A very nice compact printer with some scanning ability. It can do two-sided printing. Very easy set-up. The scanner only does single sheets with full scan bed or letter size areas. Printing and scanning are simple with HPSmart.

Printer works great. My only complaint is that the plug in doesn't fit more snugly. It seems to come unplugged when moving the printer or bumping it.

I've had the opportunity to try out this printer for a few weeks now, and it does its job. It prints things out. Quality is good. The form factor is actually smaller and sleeker than other printers so it looks aesthetically pleasing. It's also smart. I've owned many printers that have had a touch screen that responds very slowly. Now with the HP Smart app, you can download it to your phone and use it with your printer. Make sure that you use "admin" as the default username, and the PIN will be found inside of the printer where you put ink cartridges. The one thing I'm not a fan of in general is the Instant Ink platform. It's like a subscription based service for ink like it's Netflix. I honestly won't be printing things as much as when members of the household were in school. Printing nowadays is mainly just used for printing out gift certificates or coupons that need to be presented in store.

Easy set up. Great printing. I did watch the set up video and did one step at a time since I had heard reviews about problems with connecting to wifi etc. Th HP App works great from my iPhone and iPad.

This was an upgrade to my existing HP Envy 4500 that I've had for years. That printer still worked, but would no longer connect to Wifi with the new mesh system due to the Wifi standards changing. So far I am very happy with the new Envy 6055! This is my 3rd HP printer in 18 years and the only reason I've ever had to get a new one is that they end up being out of date after 6-7 years as technology improves. They all still worked when I upgraded, so that's more about me wanting new features than a problem with the printers. In my experience, HP printers are good quality for the value and this new Envy 6055 seems to have been built in that same mold. If you're coming from another HP printer like I am, you'll already be used to the HP Smart app and the controls. If you're new to HP, you'll want to download the app before you setup the printer because you'll need it to complete the setup process. The setup was very quick and easy. After unboxing and getting all the tape off, I plugged it in. When the light glows Purple, you're ready to setup. Open the app, connect to the printer and it does most of the work for you. You'll need to install the 2 ink cartridges that are included in the box and it walks you through that as well with pictures. Connecting to the Wifi was easy and everything was up and running within about 5 minutes of plugging it in. The new design is nice with an all white look that is more modern and hopefully won't show fingerprints and dust as much as the older, all black plastic printers did. I like the tray setup for the paper but wish it had a little more capacity. Not a deal breaker for me as we don't do a ton of printing but it might be an issue for heavy users. All of the "buttons" are capacitive, meaning they are a flat area on the tray and the area you touch lights up when you need to do something. Nice and sleek. You can go into the settings through the app and adjust the brightness of the lights. I noticed that the Wifi light stays on all the time so if that's going to bother you, you'll need to turn the printer off when not in use. Printing quality is excellent for a home printer, especially at this price point. Scanning works well, just be aware there is no "feed" option for scanning. It has to be done one page at a time or one photo at a time, but the app can walk you through scanning so the pages end up in the order you want within one document. Again, not a problem for the amount I use the scanner, but power users might want an option with a feed so they don't have to do things one at a time. This printer also comes with 2 months free of HP Instant Ink. If you're not familiar, this is a subscription service where your printer will automatically tell HP when it's running low based on your usage and ink will be mailed to you. There are different levels of subscription depending on your usage and it makes it much cheaper than buying ink at the store. There is even a FREE option if you print less than 15 pages a month. So if you are looking for a printer for light home use and want free ink for the life of the printer, this is a really nice offer from HP. The app itself could use some updating and I'd like to see HP put some effort into that now that almost everything is done through the app. It's a bit wonky and sometimes you have to click through a few different areas to find what you need, but overall it works. It's just not as smooth as it should be by this point. Overall, I really have no complaints with this printer that would keep me from recommending it to family or friends. If you're looking for a good, all around 3 in 1 unit that won't break the bank and offers plenty of features and good quality printing while looking great in your home or office, I definitely recommend the Envy 6055.

