I purchased this printer on Dec. 1, 2021. Someone from Geek Squad came to install it on Dec. 10. On Dec. 29, it quit printing. A Geek Squad representative helped me through the computer, updating some features and having me install two new cartridges. By Jan. 1, and after printing probably less than 5 pages, it was only printing in black and blue. Today, Jan. 10, it's only printing in black. Had computer waiting for help over 3 hours Saturday before I turned it off. Waited about 1-1/2 hours on phone for someone; I was supposedly next in line and would only need to wait 8 minutes. Tomorrow I shall try again to get help.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that you’ve had such a difficult experience with your printer so far. It’s no surprise that you’re exasperated, considering the device has failed to print properly in color and you’ve waited so long to get support without success. I want to help you resolve this problem, so I’ll provide a resource that I hope will get you the help you need.

I can’t tell from your review what means you used to contact HP, but I’ll point out that HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

    Terrible scanner feature

Horrible purchase. The printer and copier work just fine. I had terrible issues with the scanner. Most of the time it would not recognize the paperwork in the document feeder and would try to scan the flat screen which scanned blank. Also would pull multiple papers at a time through the document feeder. I've had other HP printers that were awesome but this one is a lemon.,

    Terrible Printer

First off, the HP monthly free ink is a total scam. HP only sent the original ink the very 1st month, and never once sent ink again. Its a total scam. But now to the printer. After 2 months this printer would not print any ink to the pages. I had to go out and buy ink at Best buy of all places, and that didnt work after changing the ink. Its been an awful printer, and now it just sits and collects dust since it only had a 60 day warranty on it. Im a best buy service member for $179.99 annually so im going to take it in this month to Best Buy. But please everyone, stay far far away from this printer, and HP printers.

It's unbelievable how HP has managed to mess up printing so much. Unless you're printing once a week, it takes an hour of troubleshooting to get the printer back recognized on the network. If you take the printer off the subscription service, it takes an immense amount of work to get all the features working again. I needed to do hours of research to get scanning back. Also it loves randomly shredding paper. Owned two HP printers before this and never had that issue. This unfortunately is my last HP printer and likely last HP product.

      Hi, Shar.

I’m sorry that your printer has used ink more rapidly than you’d anticipated. I can wholly see why that would be exasperating, considering you bought the printer to make calendars and bookmarks. I want to help you understand what’s happening and remedy the problem if one exists, so I’ll provide some information and resources toward that end.

First, I’ll point out that the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 415 to 600 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 165 to 200 pages. That said, how cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is. I imagine you’re working with images of very high resolution for the calendars and bookmarks.

Without knowing more about the resolution, colors and paper type, I can’t tell what an approximate page yield should be for the uses you cite. I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a way to improve page yield if one exists. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

    Piece of Garbage

First one I purchased arrived defective. Kept getting an error message so I exchanged it for another. Second one I was able to set up, but the scanner tray wouldn't grab my documents. It kept jamming, even with 3 pages! Very disappointed HP would make such a piece of junk! My observations: - internal mechanisms are all plastic. Definitely planned obsolescence. - HP pushing their monthly ink package. Does not make economical sense for the home user. Avoid. - Cannot set up printer or troubleshoot without downloading the app and managing through your phone. No advantage other than to cause frustration when phone and printer stop communicating and you're stuck with the spinning wheel and have to restart multiple times before it works. - Printer prints paper or pictures and tray stop doesn't automatically open like other Envy printers so prints fall to floor. - Price. For $269.99 I expected at the very least, a printer to function properly. DO BETTER HP!!! Look elsewhere at another brand.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve encountered such difficulty with your printer purchase. The frustration you express comes as no surprise, considering you returned a faulty unit and then experienced paper-feed and software problems with the replacement. If you’ve not returned the second printer, I want to help you remedy the issues you face, so I hope you’ll use the resources below to make that happen.

First, I recommend you follow the steps in this guide to document feeders that pull through too many pages at once or fail to pick up paper at all:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503

You might also gain useful information from guide on our support site to installing and using the HP Smart App, especially the FAQ portion, which covers common questions as well as difficulties users have encountered. Choose the link to whichever document matches your operating system:

So this review went from reviewing a terrible printer to a terrible website or app and a terrible printer thank you very much Best Buy for wasting my time. I’ve never done one of your reviews and I did a detailed description on this and all the way down till everything out as I should on this page I clicked on the terms and conditions and when I clicked back my review was gone Form just reset. Imagine how many stars you’re getting Best Buy. That’s for this printer? This printer is made incredibly cheap is the only way I can describe it it functions sounds and feels like it was just put together from what HP had left in a lab and from 1989. Don’t even bother with it there’s a reason is the only one left on the shelf and it is way over price for that kind of headache .

      Hi, Adam.

I’m sorry to learn that you’re so profoundly dissatisfied with your printer. I replaced an older HP model that finally broke with this model. I think some features regressed. The touch screen is more difficult to navigate, and I cannot scan to a thumb drive. Otherwise it is acceptable. I signed up for the ink program which extended my warranty and is saving me on ink costs.
