Posted .Hi, Jane.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed poorly for you. I can certainly understand why frequent paper jams and the inability to use even light photo paper would be tremendously frustrating, especially considering the retailer’s return period has passed. I would love to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll provide some resources aimed at making that happen.
First, I recommend going through the steps to clearing and avoiding paper jams that you’ll find in this troubleshooting guide on our support site:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06575809
I can’t tell from your review whether the jams take place inside the printer or at the document feeder, so if it’s the latter, you might gain useful information in this guide to feeders that pull through too many pages at once or fail to pick up paper at all:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503
The second guide might also help with the photo paper issue.
If any problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has used ink at a rate that has left you so alarmed. I can’t tell from your review whether you’ve installed replacement cartridges or have used only those that came with the device. Nor can I tell how many pages you’ve printed or how that compares with the estimated page yield for the cartridges. Nonetheless, I’ll offer some clarifying information and resources I hope will help you resolve the situation.
First, I can’t say for certain what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than ones in our Instant Ink program. XL size cartridges for your printer have estimated page yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular sizes are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. If your results differ from that dramatically, here are some things you can consider:
- If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, I recommend that you contact the seller who sold you the items.
- Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within their “warranty ends” date). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
- A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer “park” so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.
If you believe your situation warrants further investigation, I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. Runs out of ink insanely fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a piece of garbage. Unless you print very very little spend your money on something else. It’s cute, but that that the only reason it gets 1 Star. Instead of 3 separate color cartridges it’s 1 color cartridge with all 3colors. When 1 color runs out it just keeps on printing with the remaining colors or when all colors run out it just goes to black and white. And other than alerting you that it getting low on ink you never know that it’s one particular color. It run out of ink in like 5 seconds!! I’m not even joking. Like 15 pages. I knew the start up cartridges it cane with would run out fast. When they did I ran out and got a 67 black and a 67xl color. That xl is a joke! Printed about 60 pages with very little color and within 20 of those pages it was saying low ink. I thought there is no way, but I went and looked at the prints coming out after about 49 pages and yep sure enough Absolutely no color was printing and the black was now a light grey. We bought this instead of spending $160 on a new printhead for our hp 8620, because we wanted something a little less bulky and didn’t need all the features of the 8620. That was a mistake! This thing is going back and we'll spend the money on the printhead or towards a epson eco tank.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally the hardest printer to ever connect to. Its constantly plagued with errors and disconnections. They require an app to use it, the app is hot garbage and is just a carrousel of frustration and errors . But don't worry there's a wireless way to connect to the printer... that requires a wire.... that they don't include in the box... but I'm sure that feature is useful if you have the most specific cable in the world. Seriously stay away from HP if you want an easy printing experience.

Worst printer ever.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer in November of 2020. Immediately, it was a farce. The set up process was anything but easy, the printer absolutely refuses to stay on our wireless network (despite the fact that we have great speeds and a fully connected house in which none of our other devices have an issue), and the HP support team has been a nightmare. The scanner is absolutely awful on this "all-in-one" printer, but when I talked to support about it they tried to tell me that this scanner is only for documents and will not scan photos well. What?! This item description doesn't say that anywhere. I finally gave up on trying to do the wireless printing and bought a USB cable... and now the printer refuses to print, even when hard wired. Instead, I get a bunch of "Printer Information Pages" and not the document I sent to be printed. I truly cannot overstate just how much I regret buying this printer.

Don't be stupid like me and buy this printer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WORST PRINTER EVER! I bought this printer for school and it is essentially useless. It constantly goes "offline" and you have to spend hours getting it back "online". The ink cartridges say they print at least 100+ pages but you are lucky to get half that amount before the ink is out. It is the most frustrating printer I have ever owned and will no longer buy HP products in the future because of my experience with this calamity of a printer. It is better used as target practice, anchor for boat, or undersea environment for coral. These are the only things this printer is qualified to do properly. ALSO, if someone gives you this printer "free" immediately throw it away and question your friendship with this person as it seems they have great disdain for you hidden in their heart based off of this giving action.

Seriously and honestly cannot recommend!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this printer for about 30 days now and as a fan of HP, I seriously cannot recommend this item!! While the printer had potential at first and I was very patient with it, this printer is not worthwhile!! It constantly disconnects from Wifi, it freezes so that pushing the power button to shut it off has no effect! I have to constantly disconnect the power cord and re-connect it. I have reset it numerous times, it is on the latest software but the issues unfortunately remain!! It is past the 30 day mark now so too late to return it. I guess I will go with Canon at this point for reliability because this has been a total waste of time!! Between the wasting of ink and paper, this is not what I've been used to in the past as far as HP printers go and do not understand where the HP quality has gone. Do not bother getting this trash!!!
