    Great printer. However I am reluctant to give it 5 stars on the basis that the "free" ink program appears to have committed me to HP ink. I use HP ink but the monthly charges are way out of line with the amount of ink I require. I plan to cancel the program later today but am not sure of what hold HP will have on me in the future. I am saying I would recommend the item but caution light users to reject the Free Ink.

    This printer was easy to set up and works really well. The person that helped me didn’t try to upsell me on other things than what I needed and wanted. I appreciated that and this works fine for me.

    The printer works great now. I made the mistake of not signing up for the HP+ and instant ink when I first installed. There is no place in the software to add it later! So I had to spend a lot of time on the phone with HP support (the tech I got was great). Turned out we had to reset the printer and start over, but even then we ran into problems. I could not have done it on my own ever! It was supposed to come with 6+1=7months of instant ink. Trying to get that was a real chore. We never ended up with 7 months, but we did get 6 months. After hours of trying, that was good enough for me. I give 3 stars because of the difficulty with the software and getting the instant ink. If they would fix the software and the promotion I would give it 5. But if you are going to advertise 7 months of ink, you shouldn't have to fight so hard to get it. Note also that you have to claim the ink promo within 7 days or else.

    I was not sure how I was going to rate the printer, but it has worked out well for color printing of documents and photos. The color on the photos is good and holds fast. No smearing. A nice home and business printer for projects that require color or photos.
