Do you want to print 2-sided greeting cards effortlessly? DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER! Had to call HP to get it to print the cards (by going through far more steps than hitting just "print"). Less than a year after purchasing this printer, I now have a paper jam inside the printer that I can't get at. Called HP & they can't help me over the phone! So if you buy this printer, BUY THE WARRANTY plan!!!

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that you’ve encountered such difficulty with your printer and have not received the support you need. I can easily see why a complex process to print two-sided greeting cards followed by a paper jam and confusing information from support would leave you feeling frustrated and dismissed. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll point you toward some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I'll mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if your printer suffered what’s deemed a fatal error with that paper jam, you should be able to make use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Next, if you’ve not done so already, I recommend going through the steps to clearing and avoiding paper jams that you’ll find in this troubleshooting guide on our support site:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05556825

If the problem persists, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Keeps dropping connected devices repeatedly. Connecting and reconnecting is a hassle at best. I can keep giving more examples, but I'll run out of space. The main reason I am WARNING against this piece of garbage - IT BROKE AFTER A FEW USES. Broke as it is made with CHEAP INFERIOR QUALITY PLASTIC PARTS that BROKE. Waist of money. NEVER AGAIN

Once I start to install the new cartridge from the factory package, just after 1 paper printed, it started to fail. And the printer saying that you need to change the new cartridge, what? It is the brand new machine, and I had to spend another 100 to buy a new cartridge plus waiting for 1 more week to use the printer? It is quite unacceptable.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer displayed a message indicating a new ink cartridge was needed right after you installed a new one. I can understand why that would be confounding, so I’ll suggest something that I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review why your printer displayed this message – whether it’s a problem with the cartridge or the printer itself – so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. Terrible printer. Bought it 2 months and a half ago and it's not returnable. So I will just put it in the trash and eat what I paid. It disconnects from the wifi network on its own and fights you when you try to connect. Tells you it's out of paper when it's not. The final straw: printing a photo produced a trashy mess after trying for over an hour.

As an avid HP product lover, this is one of the worst HP printers ever. The print quality never had the best quality from day 1. I print graphic items and pictures and always felt it lacked professional finish that I'm used to. As I complained to HP they kept blaming it on faulty cartridges until my warranty ran out. Lesson learned!

Started streaking, won't firmware update, ink doesn't last long. Honestly, I got maybe like 7 good pictures out of this thing and it stopped working. Oh, and if you're using windows 10 it will constantly say there's a printer update on the Win10 drivers, but no matter how many times you try it, it won't go away. Garbage Device. I really expected more from HP.

      Hi, Kaden.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has rendered photo prints of such poor quality. I can certainly understand why getting only a handful of good prints from the device before it started adding streaks – not to mention the frequent firmware update message you describe – would be a tremendous disappointment for a new device. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll direct you to some resources and information I hope will meet that goal.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including streaked or faded prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the recurring firmware-update message or the rapid ink use, so for input on that – or if the print quality problem persists – I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Horrible do not buy. The six month ink is a joke and the printer goes through ink cartridges like crazy. I used five cartridges in under a week to print only resumes. The ink cost was over $100. Customer service was not helpful and the software for the printer is like a constant advertisement, constantly trying to sell more products to you.

This has to be the most inconvenient printer I’ve ever used. It is extremely slow and hardly ever prints correctly on the first try. This printer has given me more errors than pieces of paper. Setup was also extremely arduous, and it is slow to shut down as well. Do not buy this if you intend to print wirelessly because it will take up so much time instead of saving it.

Dealing with Best Buy is a nightmare. I Purchased geek squad so I wouldn’t have any problems with my printer. But when I called the geek squad because I had trouble getting the printer connected they told me I would have to pay $199 more for them to help me out with it. I ended up hiring somebody on my own. I will never ever ever buy anything from Best Buy again.

Not pleased with this printer. For whatever reason it is not compatible with the Apple Mac, some difficulty with installation and connection and once I thought I had it running smoothly, it doesn't. Very disappointed with HP. My last HP worked well. HP tells me it Apple, Apple tells me it's a problem with HP.

Let me preface this by saying my only gripe is that this comes with a setup ink cartridge set, I assume it isn't a full ink cartridge as the kind you buy. Everyone does this though nowadays. Okay, since the bad stuff is out of the way, I'll tell you it has been a few years since I got a new printer. I'm glad I waited, this is truly a great machine. HP makes good stuff, I have never had a bad HP product in all the years that I've been buying tech stuff. This printer is no exception. I was able to do all the multi-functions without an issue. The app is easy to use and helpful. The print quality is exquisite. The machine seems solid and the footprint is good sized. There isn't anything about this that I didn't like. The setup was easy, the paper loading is easy. The printing never jammed. The scanning was easy. There is an SD card slot on the front. This machine represents a good value and I think you'll agree.

The printer prints ok. BUT when turning it on one day it refused to print. Even though both ink cartridges were full and there was no equipment error it turned out that we had no subscribed to their ink subscription service. The OS was preventing us from printing. Hi, Joshua.

Thanks for the review. While I’m glad you like the way your printer prints, I’m sorry to hear you’ve encountered trouble with it recognizing ink cartridges. I can understand why that would be an unwelcome surprise, so I’ll offer some information and resources I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review quite what happened, but it seems to involve our Instant Ink program in some way. Instant Ink is voluntary, so if you had not signed up for it, your printer should recognize cartridges you purchased outside that program. It’s possible, however, that you were sold Instant Ink cartridges by a seller who believed they were regular cartridges.

Regardless, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting and help you resolve this issue.
