I did not try for a third. I moved onto another model. I chose HP again for the third try because I ordinarily have good luck with the brand. I will assume this 6055 was not robust enough for my master's work AND lesson work AND personal needs.

      Hi, Samson.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has rendered prints slowly and that it has performed unreliably. I can understand why that would be quite a frustrating combination, so I’ll offer some suggestions I hope you’ll find helpful.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including setup and connectivity. There you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Next, I suggest that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system:
      - Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
      - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898

If there's any specific way that we can help you, I hope you’ll get in touch with us directly for support. We're always here and would be more than happy to help you make the most of your experience with the printer. On our site you can get help from a virtual agent, search our extensive knowledge library or check your printer’s warranty status. Get in touch via this link: support.hp.com

An excellent little printer. This is my second one of this series. It fits well on my desk, has a low profile. Printing is clear. HP instant ink saves a lot of time. Quality of print is good. Setup was a breeze.

Just received my HP Envy 6055 printer to test out. First off this printer is a little different from printers that I've tested in the past. Instead of coming with ink for up to a year or 2 (which most printer manufacturers have switched to this type of model), it come with a standard amount of ink; this is with HP's hopes that you would sign up for their 2 month ink subscription program which is supposed to send you out new ink every 2 months or so. This may be customized, however, I didn't sign up for it as I don't do entirely that much printing on a monthly basis. However, this printer is very basic, but also very user friendly and easy to use. Upon unboxing the printer, you will find the power cord, and 2 ink cartridges (tri-color & black). After removing all of the blue packaging tape from the printer, first you insert the power cord to the back of the printer and then into a socket. The printer then greets you with a cool light beam under the front of the printer where the paper is fed out through. Next, you must download the HP Smart App from either the App Store on iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices. Once downloaded, the app will guide you through the rest of the setup process for the printer, including connecting to your home network. NOTE: this only allows you to print from your mobile devices (such as you phone and/or tablet). To print from other devices such as your laptops or desktops you must download and install software from HP's site at 123.hp.com. The app will guide you to printing out an alignment page and then instructs you to open up the lid and scan the alignment page. On the bottom right panel next to printer drawer is a 6 button panel. And that's pretty much it. I did a few test runs of printing photos from my iPhone via the HP Smart App and AirPrint. Initial prints of my photos included streaks through the pictures but after a couple more test runs the streaks were gone. This will be a great printer for those that do occasional printing; I say that due to heavier printing will require you signing up for the 2 Month Ink subscription program. As I stated before, most manufacturers have changed over to including enough ink for a year or more depending on how often you and/or your family prints. Nonetheless, this will make a great printer for someone in high school who has to printer their essays, versus someone who is in college that will printing a lot more.

The product did not work well. Even with a strong connection to the internet it kept disconnecting. I was disappointed and returned it. HP products seem to be troublesome in my only opinion. And using it was difficult with no 800# call line for assistance, nothing available.

Awful printer. Works half the time. Paper jams frequently, the app is clunky and uninformative. There is no display so you have to rely on the app which only tries to sell you ink subscriptions. Forget about tech support, virtually non-existent, literally.

The HP Envy 6055e is a great all-in-one printer. It was extremely easy to setup. It was one of the easiest printers to setup using WiFi with my smartphone. Many printers I’ve had over the was a hassle trying to get it setup and connected to my WiFi. This was one a breeze. The HP Smart app takes you step-by-step throughout the entire setup process, and everything was easy to follow. Print quality is good and scan quality as well. It added a nice touch with sound effect chimes and a glowing LED light right about the paper tray. I’m unable to dim or brighten the LED light through the app, but I have not found a way to turn the LED light off all together. It can make for a great night light, but I’d rather have it completely off. It also comes with a 6 month trial of Instant Ink. Overall, I’m impressed and hope to get a lot of use out of it.

      Hi, Jody.

I’m sorry you’ve had difficulty using your printer, and that it has experienced frequent paper jams. It’s easy to understand why the unreliability you describe would make for a poor start to owning a device. I’d love to help you get the printer working to your satisfaction, so I’ll point you toward some resources aimed at achieving that.

First, I recommend going through the steps to clearing and avoiding paper jams that you’ll find in this troubleshooting guide on our support site:

You can visit another page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity, which might play a part in the lack of reliability. On the same page you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. Visit that page here:

This printer is perfect for a small office or home use. The footprint is very compact allowing it to fit in my little office nook. The print quality is fantastic for color and black and white. The images and lettering are very crisp and clear. The pages print quickly, and it does two-sided very easily. Set up is very easy and intuitive. I like the option to print through wifi or Bluetooth. I really like the HP+ ink system. It allows you to set up automatic ink replacement shipments directly to you with different plans suited for your needs. I hate going to the store and trying to find the particular size/type ink that I let run out and need immediately. This way you never find yourself out of ink. They provide return envelopes for you to send your empty cartridges back which is great for the environment.
