Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the Envy 6165e printer's excellent overall performance and very good print quality. Many appreciate its ease of use and simple setup, along with its better connectivity and compact size. Some find the paper tray capacity to be small and the on/off button placement inconvenient.

Horrible printer. I've had nothing but issues with this product. I've only been able to print a few pages before it completely stops working. There's always paper jams or other issues; it even feels cheaply made. Please save yourself the hassle of dealing with this printer.

    Major Disappointment

I was on the phone with Geek Quad for over an hour trying to connect the printer to my laptop and it would not work. Also, the power cord continues to fall off the back of the printer. I am so disappointed. It was an inexpensive HP. However, I've had an HP for over 25 years and it still works but not wi-fi enable.

Unit was difficult to install - I'm a 30 year computer user. It wouldn't scan until numerous reinstalls were needed. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is at all uncomfortable with new equipment.

Returning this immediately. Does non consistently connect or stay connected. Impossible to count on whether you can print from email, phone, internet. Occasionally works, but mostly we get error messages which are in error (says it's connected, but it isn't), We've had several professionals reboot/restart all of our devices and it still won't work consistently. Returning it with a high degree of frustration. DO NOT BUY.

This is my second HP Envy printer, and a step up from my previous model. I like that this printer has a touchscreen display, and after turning on will provide you with the QR code to scan and start setup process (it's also on the back of the quick start guide). Setup is quite simple, and I was already familiar with the app from the last model, so that all went very smoothly. This model is also an inkjet model, so you can sign up for a monthly ink plan based on your user needs. With the type of printer this is I doubt you will need anything higher than the 100 page per month plan. 10 page plan (lowest tier) starts at $1.49 per month with the highest, 700 page plan, being $27.99 per month. They also give you 6 months of free ink, so you have time to figure out your usage needs. However, this is not an office printer, it only prints 10 black & white pages per minute or 7 color pages per minute. I mostly wanted this for printing photos, and some light paper printing here and there. It claims to fit 100 pages in the bin, even though it doesn't look like that many pages would fit. So that tells you right there this is not a workhorse style printer, but more for small stuff/amounts. I found the app easy to use. Printing directly from my phone, or from my laptop, or even the ipad were all easy to do. The pages were crisp and clean. The photos I printed came out nice as well. The colors were vibrant and matched the original photos fairly closely. Depending on what your personal needs/wants are this would be a nice home printer for most people.

just bought, used twice to print maybe 20-30 sheets of paper and now getting a load paper error and there is paper in it. Tried taking back to BB and was told can't do anything for me but GeekSquad would charge me $100 to see whats wrong with it. Only paid $89 for it brand new. DO NOT BUY

Very disappointed. You have to use the HP app to print anything, which means you have to go through several steps to print anything. And it doesn't print Pages documents, the Mac word processing format. So all documents have to be put in pdf or Word format before you can print them. Nor does it do two-sided printing. But I'm stuck with this poorly designed printer now.

This printer is garbage. I have spent days troubleshooting, installing/reinstalling/removing/resetting/updating software, firmware, etc. Constant screaming noise, takes multiple PWs/wifi connections to print one page. HP support is non-existent. Do not buy this piece of garbage or any HP printer for that matter. Lesson learned!

This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. It worked great for about a month. It then started working intermittently and now all I get is an error that says Setup Incomplete. I would not recommend this printer to anyone.

Printer would not setup wirelessly. And it would print from other programs. Even HP support could not get it work! I took it back and exchanged it for a Canon which runs beautifully and without the issues of the HP. That was my last printer frim HP.

The HP Envy 6165e printer is a wireless all-in-one printer with an easy-to-use app. It offers color scanning, copying, and photo printing. It prints up to 10 pages per minute black/white and 7 pages per minute in color. The paper tray holds up to 25 pages so it can go quite awhile between refills. The unit was packed carefully in the box and everything arrived in perfect condition. The unit includes a 2.4" display screen making it easy to see your progress during installation and print jobs. The quick-start guide provided easy instructions including - unpacking, cartridge installation, and alignment of paper head. It identified and connected to my wireless network easily and performed software updates quickly. I had it unpacked and installed, and in less than 20 minutes I was printing with full color and clarity! The unit is relatively small which is great - measuring only 17" x 20" by 5" and only weighing a little over eleven pounds! The printing speed is good, the print quality is great - I am really impressed with the HP Envy 6165e!

The display shows that it is connected to my wireless, the HP desktop shows it as there, yet when I try to print I get an error message. It worked initially, although not very reliably. This worthless piece of garbage is getting returned.

Wouldn’t recommend. The printer is very slow and keeps disconnecting from the WiFi. My WiFi is very fast so the problem is this printer.
