I have some complaints about this printer

Printing/scanning quality is quite satisfactory. My main complaint is about the lack of documentation included in the package. The printer does not come with a printed manual and you have to pretty much figure out the installation/set-up by yourself. Another minor complaint is the location and ease of operation for the power switch, which is located at the back and I would have preferred a simple flip switch instead of a button that I have to keep pressing for an undefined amount of time. The third complaint would be the HP Smart app, which is required to operate the printer, but it fails to recognize the printer status correctly most of the time. Fourth, I would have liked to see an USB connector included in the package, in case I did not have access to a good Wi-Fi connection.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has caused you such inconvenience. I can wholly understand why issues related to instructional materials, the power switch, software performance and the lack of a USB cable would make for a pretty disappointing start to owning a new printer. With that in mind, I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will help.

First, to learn more about your printer and all its features, or for help solving problems, you can access a setup tutorial, user manuals, how-to documents, software updates and troubleshooting guides here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-6000-all-in-one-printer-series/29256672/model/30153277

For advice on the software issue – and if you need assistance in any other area – I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Printer rarely connects to WiFi so impossible to print. HP does not have reasonable automated support. Have spent many days trying to get the printer to connect to WiFi and none of the troubleshooting options work.

I got it for the print outs that I will be doing for home schooling and it is clear and sharp and the ink doesn’t bleed. And the quality would be up there that I would be comfortable printing my own photos using photo paper.

    Decent Hardware Ruined by Bloatware

The physical printer is sleek and works fine...if you can set it up. It's utility is ruined by the fact it's software is ad filled bloatware that keeps trying to sell ink at every turn and is needlessly complicated. It feels like an App developer who worked in social media was tasked with setting up printer software without quite grasping how printers are supposed to work. I have to fully reinstall the software and set up the printer every time I use it, Part of the set up process involves printing pages of instructions...so you will need paper and ink erven if you are just using it to scan. You cab not use this printer if you do not have a computer with a USB port, functioning WiFi, paper, ink, and software installation privileges on the computer you are using it with. Avoid it if you urgently need reliable printing or if information security is important to you.

      Hi, Ed.

Thanks for the review and the feedback. While I’m glad that you like the printer’s form factor and general performance, I’m sorry to hear that the software has caused you such inconvenience. I can certainly understand why reinstalling the device each time you want to use it would quickly become infuriating. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll suggest a resource I hope will accomplish that goal.

I can’t tell from your review why the software has performed in the way you describe, so I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. It has worked great since the day we got it. Easy hook up and the HP app works great. We have not had the usual issues that creep up with other printers and use it on a fairly regular basis.

A nice printer that does it all: prints, scans and copies. The quality is very nice. One gripe...pairing it up with my HP laptop was a pain. Following the instructions, it too ALOT of effort to get it connectes.

So far I love my HP-Envy 6055. The only problem I had was connecting the HP to my internet.... and to my laptop. Thankfully after few tries and with the help of my teenager I finally got connected. Not sure if the automatic ink when running low I'm on the auto ship. I had to order the black ink but it wasn't automatic. If something happens with the HP... I just unplug and re plug and the printer starts printing again.

Its a printer that works as it should. Quality of documents and photos is better than I expected. Utilizing the apps that are required to for operation can be mildly stressful but otherwise unproblematic once you get the hang of it. The printing itself isn't loud by any means but it's not silent either. Would recommend if you need one for school or basic use.
