Avoid Envy 7955e

Once using a Best Buy warranty, then through HP+. The first RMA was due to the scanner dying on me. The second RMA was due to banding issues on printouts. I tried multiple Instant Ink cartridges and that didn't resolve the issue. Unfortunately HP isn't producing quality consumer printers like it once did. I hear complaints frequently about the quality of consumer printers, particularly when it comes to the Instant Ink, cartridge razor shaving model. In retrospect I should have spent a little extra and bought a Brother laserjet. I'll likely do this if the RMA (still waiting for it) comes back and breaks. The only plus side to this adventure is that the support through HP and Best Buy was solid. Now if I could get that quality into a functional consumer printer.

A huge disappointment

But this printer is a huge disappointment! It is extremely slow when printing and it drinks ink. The standard HP64 color cartridge will only print 5 and a half pages of photos!! At $36. that makes each page $6. to print. And it was not a cheap printer. Going to the "tri-color" cartridges may sell ink, but it was a huge mistake. It also does not play nice with Windows 11. I will not be buying another HP. I would NOT recommend this printer.

When I pulled the paper drawer out it felt as if it was going to skip out of the guides. Ease of set-up depends on the computer. Despite what HP claims, Smartprint does not work on every system. It does not work on mine (HP Windows 11 laptop). I spent a couple of hours with an HP tech. Neither of us could get the printer to connect wirelessly. I took it back the next day

You cannot use ink cartridges obtained with instant ink unless you have an active subscription. Printer always requires an internet connection. I do not recommend this printer for anyone who doesn’t know how to troubleshoot.

Disappointed

I’ve always been an HP user but this one would constantly disconnect and I’d have to go and manually reconnect. It also gave me issues with printing from my iPhone. So I returned it.

Never got it to work

Spent hours trying to get it to work and no go. HP says I have to return it so I hope best buy doesn't give me a hard time. What an incredible waste of my time buying this printer.

HP in unreliable

Multiple issues, it says I am out of paper when I am not. The print is streaking even thought I cleaned the heads. It also says I am not connected to the printer, even though I am hard wired to my PC

I print a high volume of pages because of school and I find myself having a hard time trying to keep ink stocked even with the promotion of ink offered. When I followed the prompts to request for more ink, they sent a email stating that I should receive shipping confirmation on my order with 4-5 days, it’s been over 7 and I have yet to receive a confirmation.
