Pretty good overall. Bit slow for my purposes at first, but upgraded RAM to 32 GB. Unfortunately can’t add graphics card. Perfect for low level computing, but there are better options.

I have no problems with this new computer. It is lightening fast, was easy to set up, came with both a wireless keyboard and mouse, and surfs the net quickly. It has 1 TB SSD of hard drive storage (more than enough for most users), and a slew of USB ports. I am particularly pleased that it uses an Intel core chip, as it seems more stable than the competition. Downsides, it does lack a built in CD/DVD Ram drive; so be prepared to use either an external drive, Passport drive, or Flash drive for back up storage. Also, you will have to purchase Microsoft Windows 365 separately. Then you download the software access with an authorization code. I purchased the permanent home usage version as I have no wish to pay additional monthly fees for a program that should have been included with my purchase. You will also want to invest in a decent monitor, speakers and a PC cam if your old hardware is not up to the task. Makes one long for the old days when most of these peripherals were included in a computer purchase. Overall though, this is a great machine for anyone needing a new PC, even gamers will be able to enjoy its speed. I have had several HP computers before (all Pavilions), this is my first HP Envy.

It did not start out well as the initial one i purchased was faulty and was on with HP on the phone. I was on with HP and they said it needed to be replaced (this was within 2 hrs of purchase) best Buy did a solid and replaced, no issues and the replacement works fine. Speed is way better than my older HP. I do wish it came with a CD player but I know most software nowadays is downloaded but still. I use the computer for work and home, most of it just data entry. I have not had any issues at all with it and have had it for over a month now. The computer is really quiet. I would recommend this computer even though it does not have a CD, just get an external drive which is what i did. HP support on the faulty one was excellent and they offered to send someone out or go back to the store to get it replaced.

Quick review of HP ENVY DESKTOP - Intel Core i5

My understanding is this is a discontinued product. Yet probably not at its best price, $799.99 is not on sale price. I replaced a suddenly malfunctioned 10 years old hp i7 desktop with this device. It fits my need as a retired person for general computing. 13th generation Intel Core i5 is sufficient for me, wish 12GB memory could be higher. Hp Keyboard and mouse comes as a wireless bundle hopefully would last overtime. I put it on my desk, the machine runs quietly. The power button is relatively tiny, and it takes a bit long to response after pressed until graphic seen on monitor. Works well with hp M24H monitor purchased on the same day.

Five stars for the computer, which is compact and quiet. Two stars for Windows 11. The computer is markedly faster than my old i5 with 32 GB of memory. The bundled keyboard and mouse are chintzy - expect to upgrade those.

I bought this a few weeks ago..I liked it because it was smaller than my old tower..Takes up less space..I have 2 gripes about it..First the power button to turn on the tower is small and in a deceiving place..I guess when they made this they had to make the button as slim as the tower..The other gripe is of course going from Windows 7 to Windows 11 is very trying for someone not teck savvy..I think they should have included a better manual for basics..It took me 2 weeks to order one..So that is the reason for 4 stars..It seems up to par so far..lol...Thank you HP

Works very well as a family computer. We purchased a large monitor to go with it. My husband loves it! Simple to set up. The only thing that I wish was different. The cable that connects the printer & drive was longer.

The Geeks were able to transfer all data from my old PC to the new one without much of a problem. Windows 11 seems to be much faster on this machine than my old windows 10 desktop. So far very happy with this computer.

so far so good.... i am getting accustomed to the newness compared to my CPU that i replaced. It is very responsive as a unit, but, i do not like some of software apps that came already installed and i am slowly adjusting all of that.

    • Brand response from Intel team
      Posted .

Hi, there. Thank you for your feedback. We understand your suggestion about optical drivers being built into the Intel® Core™ i5-12400 Processor.

We deeply respect your advice as we are always aiming to deliver a great customer experience and provide better products.

In this case, while most older computers have a built-in optical drive, few new computers include one, as it has been seen that not many people need these drives anymore. Most new software and data are downloaded from the internet rather than installed from a disc, you can actually raise your complaint directly with the manufacturer.

Please contact the HP customer service department here [ https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact ] for further assistance.

Thank you for choosing Intel! Mariana_Intel
