinges broke and I now have it in open position in a cardboard box to avoid further damage until I buy a new one (definitely not HP). I have never used it as a 360, only open/close as a laptop.

Stopped working after just 1 year

I bought one of this and it just stopped working after exactly 1 year for no reason. I used it the night before and when i woke up in the morning it was dead. Literally dead. I got another one while it was on offer and here we are. It works whenever it feels like it. The build quality feels expensive thus the 1 star otherwise DO NOT buy this if you hope to use it for more than 1 year
