I jumped at the chance to get my hands on this printer. We also have a bigger brother in the 6000 series and have just loved it. The 6055e is not a let down here. I wanted a printer for my teenage sons’ room in the hopes to promote higher education activities with regards to school. Out of the box the unit is super sleek. I am a fan of HP's reimaged sleek and modern vibe this printer has. The color is Bright white with a hip glossy finish. But the differentiator for this line though has to be the cool what I call RGB / mood light effect the unit has. Very Cool and fits in his room nicely since he already has the LED strips and RGB everything. The HP+ & Smart app are super helpful since the printer will not be monitored by me as heavily because I do not have this printer in my office. I can rest assured that I will not be making late night rushes to find printer ink that he conveniently forgot was out but that he has to have to print his project materials (this is basically a real thing that happened previously). I can also have peace of mind that I get an extra year of warranty since it is a boy’s room. I think the SMART app by HP is a sleeper and most people do not realize how good it actually is. I recently scanned several documents to myself. I was then able to view, edit, email, and or a bunch of other things right from the app and then was able to email them to my CPA from the app as well. We did use the printer to complete a posterboard project which made for a great chance to test speed, color quality, and photo quality. As for speed, the printer is meant for home personal use and not an office. not to say that it could not be used for an office the recommended number of processes in a month though is 1,000 so be mindful of that. But the speed is very much above adequate and prints at a reasonable rate. The color quality is good, but you can tell it is an inkjet printer. The photo quality is maybe not frame worthy but very much school project worthy. All-in-all we are incredibly happy to have this All-in-one.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has not scanned like it should and has used ink so rapidly. It’s easy to understand why that would be a frustrating start to owning a new printer, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including scanning issues. - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Next, I can’t say what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less yet than ones in our Instant Ink program. A third possibility is the printer is not reading the cartridges correctly and is giving an inaccurate reading.

Regardless, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. There is nothing particularly exceptional about this printer. It keeps a low profile and essentially does what it's supposed to do. When I did some initial test photo prints, the results were terrible: clear lines, smudges, etc. But these were on non-HP branded photo paper. When I tried them on actual HP photo paper, the results were so much better! If I looked closely, I could still see some lines, but they really aren't noticeable at a normal distance. With proof-level printing, it's even better (at the expense of using alot more ink). I've also printed color documents on normal plain paper: the output wasn't as crisp, but this may also be a function of the quality of paper you use. About the ink: Printing high-quality photos will drain the ink cartridges (especially the color one) pretty quickly. It may be useful to use HP's In-Ready subscription service to save $$$, but you should research the benefits vs. costs/risks of that. Although I would say that if you want to make photo-quality prints frequently, perhaps a printer geared toward that would be a better choice. This printer seems geared more to "general purpose." One other strange thing is that the printer didn't come with a USB cable. It looks like HP really wants to move people to wireless printing - and frankly, in that area, this has been great! I've printed some nice stuff from my phone, laptop, via email, etc. It all worked wonderfully. If you want moderate-use basic color printing with reasonable quality, this is a good pick. I wouldn't say that's the case for more professional needs.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your printer has started rendering prints of such poor quality. It’s easy to see why that would be quite an unwelcome surprise at any time, but especially when the printer is less than a year old – and after you’ve done extensive troubleshooting. Hi, Susie.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has limited the margins of print jobs to one inch when you use the two-sided printing feature. Received my HP Envy 6055e unit a week ago and have been testing it out. This printer is pretty much self explanatory. Not a lot of bells and whistles which is great for a lot of people. Inside the box along with the printer is the power cord, ink cartridges, and user documentation. Getting started is fairly simple. Just plug in the printer, wait for the purple light, inset paper, and then your cartridges. Once everything is installed, you must download the HP Smart app to continue the setup process. During this time, the HP Smart app (available via the App Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android) will automatically connect you to your local WiFi network. It will also allow you to update the firmware of the printer once everything is up and running smoothly. The entire process took me no longer that 6 minutes if that. It printed out the initial test page for me, the instructed me to scan the test page. All of which turned out fine. Just remember that you have to use the HP Smart app to continue finishing the setup process. You can also sign up for HP+ in the HP Smart which gives users a host of other options from ordering ink, etc. If you have an iPhone, most likely you can just AirPrint anything from your iPhone or you can use the HP Smart app. The app allows you to resize, rotate, flip, sharpen, add filters, etc. to your photos or documents before sending them to the printer. I recommend this printer to anyone starting college or is in high school. It would also be great for a small home office, where printing is done occasionally. For a more full feature proof printer, I would recommend others to look at more higher end printers (like laser jet printers). But this printer works just as good and prints fast also.

      Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear that your printer is not working like it should. Your review is short, but your frustration is clear – and understandable – so I’ll suggest some resources that I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review why your printer won’t set up or work, so I suggest you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Cant get it set up. There is no lcd screen. It comes with no instructions. There are no obvious buttons. This is absurd.