I have had this for almost 3 years now and it’s really been working great I’m really happy with it and it does everything that it says. I can’t wrap my head around the ink subscription or how that works but I honestly don’t care, I always have ink for such a cheap price and never have to run to the store. this purchase really saved me while I was in college! and continues to save me.

I just unboxed this and set it up. I like the small profile of this printer, and the price was right. Had a little difficulty getting it to connect with my wi fi. I stuck with it and after about 90 minutes I was ready to print. I still need to trying scanning and copying. I would like to see an instruction booklet included, but I was able to navigate the online process successfully.

Unboxed the HP Envy 6055e and this is what I found. The box contains the unit, 2 ink cartridges (black and tricolor), and a power cord. There were a couple of setup guides, but having the HP Smart application already installed, I just needed to add a printer. That said, I decided to try and add it to my Mac Mini late 2014 I5. I have HP installed with 4 printers on all my Windows machines, but I never got around to adding them to the Mac. This review seemed like a good day to get them all connected to it. I fired up the Mac Mini and opened the app store. Typed in HP and the first one was the Smart app. It took a bit to download it, must have been server issues somewhere down the “pipe” as that senator called it years ago, lol. Once it dl’ed and installed, I opened the app and it found the printer…easy peasy, right? Nope, the network and the Mini saw the printer, but the app just wouldn’t connect. I tried several times and finally just entered the IP address to get it to show the printer on the install screen. Even that took 2-3 attempts before getting the icon to click. Once that was done though, it worked well. I was able to add the printer. When the option to add HP+ appeared, I chose not to join as I have many printers and I never use any of them for big tasks. I chose to skip, and the HP Smart app errored out. Figures. I fired it up again, thinking I’d have to go through that mess again, but a screen came up and said it was good to go. Yeah, no. I clicked final and print the page and it bounced back to the HP+ screen. Man, they really want me to join. I declined again and this time it went through the screens and finished. So, all in all, the mac software is just clunky. It works, you just need patience. I stepped over to the Surface Book 3 and clicked add the printer and it completed the install, step by step with no hiccup. When I went into the office and added it to my Windows desktop, it just added it without any issues. I was logged in to my HP account on all 3 computers and it just installed it and said it’s ready for use. As for the unit. This is really a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth printer. It doesn’t have a LAN port, so no wired connection. There is a USB port on the back, but I think that’s just in case. Really, it’s for connecting any of your devices that need to print and that works. Print speed isn’t anything to brag about. Up to 10ppm black and up to 7ppm color. The scanner works well. I had to print the alignment page and scan it before the unit was ready to print. The scanner warmed up quickly and scanned the page with no issues. The paper tray only holds 100 sheets, so expect to be filling it up often. I can only make 9 copies at a time, so if your needs are greater than that, you might want to look at a little higher price point. The edge light bar works as an indicator of an issue or job in the process, but it is annoying. So far, I discovered you can go into printer settings and use the auto-shutoff feature or power management to reduce the time it stays lit/on. HP should give the user the option to shut it off as needed. Many times printers are in areas that we sleep or rest in and the glow of all the electronics in our homes is too much. I don’t understand why anyone needs to buy a nightlight anymore. The glow of blue, green, red, even white is just indoor pollution. So, what do I think about this printer? It’s nice and compact. It’ll print small jobs very well and it looks like it can do decent photos, although it may use up a lot of ink, something this little dude doesn’t have. The downside is its pretty low end, great for a small family or business, but a busy office or buying for growth may make you want to look at a better option. IMHO, this is a great student or small home office printer. Anything more than that and I’d spend a few more dollars and get a better all-in-one.

Very easy setup via the HP app. Utilizing the scanner for printhead alignment is a pretty neat trick. If you print a lot the auto ink program seems like a good deal and you get six months for free. I, however, only print one or two pages every couple of months and most of my use from this will be the scanner for digitizing receipts and the like. The design and lighting effects make it feel very premium. I also like that the paper tray is on the bottom of the device yet it is still relatively compact.
