Not the Best HP Printer That I’ve Had
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Photo quality using HP ink is not as good as expected. Resolution and color brilliance are not satisfactory. This applies to photos printed from the screen and those printed from a computer or I phone. Mechanical action is louder than other HP printers that I have owned c

failed set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because it was 123 set up with apple products, turned into getting help from someone who took over my computer to install printer and after 3 tries said he had to talk to another "tech" another try to no avail. Had to talk to supervisor. He explained the printer was working, my computer was fine but the "between" was blocking the set up. He offered another higher tech would work on it that it would take 20-30min and if it worked I would be charged a one time fee of $99,00. I declined and took it back to the store. So much for 123

Posted .Hi there,
I'm terribly sorry to hear about the troubles you've had with your printer. Even more so, it's awful to hear about the experience you had when reaching out to support. Unfortunately, support feedback of that nature is often linked to fraudulent companies or individuals.
For future reference, there is no charge for standard support during your 1-year warranty period. With that said, it's unfortunate to hear that you returned the printer, but I'm glad you were able to do so without issue.
Despite this printer not working well for you, I hope that you'll allow us an opportunity in the future to help you find one that better suits your printing needs. We would love a chance to make things better with the quality experience that we intended on providing from the start.

Perfect for a home office or college student
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is perfect for someone who is in college or a small home office. It does lack the ability to fax, but in this day and age, you can snap a photo with your phone and email it, so that wasn't a big deal to me. You can however scan to your email address or computer and email it that way. To completely setup this printer you will need to have either a computer, tablet or smartphone. For some, this may not be preferred, but for me it went smoothly. There are apps built-in to the printer that will allow you to connect to stamps.com, print off mazes, to do lists, etc. It has its own email address so even when you are out and about you can print something via email. It comes with two small cartridges that were easy to install. This is definitely a small printer and would not really work well for medium to heavy use, but would be perfect for students or a small, home business. All in all, I really liked this printer. It also has the option of using HP's Instant Ink program that allows you to choose from three differently monthly plans, based on your usage and it will automatically ship to you replacement ink cartridges. The smallest plan is $2.99/month for someone who averages roughly 50 pages of printing per month. You can co up to 1500 printed pages per month for about $10. Not a bad deal to me as it would avoid the hassle of having to run to the store at the moment when I need to print something and for $3, I think its worth the investment in my time. You can cancel at anytime, so its worth the try.

Absolute pice of crap
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sometimes it prints, sometimes it doesn’t. Now it doesn’t. When it did it was painfully slow. It would stop halfway through the job and say it was drying. What is this the Spanish Inquisition? Would it help if I got out and pushed? I bought this because of the reviews. I should have known. This is the second HP printer I have purchased and it was a piece of crap too. I guess mine was a dud by the sound of the other reviews. Going to buy an Epson. Fair thee well.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has not performed like it should. I can understand why the delays and general unreliability you describe would quickly become extremely irritating, so I’ll offer some resources and information that I hope will help.
First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems. There you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
You can also look at these documents that cover improving print speed:
- Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
- Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898
If the problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Tray selection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good printer, but the poor rating is based on it not having an auto tray selection between the photo tray and the letter tray. After discussions with the Geek Squad it apparently has to be manually changed. However; it now won't print letters at all even though the letter tray is selected.

Not Happy
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Problem #1. This is November. Bought it last April. I use it 3-4 times per month. Sometimes I get horizontal lines across what I print out. The only way to correct it is to change to a new ink cartridge. The old one will have plenty of ink left. This gets expensive. Problem #2. I have used the scanner since April. Now I get locked out of my own scanner that I paid for unless I set up an account with HP where they want my information and cell phone number. The scanner would not work unless I set up an account with them.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has started rendering prints of poor quality, and that you’re not satisfied with setting up an HP account. It’s easy to understand why that would be quite a frustrating combination, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.
I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:

Would Not Print
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After installing the HP Printer I tried to print and was given the message it would not print with the ink cartridges that came with the unit. I called the HP help desk and was told I had to pay over $200.00 for a service package or they would not help me get the printer working. Took it back to Best Buy. Sticking with my Epson XP-830 even though it uses a lot of ink.

Posted .Hello,
I'm very disappointed that the setup cartridges did not work for you. This is not the experience we strive for.
HP has a warranty on its cartridges, so you should have been able to get replacements at no cost.
Sorry this wasn't the case for you. I'll send feedback to the support team,
Mary
