Right out of the box hp requires you to use the included cartridges to set up the pronter (I found this out after I already tried using the ones I bought, whice were certified hp cartridges btw) so I had to use the included cartridges and then toss them because I already opened the ones I purchased. When this printer decides to work its not bad at all, but in the year that I’ve owned it I’ve probably used more ink/paper to clean the cartridges and running quality diagnostics than I have to actually print something.

The store was closed due to covid so I couldn't go in. The sales clerk brought me out a replacement for the printer I just bout a month ago. My pit printer had a top feed tray for documents, this one doesn't so it really doesn't fit my need.

Ok printed. Not thrilled at all with color process. Uses one cartridge so runs out quickly. The blank ink also has a ver short print number. Nowhere near what they claim. Like the ability to print from phone

Luckily I’ve purchased the geek squad warranty because I’ve had to return this printer for a replacement within the first 6 months of purchasing it. It worked great when I first bought it but I use it constantly and it quit reading the kind of paper I used for it

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has been so problematic during installation and setup. It’s easy to see why the many roadblocks you describe would quickly become frustrating, so I’ll offer a resource I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review why your printer won’t recognize photo paper or connect like it should, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

I have not been happy with this printer. It's loud. Toward the end of the warranty period, I kept receiving an error message and couldn't use it. I called HP Support, was on the phone for hours and it needed to be replaced. That meant some of the time I had left on the warranty was lost to me. Nothing was done for my inconvenience. So, not happy.

Good for print and copy, do not attempt to print pictures, terrible output. Have always purchased HP photo printers and this is the first time I’m disappointed and sadly had to return it. This printers was replacing a 10 year old HP photo printer.

Do not buy this. I was trying to replace a Canon that is finicky about wireless printing. Canon requires one app for cellphones and tablets, and it works well. My wife's aunt came to visit, and was able to hook up to the Canon and print with no problems. I have an HP laptop, and could not get the three programs needed to even load up. My wife was able to get them loaded, then we discovered that an account at HP Print or something was needed...just to use the printer! I messed up and tried to return it on day 31 after purchase, now I have a $179 useless piece of junk sitting here in the box.

This is by far the WORST printer to could purchase, because their warranty is absolute garbage. Loooooong story short, I bought this brand new at Best Buy and 2 months later, I've received 2 replacements!! Both of them being REFURBS!!! BOTH of them have problems!! So guess what, I get to get another refurb!! I have spent about 8-10 hrs on the phone with HP Warranty trying to get it resolved and that does NOT include the time I've spent on hold waiting!! If I could give zero stars, I would!! HP SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Bought this printer to copy forms and print from the material from internet....found out it has to be fed one page at a time and is not meant to be a scanner for multiple page items. Took it back next day...Typically I love HP and was in a hurry, got it cause I had ink the same size and was desperate to get a few quotes out to folks...did not work at all for me. Got a different HP I do not love but it works better with scanning forms and emailing...now I have over $200 of the wrong ink and have to buy different ink...they really know how to keep their profits rolling in with ink..

I have NEVER had a problem setting up a computer printer, but this was awful. No disk. Online directions were AWFUL, and the normal, SIMPLE scan to email had to use their web service. NOT! Ended up paying over $80 for Geek Squad to tell me just to scan to computer and then attach to email. UPGRADING was not an improvement. Shame on HP. Next time, if ever, I'll buy the cheapest printer I can find. It would probably be just as good as $150 HP printer.

      Hi Linda,

It's so disappointing to hear that your printer's setup was less than seamless. I'm so sorry that you've had to pay for assistance with trying to get everything going. It certainly shouldn't have taken so much time, so I can imagine how inconvenient this must've been. Despite these first impressions, I assure you that it's always our intention to provide a reliable printer experience.

For future reference, pages 41-49 of your printer's user guide will be quite useful as it details all of your options for scanning (including scan to email): hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05633496.pdf

If there's anything we can help with going forward, please don't hesitate to contact us for support. We're always more than happy to help, so you can reach out anytime via your preferred method (call, chat, etc.) at this link: hp.com/contactHP

I bought this printer 1 month ago and it worked fine. Now it won't print any texts. It prints pictures but the quality is very poor. I contacted Best Buy and they said that they can't help me since it's past 15 days and that I had to Contact HP. I've been trying to contact HP for a few days now with no luck. I sent them an email about this issue and am waiting for a response. In the mean time I have no printer and I really need it for my business. This really sucks.

I set it up and the first day it worked great. Since then I have been unable to print anything wirelessly even after reinstalling, turning off, etc. I am going to have to hook it up with a USB cable, but the whole purpose for getting this was so my kids could print schoolwork from their laptops anywhere in the house without me logging into my computer for them to print. Don't buy!!

Had this printer since January 2018, and in September 2019, I couldn't get the printer to align or print colors properly. I rarely used it and virtually every time I did, I had to reset the wifi on it or perform some task like setting it up *again*. It flew through ink, and at this point, won't even print cyan in best mode. I've tried to get support through Best Buy and HP and I can't even get through the phone trees. The worst part? I bought a different printer a month before same thing without the scanner, and it doesn't work very well either. These printers replaced $300 HP Printers that refused to update.
