Customers are pleased with the large screen size, ease of use, and performance of the ENVY 23.8" Touch-Screen All-in-One. Many appreciate the attractive design and the high-quality speakers. However, some experienced issues with the hard drive, and a few found the placement of the USB ports inconvenient. The touchscreen functionality also received positive feedback.

Not bad.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using an iMac and MacBook for about the last eight years, and thought it was a good time to go back to a Windows based product after our iMac faded away. Initial impressions were decent, and the reviews were mixed. We decided to go with this particular computer because it was a good buy on Black Friday. Set-up was fairly simple. Problems with keyboard connectivity and the computer reading key inputs from the keyboard were delayed. The first day, the problem was somewhat pronounced. The second day, symptoms decreased, but were still noticeable. I am thinking this is because the wireless keyboard is cheap...If so, this is a failure on HP's part. Why would you include a keyboard that does not function properly, it takes away from the whole package. Overall, the display is good, but you can see individual pixels if you look closely enough. I did have an issue with the display home screen. The home screen would partially pixelate to a blue screen with a structured pattern leaving the top inch of the desktop unchanged. This was very bothersome. I contacted HP via chat, they remotely controlled my computer, updated some drivers, and made some other changes. Hopefully this did the trick. I have not had any problems for the last hour or so. Other than this, the display is liked. As I explore this computer more, I am beginning to remember why I initially went to Apple. They are much more simple. I am fairly certain that after I get used to the new operating system, I will appreciate everything this computer has to offer. One thing I really like about this computer are the speakers, they are top notch for being built into the frame. Overall, this computer gets the job done, but in the future, if I have to keep upgrading and downloading, upgrading and downloading, I will think twice about staying with Windows....If I do not return this computer within the return window time frame.

A little buyer's remorse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will admit, I was swayed by the beauty of this screen and how nice the unit looked. It was more than I wanted to spend ($1000 at the time), but I wanted to have it for a long time, so I took the plunge. As I was running through the setup, I saw an iexplore.exe error. Then, once I started using the machine, I noticed the keyboard and mouse were very problematic. The keyboard would register several times for one keystroke and the was very laggy and jittery. I swapped out the mouse and keyboard with the one from my previous Dell and the problem was solved. I do plan on contacting HP about this issue and seeing if they will issue me a replacement, though in reading online, I don't sense that will fix the issue. The screen is GORGEOUS and huge. I love that. The display is pretty amazing. The speed seems to be OK. I will update this review if anything new crops up, but in reading the reviews, I'm starting to wonder if I should take this item back...

I really want to like, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It looked very nice in the store and IT LOOKS NICE at home. I bought it thinking this will be silent and speedy PC, but unfortunatelly - machine is constantly running a fan noise, not at maximum RPM but my guess at minimum speed, but still producing great amount of noise. Older ENVY model 23-o014 didn't have 6th gen CPU but at leat as I noticed wasn't so noisy. I really would love this piece to be silent on cpu idle when I'm reading or browsing, but what to do - it is always blowing good amount of noise. The other thing I did not like is that HP placed a simple 5400 1TB slow drive which makes you crazy to wait until you run anything. With such a nice CPU - transfer speed of data into memory is ridiculous. Basically hard drive is not utilizing machine power and making it 10x slower than would be with SSD and maybe 5x slower if it had SSD+HDD hibryd. Bad decision HP by saving $20 on this. Of course I could invest more and install SSD myself to fix this issue, but you want your all-in-one beauty to be silent and this one is not.

Absolutely love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fit perfectly on my desk - not too big, not too small. Extremely easy set up: plug it in, follow instructions on screen and DONE! Keyboard is a little too small and very sensitive. Only complaint.

Great computer, lousy keyboard and mouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an HP TouchSmart computer for sometime that was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 to Windows 10. It was running ok, but not great. I decided to get another computer that was Windows 10 from the start. I bought this one based on the specs. The computer is great, but the keyboard sucks. It's like a keyboard you would add as a tablet keyboard. Sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Sometimes it would repeat the pressed key. I finally took out the USB dongle from my older computer and used it and the older keyboard/mouse. For a computer costing $1k, I would have expected a better set of input devices. Otherwise the computer is great. It doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, but that is not a problem for me since almost all my software is downloaded now. I used to rip CDs and DVDs for inclusion in iTunes, but that is past history now

Not Much To Envy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was purchased as a Christmas present going from a dated Dell Inspiron Core i3 laptop to this. I thought it was going to be a fairly pleasant upgrade.....not so. Aside from the fact that this pc isn't much faster than my dated laptop, the experience I had with Best Buy after having purchased the "Excellent Condition" Open-Box version of this PC, was absolutely atrocious! The package was received incomplete and upon calling customer service, we were told numerous times that being that it was an Open-Box item, there was nothing they could do shy of sending it back and restarting the entire process only to MAYBE receive on time for the holidays. It was a cumbersome experience to say the least. I know this isn't billed as a top-of-the-line gaming rig, but given the price point and specs it does have, I was expecting just a tad more performance. All-in-all, this all-in-one PC isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Nice home computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the computer for 2 days and I find it easy enough for the most part. One area that HP could improve on is the placement of the memory card reader, headphone jack and HDMI ports for ease. Having them on the bottom makes it hard to see when hooking them up. Suggest moving to front panel or side panel on future models. This is the reason for the 4 star rating. Touch screen is OK, but I prefer to use the mouse and keyboard. Still getting used to Windows 10 after using Vista for years.

