This printer is a joke. Owned this for one day before returning it. The power button is hidden on the back of the printer, so you have to blindly reach and do a feel-search on the back of it every time you want to turn it on or off. (Very frustrating if your printer fits into a printer bay shelf in your desk) The power cord is excessively short for almost no reason. Instead of the standard 6ft (such as is provided by Epson or Canon), HP went with one that is (I think) maybe 4ft on a good day, so you may need to consider also buying a replacement cord right out the gates. The printer tray has dynamic and dimming LED lighting to communicate various statuses, but HP decided to not care that putting cheap dimmer technology on LEDs can cause a low-key buzzing sound, which is constant and unavoidable while the printer is on. (And since the printer doesn't have a standby mode of any sort that stops the undulating buzzing as the lights fluctuate, you'll become very familiar with reaching behind the printer for that power button.) Also, not happy at all with being given an ultimatum upon starting the printer trying to force you into only using HP genuine ink. "Agree to HP+ or don't, and you can never change your mind." Seriously adds unnecessary stress and (nearly impossible to do) research to what should be the happy experience of unboxing of a new tech toy. I have no clue if denying this bonus, restrictive service would prevent totally normal features (IE: Does not getting HP+, and thus the "Print Anywhere" feature, mean that printing wirelessly from within your own WiFi network won't ever work, or does it only hinder printing from outside your network? HP, probably intentionally, does NOT clarify this anywhere). Other brand simply say, "you can only use our ink, that's it". I'd rather have that blunt clarity than this petty ultimatum. Also, the printer has no interface, so it isn't capable of doing the initial connection to your WiFi router on its own. All WiFi and settings must be configured from another device, which brings me to my next point. Pray to god your internet is stable during setup. My laptop (also HP, ironically) will sometimes spontaneously lose it's wifi connection. If you are half-way through the setup and your computer's WiFi connection throws a fit, this printer WILL NOT under any circumstances allow you to pick up the startup process using another device, or pivotally, even allow you to start over from scratch with another device if you unplug the printer. You MUST resume the process on the same device, and when you do, good luck. Also during setup, at one point you need to hit the blinking "i" button on the printer in order to continue the WiFi setup on your computer. Whenever I pressed the "i" button, it made a noise from the printer, but it did not trigger the laptop to continue to the next steps. I restarted the printer I think 7x in order for the button press to register. (And yes, the computer's WiFi was functioning at this point) The HP app also pales in comparison to the Apps of its competitors (which I found out after returning this one and buying a different printer), but I won't delve into that. I did a few test prints on this printer of its 3 quality settings, and its highest-quality B&W printing was fuzzier than the standard-quality print of the Epson I returned this printer for. And this HP printed slower. I can't think of a single redeeming quality for this nightmare excuse of a printer.

Product was a good price for a simple home printer scanner. Set up was easy. All you needed to do was follow the picture direction prompts. I like the feature of being able to scan multiple pages as my older HP could only screen one page on the glass. If you need a simple printer/scanner for your home use I would recommend.

Excellent printer. I have one concern/problem. You have to subscribe to HP Smart Service to use with multiple devices with this printer I wanted to add a second desktop, iPad and phone. 5 year subscription = $350.00

A little hard to figure out the keypad selections. Nothing in the start up literature indicated the use of each button. Not terribly intuitive.
