I ended up returning this printer. It was not very easy to set up. I have limited knowledge on printers and computers, so it wasn't worth the hassle.

This printer worked well the first couple of times, then when I would try to print again, I would have to physically go to the unit and reset it

Purchased the printer on recommendation of store rep and what a mistake. I am a CPA and can actually print a tax return of 50+ pages on main printer before this printer can warm up and print one page. Will donate this junk to some charity. Was to be used to print non-tax papers, but is not up to the task.

It has a constant humming noise. I have to unplug it when not in use otherwise the humming drives me nuts.

I had the printer for 3 months and only used it once. The printer would not turn on anymore.

Highly disappointed in this printer. Printed photos poorly. It did produce good scans though.

Issue right off the bat with auto document feeder. Had to pop open and reset top to make it work. Already had to realign heads.

Hard to install and instructions difficult to follow. Fax has completely quit working. Using it wireless, have to keep reinstalling.

I had to purchase ink cartridges for this printer because the ones supplied ith the printer were dried up

Had issues connecting my hp laptop to the hp wireless printer - the instructions weren't helpful. Now the feeder for copying or scanning is not functioning and this unit was supposed to be built for higher uses. Would make a different choice next time

I spent countless hours on the phone with HP trying to get the wireless function to work. MediaCom was also involved and the 2 companies would blame the other. Finally on the 3rd HP printer (HP was helpful and sent me new printers to try) and a new router I can use the wireless function. The printer that finally worked is not the 7640.

Very disappointed with this printer. Its always offline so I'm unable to print. Tried about 5 different Google trouble shooting tasks. Still doesn't work contacted geek squad 2 times resolved issue for printing approx 1 hr only. 3rd time geek squad can't help me on line. Too busy to schedule someone to come fix it . since my mom is critically ill.

The wireless connection keeps disappearing ... Very difficult to stay connected to this printer.!!!

Set up was NOT easy. Kept having IP issues when trying to do the so called EASY setup. Now, sometimes it prints, sometimes it tells you that there's NO printer connected, and sometimes it ERRORS and then it actually does print. Spent good money to try and get a good printer.

Constantly losing the wifi and I had to keep resetting it

Returned the printer. set up horrible on network of laptops, desk top kept failing to connect to various computers Apple and other brands. Picture color and clarity poor. excessive use of ink and cartridges to small even using larger size cartridges. Traded in hp laptops (2) returned hp printer and replaced them with apple products.

Modem needs to be reset before using. Not dependable

Great printer for the price and setup was very easy.
