    HP Wireless Printer

This wireless printer is very easy to set up and use. Also, if you subscribe to HP's ink program, you never have to worry about running out of ink, because the ink levels are monitored remotely and you receive new cartridges before you run out of ink. Scanning is much easier; after you scan a page, you have an option to keep scanning or save what you have already scanned.

I really love this printer. It is a beautiful piece of equipment and although I am in really bad health at 86 yrs old, I still needed a new one since the old HP Envy,at 10 yrs old, had given up. Then I bought a new HP Celeron computer and the pair look splendid together.

For an inexpensive printer, the quality is all that I hoped for, and more. It also is attractive in appearance.

prints fine, could not connect with app

I would like to give this printer two scores, one for its performance as a printer and the other for the so-called ease of setup wirelessly. As a printer, it’s fine. I connected it to my computer via a USB cable (something you are specifically asked NOT to do in the setup process—there’s even a piece of tape covering the USB port), and it printed just fine from the computer. I would give it five stars here. It also worked just fine as a scanner. But I would give it zero stars for ease of connection using the HP app you’re supposed to download to your phone. This is the FIRST thing you’re supposed to do after doing nothing more with the printer than plugging it and turning it on. The first thing the app tells you is to make sure the printer is ON and that it is CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK. What? When, in the process, did it tell me to connect it to the network? It didn’t. So the printer, obviously, was not connected to the network, and the phone, to no great surprise, could not find it. And that was it. No help from the app to fix the problem. No instruction anywhere on how to connect the printer to the wireless network. There is no diplay on it or anything like that, so the presumption is that you connect it to the network through some process involving the app. But I could find nothing. Calls to HP were of no help. I was passed around to four different people, the last of which had me install the “HP Printer Server Plug-In.” But even that didn’t allow me to connect the printer to the network because at no time was I ever asked to input a wireless network password. The plug-in said that the printer was connected, but it was not. So I gave up. I use the printer through the USB connection, and it works fine, so I’m happy as a clam in that regard. But the wireless setup ultimately failed. Also, inexplicably, I couldn’t even register the printer to my previously set up HP account, so I’m not able to make use of the HP+ feature giving me six months of free ink. Buy this printer/scanner if you need a good printer/scanner and don’t care if you can’t control it from or print from your phone. Good luck if you try to set it up wirelessly.

I have no tech skills and it was super easy to set up and I was printing right away. Learned to scan as well. It does only take one sheet at time for scan but I don’t do much so okay for me. Great home machine. Can’t comment on ink value yet, but did one color chart and it was perfect.

Easy to set up and use. Free ink did not work so I was forced to purchase ink after first black cartridge ran out which was very fast. If you do a lot of printing, don't count on the "free" ink provided. Buy cartridges to replace the ones in the printer upon its arrival.

HP ENVY series - simple and reliable

Personally I would pay a little more for a different series, but the HP Envy series has always been reliable, including this one. The main complaint I have had for printers in general, but what I have found for the ENVY series, is that it seems like it uses a lot of ink. I cannot back up this claim with any specific data of how many pages I print per amount of ink used. But if ink pricing isn't an issue, there's really nothing wrong with the printer. It's a smaller form factor than other HP printers and does the job that it's supposed to do. I'm pretty happy that with newer printers coming out, they still can use the same HP 67 ink like with this printer, so if you have older HP 67 ink cartridges, you can still use them if they're not dried out.

    Buyer beware! Love-hate relationship!

I've had more trouble with this printer than any other I've ever owned, from the beginning - day one. It's turned into a love hate relationship - I love when it works, but is it EVER FRUSTRATING when it doesn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which happens way too often! It fails to communicate with my Chromebook for no obvious reason. I've wasted so much time watching videos and trying to figure out why it won't play nice with my computer. Unplugging it repeatedly often works. The wireless never did work well, so I have it connected via a cable. Good luck if you choose to buy it.

HP Envy 6055e I think has been the fastest wireless set up I’ve had for a printer. It comes with 6 months of instant ink, pictures I printed on photo paper came out Awesome. Color printed great. Printing is fast, double sided printing is automatic so I had to make sure I change settings for that. Printer is slim not as tall as previous printers I’ve had which I really like. It scans & copies nicely it also has print from anywhere from your phone I haven’t tried that yet. Works great with my apple products which I know I’ve always had issues with apple products to be compatible with other non apple products. Over all color/black ink is great & dark. Favorite printer so far!

    Very reasonably priced basic printer

HP-ENVY 6055e Wireless Inkjet Printer includes 6 Mo. of Instant Ink free. I bought this very reasonably priced printer for my Mac about 2 months ago. It was easy to set up. When I ran into a difficulty, I called the help desk and was given excellent assistance. I bought a very basic printer at a great price. I am retired and this serves my needs. If it lasts as long as the last printer I bought under similar circumstances, I would rate it excellent for my very basic needs of a printer.