Returning this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like it, but it has too many issues. LOVE the display and the sound from the speakers. Keyboard and mouse are Horrible. Spent more $ to purchase a separate USB keyboard and mouse combo. Off and on system hangs, and finally today (day 8 after purchase), the wifi connection dropped and won't stay up. Unable to update the driver, system hangs. Uninstalling and returning while I still can.

I'm liking it so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wrote a previous review, when I'd had it for about 5 days, and only gave it 3 stars, but I've revised it up to 4, possibly even 4.5, now that I've had it about 10 days (I couldn't find the previous review, for some reason). It is no faster than my previous Dell (which crashed) and the graphics aren't better, but in both cases, they are just as good as the Dell, which is very good. I had said in the previous review that it was rather slow, but I've found that's no longer true. I do have to say that I really don't like the keyboard and mouse that came with it (both wireless), and so I went back to using a Logitech keyboard and mouse that I had with the Dell, and which I just love. (I used to have a Mac, and found I didn't like the "Magic" mouse that came with it, either, and also bought a Logitech that time.) I don't care for HP support so far, as they have not answered either of my emails explaining why the HP support pop-up says I have just 8 months on my warranty... I just bought this on 1/31/17 so I should have almost a year at this point. I'm going to have to break down and call them, but I'm not holding my breath on them answering. So, good graphics, good speed, very stylish, and I love the stand which is actually two legs instead of the one "kick-stand" on the Dell which was never stable. So far, I'm glad I bought this HP desktop.

Nice potential, can't use it though
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much like many other negative users reviews, my keyboard and mouse do not work. I'm unable to get the mouse to track evenly, nor can I get the keyboard to type, type the right letters in order, or not type the same letters over several times like they keys are stuck. The dongle isn't the issue, as stated previously, the dongle that the package says is in the box, is actually installed in the back of the computer behind the panel. The keyboard and mouse issues seem to be a connectivity issue, and no matter how close I have the mouse and keyboard it doesn't fix the issue. My last issue, which really isn't an issue but more of an annoyance, the legs are fixed and not adjustable to level the screen. Pros, nice look, good size screen, speakers work well, the touch screen is nice.

Bummer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s was great until it slowed down and got the blue screen of death. Unfortunately there was no fix due to its structure being an all in one.

Not so great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the big screen - but that's about all I can say that's good about it. Runs very slow, the keyboard needs time to "warm up" before working properly & the 0 on the side keyboard is in a weird place so I constantly have to adjust for that. The wireless mouse is absolutely useless - had to replace that with another one. The other day the screen flipped upside down without anyone even working at it. I'm really disappointed in it.

So disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My original HP all-in-one died. I wanted to replace it with a similar new machine. So I chose this model. I noticed it had a few glitches and figured maybe compatibility issues. No worries...then within three days of purchase it crashed. I reset it back to factory settings. Things seemed better. Then little by little, it got worse and worse. It wouldn't shut off, it wouldn't turn on. Then my internet just went away. So I exchanged it (which went amazingly well, kudos to Best Buy, this was painless). I wanted this machine to work for me so badly I got the exact same machine. I started it up, got connected to the internet, checked for HP updates, downloaded them, then my Wi-Fi went away. I went through all possible avenues to get things up and running. I use Wi-Fi due to living in a 1960's something house, that is not wired conveniently for modern life. I am not going to try anything else with this particular model. I am uncertain also of Windows 10, it's beautiful and I liked it better than 8, BUT. So tomorrow, I will be off to Best Buy to try and find another model of some sort.

Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in need of a desktop and decided on the all in one. This desktop has everything I need and I purchased it when on sale! It does not come with a cd/dvd drive so have to puchase one separately.

Worth the money?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm wondering if dropping $799+tax ($50) was actually worth it for this PC. It seems to be a regular mid to lower end pc in my honest opinion (tad on the slow end for being 8g). After reading reviews, which most were 5*, I decided to go for it. I read in reviews from months ago that most people found that the wireless receiver was nowhere to be found in the packaging and figured that months later this issue would be corrected.I was wrong. Nowhere to be found which is a bummer since HP went cheap and included a wireless keyboard and mouse (so the receiver is pretty necessary). Though it shouldn't have been necessary I luckily had a Logitech receiver which works with the keyboard and mouse. After activating the mouse I quickly disconnected it and plugged in my old USB mouse. The wireless mouse that came with the PC is garbage. The keyboard will be replaced ASAP as well. Another garbage accessory from HP included with this PC. Do not buy this PC unless you are aware that you will be replacing both the mouse and the keyboard. If you buy it, you will understand why before the PC is even done with the setup process. I'm pretty disappointed since I always had high expectations of HP and was never once let down until now. PS - Not at all impressed with the built in speakers either. Buyer Beware!

buy something else !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the envy 24 inch 5 months. Since then I have had keyboard failure. Keyboard and mouse were replaced. Of the eight gb only four are available because the machine has notification systems and apts to use memory. Freezeups are frequent.
