I have only been using this printer for a short time. Have always used HP printers. Set up easy, prints great. I do not use Fax, so I can not comment. Prints pictures great.

I really like the all-in-one printers but this one takes the cake. I really like how easy it was to set up and how easy it was to connect wirelessly to my computer.

I've had this printer for 2 weeks now and it is the best printer I've had. It was very simple setting it up and using. I love the fact when you want to copy something you put it all in the top and it copies or scans, you do not half to insert one page at a time on the scanner. I easily print from my Microsoft tablet.

Has all of the features I need, including wireless printing from my iPhone. I appreciate that it allows you to print when some ink cartridges are empty, since I usually print black and white. Other vendors, such as Brother, try to force you to buy color regardless, and they fail to use all the ink in the cartridge.

This HP printer is easy to set up and easy to use. It also has e-print function, which seems to be the norm for printers nowadays, and because of that I don't need to have an USB cable like my old one. Good product so far and I chose HP because its products seem to be reliable as my previous one was also of HP and lasted me for 7 years.

just got it...great sales price....like the remote features...photos are good...will be using it mostly with our small office and so purchased the hp instant ink program to save on ink (up to 50%). some complained about the noise and speed but both non issues here...works fine...like the paper feeder and photo tray...

This printer exceeded my expectations and needs. The scan, print and copy option made my tasks so much easier and the wireless connection feature is very convenient for myself and my kids. This is a great investment and I will surely use this for quite some time.

After poor experiences with Canon and Epson ink-jet printers, I bought my HP Envy 7640 printer more than a month ago. It was very easy to set up wirelessly with my desktop iMac computer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that scanning occurs fast and, as long as you have downloaded the Scan App to your computer, it scans beautifully. Copying and printing letters and photos also are very easy and fast. I was able to download a full copy of the User Guide for this printer from the HP Support website, and found it to be much more detailed than the small brochure that comes with the printer. So far, I'm totally happy with the HP Envy 7640.

    Solid printer for me until....

I bought this machine almost 2 years ago and it served me well. I got the Hp instant ink on it and i enjoyed that service. Printed both sided for me. Fairly quiet and easy to install. Photo quality isn't the best but good enough to know you printed your photos right under your roof. The photo printing always cut part of the head off by moving the whole picture up on the paper. This might be due to the settings but i tried every adjustments possible. No luck! The photo printing is wet at times when coming out, i don't know why the ink gets wet like that. PLEASE BUY BEST BUY 2 YRS WARRANTY OR EXTEND HP WARRANTY AT LEAST FOR 2 YRS ON THIS MACHINE!!! I always get bestbuy 2 yrs warranty but i have no idea why i didn't on this machine. Suddenly, my printer wouldn't recorgnise my HP ink installed any more. I reset the maching to factory settings but still same problem. Called HP, they told me i should have extended my warranty which i did. They told me i only got the hardware warranty which doesn't cover the software issues. I was asked to pay $90 to fix it. I wonder how much they sell a new one. Told them i couldn't pay that much but the manager i was talking to dropped the phone on me after raising his voice at me. I was really disappointed because i was a huge fan of HP. All my electronics are HP. In a nut shell, great machine but prepare yourself for the raining day by getting the bestbuy 2 years warranty. Personally, i love this printer minus the problem. Now it's sitting at my house for decoration at the moment.

Needed to replace an older all in one. The Envy 7640 is on my wifi network and is access by 2 macs, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads and a W10 machine. We use printing and scanning functions and all are easy to use. Initial set up on Mac was not easy if you tried to follow the HP instructions. Needed to connect via USB first then all worked fine. Overall very satisfied with printer purchase

    Hunk of Junk!

After my old HP Envy 100 began to fail I began to look for a replacement. Not having been in the printer-buying market for some time, I had no idea what is the latest and greatest. I purchased the HP Envy 7640 with great expectations. Since I had enjoyed the Envy 100 so much I figured by now HP must have made many improvements to the Envy line of printers, so this one should be a pretty good choice. WRONG!! I am sorely disappointed with this printer! The print quality of pictures is poor. Inserting a memory card into the reader is tight! I thought I was doing something wrong because I really had to push hard to get the card into the slot. Correspondingly it is very difficult to remove the card from the reader. I had to get a pair of needle nosed pliers to (gently!) get ahold of the card to pull it out as I couldn't get ahold of it with my fingers! Very frustrating! What a concept -- keep a pair of pliers handy to extract your memory chip! Next was my attempt to print a copy. I lifted the lid and placed the page on the glass as per usual procedure. I chose "Copy" from the menu, and the machine began to go thru its paces, then…nothing! After a couple of minutes of the twirling icon on the screen a message came up "printing cancelled" and it spit out a blank piece of paper. I lifted the lid to remove the page I had tried to copy and the printer shut down! I have tried to copy several times with the same results each time. As for the plus features of this printer -- it prints quickly wirelessly (although noisily) via my home network from my MacBook Air. I also like the fact that the printer has two paper trays -- one for standard printer paper and a secondary tray which holds 6X4 photo paper. Very handy. Needless to say, this printer is going back to Best Buy. I have not tried to scan with it since it won't even do the simple task of copying. I have not tried the fax function. Again, if it won't copy I don't want it regardless of whether it does all the other functions. It is a total waste of money. Bottom line…if you need a printer capable of copying, do not buy this model.

Great value for the price; purchased it for only $99. Quick and easy setup. Performance is average compared to other all-in-one. Text quality is good, picture quality is below average.

Easy to use machine at an affordable price. I am very satisfied with my HP Envy 7640 all-in one printer. I recommend this printer. I am a strong fan of HP printers, the 7640 being my second purchase -- the first lasted 10 years with frequent use. Additionally, the HP instant ink service is very convenient. Thank you HP and BestBuy.
