I do not like the HP Envy 6055. I lose connection all the time and even purchased an extender, that did not help. I will never buy a HP again and ink is very expensive.

I needed a new printer for personal use. I don’t print a lot but I think it uses too much ink. I already had to buy 2 new cartridges. Ink is going to be more expensive than the printer.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has used ink more rapidly than you’d anticipated. I can certainly understand why needing to buy replacement cartridges sooner than you’d thought would be an unwelcome surprise. I want to help you resolve the issue if you can, so I’ll provide some clarifying information and resources I hope will help.

First, I can’t tell from your review how long you’ve had the printer, how many pages you’ve printed or how that compares with the ink cartridges’ estimated page yield. The XL cartridges for your printer have estimated yields of 200 to 240 pages, and the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages.

If your results differ dramatically from that, here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, I recommend that you contact the seller who sold you the items.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within their “warranty ends” date). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer “park” so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If you believe the situation requires further investigation, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

      Hi there.

Thanks for the review and feedback. While I’m glad to hear that your printer worked well for about a month, I’m sorry to hear that it started rendering prints of poor quality and eventually stopped working. It’s easy to see why that would be phenomenally disappointing, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

      Hi, Zacc.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has rendered prints of poor quality. I can certainly see how disappointing that must be, considering you got the printer in order to write letters to people during the stay-at-home restrictions associated with the pandemic. I would love to help you get the device printing without the smudges you describe, so I’ll offer some resources aimed at achieving that.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including streaked or faded prints, and blurred or fuzzy text:

I purchased this after having a deskjet model for 8 or 9 years with no issues. This printer was only functional for a few days before it kept jamming. I continuosly followed the troubleshooting steps to take out any ripped or jammed pages (underneath and while removing the interior unit). It proceeded to still get stuck and was ultimately returned. Not impressed with the overall quality.

I will start with the part of the unboxing that in my opinion is very simple and easy, it doesn't require too much effort or more than one person to unpack the printer, in fact it comes in a bag with handles to pull out the printer without problem, thanks HP. Once the printer has been unpacked, the first thing is to have the HP smart app installed and a Wi-Fi connection to set up the printer, I must say that although the app takes a little time to configure the new printer, it fulfills its purpose excellent. Through the app you can basically do everything you need, from creating an account if you don't have one to the final point where the first test sheet is printed. This printer is designed mainly for places where many printing is not required and very fast, it is more for the home or where it is not so frequent to print, it can print documents either in color or black and white. The above brings me to one of the points that most attracts my attention and that is the ink, since when buying the printer you can activate HP Instant Ink 6 months for free, which offers the shipment of new ink cartridges every time the system detects that the current ink is about to finish, you can choose different packages depending on how many impressions are made on average per month, honestly is something great and you can cancel at any time or continue and pay a price that I consider is more convenient than buying cartridges in others shops separately, simply something designed for the benefit of the customer. Regarding the performance I could notice that the prints may take a few seconds but it is not too long, the ink adheres completely to the paper, in my opinion it prints quite well and meets my expectations. In addition to the above, it is worth mentioning that you can scan and copy but the most interesting thing is that you can connect with other mobile devices wirelessly and be able to print from practically anywhere with the HP smart app, the app has many options which can be customized for a best experience, I can highly recommend this printer if it is required for a more domestic and not so demanding use, and absolutely subscribing to HP Instant Ink is a plus that cannot be missed.

This is a very cheap design. It comes with no manual and you have to use an app to set it up. I wanted to change the network and found there was no way to do it. I wasted half an hour with HP tech support and they could not do it either. He had me pressing random buttons and going around in circles. There is no screen, only buttons that may or may not be lit up. It went back to the store.

Set up was actually a breeze and I did the mobile ap at the same time as I set up my computer. Either I am getting more tech savvy or someone finally made this simple! Anyway, this printer has a light, not just a dummy light, but an actual light at the tray that changes with the status. When its ready to go, a soft blue light is showing, open the tray- even a little bit- and a yellow light shows. When its working it is a white light. The quality of the prints and scans is perfect. I was impressed at the printing from my phone- just being able to do that is amazing! My biggest beef with this printer is the noise. Start up sounded like a bunch of plastic parts clunking together. My last printer did as well, but after 5 years of technology growth I had hoped that would change.

On 11/11/20 purchased new Envy 6055 from Best Buy. 35 40 days later it quit after an hour or more time with a technician with no help. I was told to return it. The Geek squad soon found that it had a broken part. A week later a new printer arrived. Again I needed a tech. help. Some place my credit card shows a big bill. As for the printer is slipped back to the stone age compared to the HP printer i had for several years.
