This one's print/scan quality is just good - but not as great as I expected based on some site reviews, or vs my old Cannon. And there are too many annoying sign-up offers, notifications, and the printer makes a high pitch "whining" noise even while not in use (mentioned in other reviews). It is very noisy when used. If you have a loud environment you may not notice. There should be a setting to turn off the "constant on" glow light. Again....the print and scan is ok/good.....but not good enough and the annoyances sink it for me.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer rendered scans and prints of substandard quality, and that it’s quite noisy when in operation. I can wholly understand why these factors as well as others you describe would make for an aggravating start to ownership. I want to help you remedy as many of these problems as possible, so I’ll direct you to some resources I hope will reach that goal.
First, I recommend that you follow the steps in a guide to improving scan quality that you’ll find on our support site. It covers what to do when the scanned file on a computer or the printed output has vertical lines, incorrect colors, color bands or poor resolution:

If it’s a print-quality rather than a scanner issue, I suggest following the steps listed in another guide that addresses faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:

I’ll also explain one factor that might be causing the noise you hear. While your printer is powered up, it makes sure that the nozzles are regularly cleared, which can be noisy, especially if the printer is on a hard surface. I suggest you try placing the printer on a padded surface to muffle the vibrations that occur.

It has everything you need from printing, to scanning and making copies. I'm a college student so the printer really comes in handy. The only thing is that for me it uses up ink faster than expected. I could probably print around 80 pages before it runs out of ink remember im just estimating it all depends on what you print etc.

Fits My Needs

This printer was reasonably priced and checked most of my boxes and it was available for pick up. Had problems setting it up which was eventually resolved with the help of of HP Support Live Chat. It seemed fairly simply to set it up for wireless printing and haven't had any problems printing documents since the initial set up. If you don't need a printer immediately, you may want to take the time to look at different options.

Nope. This thing was an absolute terror to set up. They insist that you use this HP smart app, and they also make it nearly impossible to set up with a USB cable if you don't want to use wifi. Took me three days to set up and over 3 hours on tech support over the course of those three days. I encountered every issue imaginable for a printer. Yes, it works now, but at what cost? I'm convinced I'll be dying at an earlier age from this experience.
