Printer worked but would not connect to my wireless network sufficiently to connect to HP. Kept giving error messages. I spent 3 HOURS on chat with HP, getting disconnected several times and having to start over. Took so long because I had to wait minutes between every step. NEVER RESOLVED PROBLEM and ultimately was disconnected for the 3rd time after 3 hours so gave up. Returning printer.

      Hi, Cindy.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed poorly on so many fronts. It’s easy to see why issues with the copy, print and scan functions as well as paper jams would be quite exasperating, so I’ll try to offer some helpful suggestions.

From your review, I can’t tell what’s causing these problems or whether they’re related, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

The device works well and operates as expected, nothing special good or bad about the hardware. The software and drivers are located on the web and cannot be downloaded to the computer. Without internet access the device cannot be used. The information about what you are doing becomes unavailable to who ever is holding the software so you get cut off. Also. every time the ap. launches it pesters you to sign up for the instant ink program. A competent device ruined by over reaching, invasive, software.

After several weeks stopped working saying Printer Offline and then stated Print Driver error 45. Tried everything found online and even tried reinstalling off HP website and HP Smart App. Online stated this problem occurs often with Windows 10. Best Buy could have mentioned that problem to me. From day one the printer would not print 4 by 6 pictures correctly either. My older HP photo printer from 10 years ago always worked perfect with no printing issues ever. Too late to return and will never buy an HP printer again.

The printer was extremely difficult to set up and required way too many steps. After 45 minutes I used my computer settings to connect to the printer and it was way faster than following the directions. Then after day 1 the printer had a message that I was no longer eligible for the HP instant ink program I spent 15 minutes registering for. Totally not satisfied and I will be returning this printer and getting a brother printer.

      Hi Johnny,

It's so disappointing to hear about these complications with Instant Ink. I can also understand how inconvenient the difficult setup must have been, so I apologize for the trouble. Although you mentioned you'd likely be returning the printer, I'd still like to see how I can help, just in case.

What I'd recommend is contacting our dedicated Instant Ink support team so they can assist you with the Instant Ink subscription. They would be more than happy to help, so you can give them a call at 1‑855‑785‑2777.

I hope you'll allow us an opportunity to make this right.

I was so excited when I received the printer, when I opened the printer I realized it was BROKEN! The lid to the scanner part was already detached from the main body of the printer. To say I was greatly disappointed is an understatement. Especially with all the wonderful reviews I have read about this printer. I I was able to get a refund, the gentleman that helped me was very understanding, I greatly appreciated all his help. I got the full refund, BUT the Best Buy that I went to to return the printer had zero printers that I was looking for due to the pandemic.

      Hi there.

I’m so sorry to hear that you received a broken printer. It’s easy to see why this would be a huge disappointment, especially considering you were so excited to receive it, so I’ll provide some information and resources I hope will help.

While I can totally understand why you would be reluctant to try mail order again after receiving the damaged unit, I see that BestBuy.com does have this model in stock. You could also try other retailers in your area, if you’d rather buy one in person.

I hope this helps, and, again, so sorry that you were put in this unfortunate situation.

Print setup went well and then it all fell apart. The ink that came with the printer lasted for one 8"x10" photo high-quality print. Called HP and they sent a new color cartridge. HP Support said it was a bad ink cartridge and the new one would work much better. New cartridge lasted two 8"x10" high-quality prints.

this printer has vertical lines on side of paper; it was replaced and the replacement has the same problem. I have had it less than 2 months, but did not notice until I started doing a lot of printing, not consistent. Prints ok 1 page at a time, 6 of 7 pages have lines, not first page. HP is going to allow me a refund so I can get a different model since I have the HP instant ink program.

This printer is OK as a copier but as a wireless printer it is very unreliable. Half the time for no apparent reason it won't print. Error message says it's off line, but printer indicator shows it is connected. The only way to fix it is to shut it down and restart it. I wouldn't even dare to send something remotely to it. I thought by buying an HP I was getting a high quality unit, but my honest opinion is it is a piece of junk.

The printer would not connect with the internet. During set-up it went through all the motions except it never asked for the password to our wireless. One of the steps was to sign-up for something that would cost $10/mo. -- of course that could be cancelled. I never signed-up. Maybe that's why it wouldn't connect to internet? Also called HP help line, but got rerouted to another HP helper that didn't help. So I just gave-up, after wasting 1 1/2 hrs. for set-up.
