Terrible Purchase

The ink is a whole another issue. Runs our or dries up wayyy too fast even with the XL cartridges. Youll spend more money in ink in the first year than paying for the actual printer itself. Buy a different printer!

Regarding ink use, I can’t tell from your review how many pages you’ve printed per set of cartridges, nor how that compares with their estimated page yields.
However, if you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.

Will not keep its wireless connection.

It does not hold on to the wireless connection, you have to go through the process of reconnecting. This process is time consuming and problematic. I only print occasionally and I don't want to spend 30 minutes messing with a cheap printer to print a page.

I hate this printer

WHEN it works, which is infrequently it's great. It is CONSTANTLY offline. Like, I will print a document and go to print something else and it's offline! For no reason whatsoever. It's annoying and it angers me every.single.time it happens, which is daily. I'd never buy this again.

DO NOT RECOMMEND
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE WORST. A lot of reviews (outside of Best Buy) complain of difficulty upon setting up. I’ve set up many printers in my home prior to this so I thought I’d be fine. We were in the middle of set up when all of a sudden the printer lost internet connection and I was left with an error code. Called Tech who went through so many trouble shooting points w/me, was on the phone for over 1.5 hours and suddenly I was put on hold to have something checked, tech never came back, I was transferred to a completely different dept. And had to start all over and kept being transferred to person after person asking the same exact questions only to be transferred again. THIS PRINTER IS NOT USER FRIENDLY. So many people didn’t even know where the power was, there’s no screen, just touch buttons that will only respond if it’s flashing, so if you’re experiencing issues and there’s not flashing buttons on the touchpad, you cannot press anything to get anywhere. The smart app is such a joke, it kept telling me to finish set up be kept redirecting me to a different page with no further instructions. NEVER BUYIN HP AGAIN

If you keep the printer on overnight, it will go offline which is understandable. However (at least for me), I am unable to click the power button on the back of the printer to turn it off. In result, I have to unplug the printer and have it reboot itself after I plug it back in. If you do, chat with a virtual agent, the agent will tell you to restart and if unable to do so, reboot your router. I am personally not going to do that; therefore, I am going to stick to either unplugging it or just turn it off after done using it. Other then that, the printer is great, I would it rate it a 4.8 due to this one problem.

Avoid at all cost

If you don't print often, the ink will automatic drys out for few months, this is a way they lure you into subscription model. 2. The no display design is completely trash, I can't say how many hours I wasted on this garbage technology, while other companies have been doing great work on no display technology, HP fails hard, usually your mobile app or your desktop will simply crash. In conclusion, this printer sucks.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER

I've turned off private pickup but my printer still sends all the files I try to print to private pickup. I go to the HP smart app on my phone and the app can find my printer with no problem, but when I go to private pickup files the app CAN'T find my printer that my phone is RIGHT ON TOP OF! As i am typing this the HP smart app is STILL trying to find my printer and it's been more than 8 minutes! This has essentially bricked my printer, as now I cannot print ANYTHING! The printer will not print out anything double-sided, it ruins the quality of all my PDF files it tries to print, and it has trouble connecting to my desktop computer! I am NEVER buying from you guys again! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRINTER COMPANY!!!

Never Again

You can only print w/the HP Smart app. The app is awful and often won't upload your documents correctly or can't sense your printer. Since the most recent update, the app will not work on any of my computers. The printer itself produces decent documents, but often loses wi-fi connection and/or needs re-setup. Overall this printer has been exhausting and wasted a lot of my time. For context, I am very comfortable w/technology troubleshooting and my sig other works in tech. 0/10 would not recommend.

It took me 3 days to install it, had to call my IT guy from work and he struggled to get it to connect so it would print. When it finally connected via bluetooth that is when I started experiencing issues with it being "offline". I have restarted me router, restarted the printer, restarted my laptop, emptied my printer's queue. NOTHING works. You cant talk to a human via their 24/7 chat assistant. Best Buy wants to charge you to help you fix it. I want my money back and cant get it because it is past the return date. Now I'm stuck with a useless printer and I have things to print for my business. the ONLY reason this piece of trash is getting a one star is bc it is required in order to submit your review. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

This is NOT the printer for you.

I use a 2021 Macbook Pro to print to this computer and the printer recently reported that the printer is "offline." After numerous attempts to reconnect and attempting the various steps given by the virtual chat on HPs website for hours, the printer still will not come back "online." To top it off, HP reportedly asks for feedback after providing no prevailing solution to the problem. They will not make an attempt to provide a live agent if you did not pay for a warranty. In short, they sell you a product with software issues and avoid providing additional help if you don't buy the warranty, which is trash. It's not like the product has been damaged by the customer, you simply sold a product with trash software.
