Odd sounds and lights instead of fast printing

This is a strange printer. The controls on the front consist of only 3-4 'buttons' that don't say what they do. It's not that it's not easy to use, it's just that they don't have many options other than number of copies and to stop copying. It takes forever to start printing and has this ridiculous light inside of it that swirls and twirls and then the printer makes odd noises and chirps and whistles. Who needs a concert and light show, just start printing! The print quality is fair, nothing like my old HPs which worked without fuss and were much better than their new machines. I also prefer black to this off white nonsense. On the plus side the plastic is thick and sturdy, but I'm looking for an alternative at this point. Considering Epson

      Hi, Steve.

I’m sorry to learn that you’re not satisfied with your printer. I can certainly understand why substandard print quality, unexplained delays in print jobs, and odd noises and lights would add up to a poor start to ownership. I want to help you remedy whatever issues you can and get the most from the device, so I’ll direct you to some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in a guide on our support site to improving print quality. Issues covered include color or black ink not printing properly or at all, faded or streaked prints, and blurred or fuzzy text. Find that guide here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_6184938-6184919-16

For additional help with difficulties, or to learn more about your printer and all its features, you can access troubleshooting guides, how-to documents, user manuals and software updates here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/model/2100187510

If print quality does not improve to your satisfaction – and for input on the delays you describe – I suggest that you contact our support department directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Love this printer! So easy and convenient. App is easy as well. Haven’t had any issues. It’s fairly quiet and I love the 2-sided printing. Ink isn’t too expensive. It’s a keeper.

Setup was easy at first but imagine reconnecting to a whole network.. Forget it. I dislike this printer a lot. Setting up is horrible. I will always get not connected to internet but the printed information says connected to the internet…. I’ve watched YouTube videos, contacted HP and I’m following all their steps and nothing.

I was living in the dark ages with a 13 year-old printer. When it died, I had to find another and this one is great. I have no complaints and it works perfectly. Wish I'd bought it sooner.

Happy We Found this Gem of a Printer

When our old printer stopped working and the replacement part was almost as much as a new printer, we sadly had to buy something new. We have always like the HP brand and looked to purchase the same printer. With an immediate need and COVID forcing many to work from home we had trouble finding a printer in stock, so we downsized from a larger printer to this great little gem. In all, we didn't miss a beat. Quality great, speed a little less than we were used to, but we are happy. It's nice, compact, great quality, wireless! Scans, Prints and Copy's - Set up was a breeze.

To be honest, I’m not a huge fan. I felt like connecting it to my phone and then other devices that I wanted to print wasn’t as easy as I thought. Then once I got it connected, it would give me trouble to print. I definitely feel like you can get a easier one for a couple more dollars.

This is the first photo printer I have ever owned. I love the convenience of it. It will be good for small projects. The photo does not print as clearly as I would like and the color is not exact. I do not think it would be good for large printing projects. But overall I am happy with it for small projects.

Never worked right. Shut off numerous times. HP reps on line or phone could not help me fix it. One HP rep ripped me off for $157 to say he fixed it…..NOT! HP kept blaming Spectrum, which it wasn’t. Geek squad recommended returning it. I purchased Epson printer next. We’ll see how that goes. Hey, spent over a month and a scam to get this thing working, so nobody can say I didn’t try. The last HP printer worked like a charm and I liked the idea HP would send me the ink cartridges in the mail. Different story after 8 years ago.
