I’m really happy with this printer! It prints quickly and the quality is excellent—images and text come out vivid and sharp. I also signed up for the monthly Instant Ink subscription, which makes keeping it stocked super convenient. Overall, it’s been a great experience, and I definitely recommend this printer!

The HP ENVY Inspire printer I purchased was very simple to set up and use. What also makes this a good buy was that it easily sync's with the HP Smart app which makes printing jobs easier both from my mobile devices and desktop. I also like the quality of the print jobs.

    A step backwards to failure

After many years of excellent service, my HP Envy 7640 finally failed and needed to be replaced. This printer was what I could find as the closest equivalent. I had high expectations, and was disappointed in every way possible. The hardware is a step backwards from the 7640. The printer no longer automatically ejects the catch tray when you print, you have to manually pull it out, and the tray itself is flimsier. Access to the ink cartridges requires opening an unnecessary front panel before you can open the printer up (so you have to open two things instead of the previous one). The printer doesn't have an ethernet port, so cannot be hardwired into a network. Print quality is fine, based on the test pages. If it was just the hardware bits being a step back, the printer would have gotten 4 stars. Unfortunately, the software side of things absolutely wrecks it. Instead of installing a driver, you are required to install HP Smart, and that piece of software is completely broken as far as I can establish. I have multiple computers, and the HP Smart software install on all of them (from the Microsoft App Store) has resulted in the printer being unusable. The HP Smart software can connect to the printer, display status, and if you run diagnostics from it, claims everything is fine. If you attempt to print a test page from the app, the print fails. If you attempt to use the printer to printer from any other application, the print fails. Event logs show it having trouble loading one of the DLLs. Multiple reinstalls have not corrected the problem. I can access the built in web interface on the printer and print a test page from there, so I know the issue is not with the printer. That's the only reason it doesn't get a single star.

Many connectivity issues and scanner issues.

My experience is a long one, but hopefully it helps readers make a better decision. I purchased an HP printer around 2021. I went through the process of setting it up which was simple to an extent. This particular printer has a port for a coord, bit it is covered by a small sticker because it is supposed to be wifi network usable. It did not work. I called HP and against my better judgment, I was convinved that an upgraded model would be better than a refund and having to purchae another brand. I was sent this printer model. Initail installation was easy, but ultimatley ineffective. I had issues with the printer recieving the command to print, staying out of sleep mode, and with recognising it is all in one and has a scanner. I had to call and have an HP tech person take remote control of my laptop and install every driver and operating app or program to have it work. Fast forward a few months and I started having issues again, this time it didnt take long for the tech support to get it operational once again. Since I only use the printer once or twice every month or two, I just kept restarting my laptop and doing a diagnostic and repair through the printer application when I encountered issues. I am again experiencing connectivity issues, as well as and more noticably scanner issues. I called tech support and they explained that since my printer is no longer under warranty since it has been a couple of years since that initial replacement and tech fix, and that it would cost me either $60.00 pre-tax to purchae a 2 year warranty so that they could help me, or $19.99 pre-tax to help me one time and it would be a 14 day warranty so that if I encountered the issue again in 15 days I would have to pay another $19.99 plus tax in order to recieve assistance. My suggestion is to not buy HP or at the least aviod this model.

We've purchased two of these printers in the last year. HP Envy is a winner! From installation to troubleshooting, this one is E-Z and user friendly. We enjoy that it's compact for the features.

A solid printer but have replacement ink handy

The printer works really well and it was easy to set up. However it uses and insane amount of ink. In the less than two months I've owned it for work the ink has been replaced three times and by no means am I a power user (a few a day if that). This printer replaced a nearly 15 year old epson which I only ever replaced ink for twice a year under the same load but unfortunately it was old and the ink becoming difficult to find. I know the companies make money off the ink but it really made an impression how little yield the ink cartridges have. While it is a good printer and works very well out of the box and has good wireless printing ; unless you have very low print needs or have an active instant ink subscription another might be a better value. I have an hp smart tank at home that I use a lot and have barely put a dent in the og ink from nearly 6 months ago. Overall, It's a solid printer with great features but unless you only print occasionally the instant ink subscription is likely a must.

The ENVY 7955 was very easy to set up. It connected to the Wi-Fi and to all of my computers without any problems. The print quality is good and simple to use either from the computer or manually.

I absolutely hate printers. Most are junk and fail within 12-18 months. So far this seems to work OK. Nothing spectacular but I don’t think any consumer printer will ever be great. 100 pages in and it is adequate for home use and school projects. Colors are good and streaking is minimal after corrections and cleaning. But I did have to work at it since out of the box it wasn’t ideal. So from a guy who hates all printers, this one is OK and that’s the best recommendation I’ll ever give a printer.
