    Mechanical Failure After Printing 50-ish Pages

    Purchased a few weeks ago. Setup was easy and printer worked fine until the first time I had to reload paper. From that point on I received the error message "Photo Tray Problem; The photo tray is blocked. Please adjust the tray and try again." This error is not addressed in the User Guide or Reference Guide. Information I found on the Internet addressed the error on different printer models but not this one. Online chat was useless. I called HP Plus Support and spent two hours on the phone with a technician who eventually concluded that there was a mechanical problem and the printer needed to be replaced. HP is sending another free of charge (same model), so fingers crossed it does not abruptly fail like the last one.

    When the computer is shut down, the printer remains ON, unlike my old (former) printer that automatically turns off, when the computer is switched off.

    The hardware is fine but HP software caused my anti-virus software to flag multiple threats from potentially dangerous adware sites. I deleted the HP software and am just using Windows to connect to the printer. It is also really annoying how hard HP tries to get you to not opt-out from their ink program. Very intrusive.
