    Great Printer/Scanner, better than Walgreens!

We purchased this scanner/printer to make photo books after a relative passed, and couldnt be happier with the results. The scans of old family photos are nice and sharp. Also the printer prints better better quality photos than we have ordered in the past from Walgreens. Have not yet tried WiFi printing as we have a desktop connected to this printer all the time. Very happy with product.

Decent print quality but an odd printer

I wouldn’t recommend this printer because it has a mind of its own. I haven’t printed photos on photo paper so I can’t speak to that but it does have good print quality on plain paper. It turns off when it wants to, it didn’t do this before. It goes offline all the time. None of our other devices on the same network do this. Most of the time when it downloads/updates I get an error. My devices can’t locate it wirelessly when it’s on at times even when sitting right beside it. When it prints be ready because the paper flies out fast. I wish I had bought another printer but this will do when I can actually get it to work.

    Wouldn't even setup

I've had a lot of HP printers in the past so I expected a really different experience. First the mobile app is a joke, designed by someone who has obviously never created one before. It's more like a web page packed into a phone form factor. However that's nothing compared to the printer setup. In a nutshell, halfway through installation, the printer screen displayed the error "Do not use Setup Cartridges" and would go no further. According to the HP support page the only way to overcome this error is to return the printer (it uses different cartridges for first time use so that I can calibrate the printer). I don't have time to waste gambling that the second one might work properly, so I'm switching to Epson.

    Good printer. terrible set-up

I purchased the HP ENVOY photo 7155 about a week ago. Reviews were good. However the set up was a nightmare. In spite of following all instructs, I could not get my computer to find the printer. I tried for at least 2 hrs or more. On-line help did not work. I finally a tech at HP. He took over my computer and started to install. He said my computer was running slow. He than informed me that a worm or something in my wi-fi. For him to remove it I had to buy there protection program to the tune of $700. I then find out he works for a outfit called Geek Studios. He said they partner with HP. He worked a long time on my commuter and finally finessed install after another 2hrs. When I call HP help I don't expect to talk to someone who also works for another company. One of my worst experiences ever with a company like HP.

    Great Choice for General Printing

So, my wife has a high-end color laser printer for her business and the family was burning through a lot of toner (have a middle schooler, higher schooler, and me....all of us print a fair amount of stuff daily) so I bought a sub-$100 printer for general family printing. It is wireless, easy to set up, good enough resolution for general printing needs. And I really like the "one cartridge" for all of the colors. Minimum of fuss, maintenance...it just works and very convenient over the wi-fi. This meets our needs nicely.

I like the bluetooth connectivity and easy wireless setup. So far I have mostly used it for everyday printing and scanning, and it's been perfect. I tried printing a photo and the sizing won't line up properly and the photos have lines in them. Very disappointing considering it's an "Envy Photo" printer..

    Horrible Setup Process

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I went to the website as instructed and downloaded the software to my computer. I did not sign up for the InstaInk program. Now when I try to print, I get a message which says, “the printer requires your attention. Go to the desktop to take care of the problem.” When I go to my desktop I have to select the HP model number in an Eprint box and then hit print. This seems ridiculous to me to add another step to the printing process. In addition, I cannot scan from my computer.

    It's ok but...

Purchased this printer for photo printing and I notice the contrast/color is VERY strong meaning it's like the printer will increase your photo's color strength to make it look very colored. So my yellows are too strong and my redish is too red. I tried decreasing color(with Adobe Photoshop Elements) and that turns out a little discolored. Why do I have to edit my pictures to fit this printer. It should print my pictures raw as it is without adjusting it. My previous Epson and Canon printer(less than 3 years old) prints it A LOT better. My old printers prints exactly what is on my screen. This one? I'm going to return it.

I've written one review already, with a not so great rating. I am attempting to print, and having massive trouble again with this printer, which inspired me to reiterate how frustrating this printer is. It automatically switches to the incorrect tray, even after making the proper adjustments in printer preferences. Then, if I get it to print on the correct paper, it comes out extremely faded. I run the "clean cartridges" function and other troubleshooting, and it prints fine. I have also blown through several cartridges in a couple years and only print one and two color graphics every few months. I definitely do not do any sort of heavy printing. I cringe every time I think of having to use this printer, but I don't print enough to justify spending the money on a new one and going "Office Space" on this one.

The HP ENVY Photo 7155 has a touch screen that is difficult to use , it will jump to help when you touch copy, after this happens 5 times in a row it may copy. it is very unresponsive, and frustrating. It has a separate tray for photo paper but it only holds 4x6 and 5x7 paper and when you select that tray it will print from the other tray. or the other way around, you will end up with a portion of the print on a 4x6 photo paper or a 4x6 on a 8x10 regular paper. and the color is off, it does not make good photo copies. make sure you buy ink, the starter cartridge it comes with will last about a week with black and white and about 3 or 4 photos with the color cartridge. I wish I had bought a different printer, Best Buy salesperson said she didn't know anything about the printers, she had one but never used it. I have had this printer a week and am waiting on ink. the instant ink said it would take 10 days for it to come, even when I told them I was out of ink.

      Hey there,

Knowing that you've had such an inconsistent experience with the printer, especially after only a week, is so disappointing. I'm very sorry for the touch screen and other performance troubles you've come across. We pride ourselves on providing reliability with our printers, so I can certainly imagine how upsetting this all must've been. I would love to make this right for you, so let's see if I can provide a few helpful suggestions to help remedy this.

First, to tend to the color inconsistency, I'd recommend following the steps in this print quality document: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05551101

As far as the issues with the touch screen and paper trays go, I would update your printer's firmware. The latest update was released yesterday and contains a few critical performance fixes. You can download the update from this link: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/model/9073119

Then, I would recommend reaching out to the Instant Ink team so they can address your ink shipment. You can call them at +1 855‑785‑2777 and they would be more than happy to sort this out.

If what I've provided doesn't seem to help, please also remember that you can reach out to us for support anytime you need. We're always here and want to make sure that your experience with the printer is as optimal as it can be. You can get in touch with us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

    Poor Customer Service

Took printer home and opened the box and I had 2 color start up cartridges instead of a black and color one. I called HP and I was told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to return the printer to the store. I told them that I live over 25 miles from the store and I did not feel that this was my error and I requested for them to just send me a starter cartridge. I got no where so I called Best buy and they told me to bring in the extra color cartridge and they would exchange it for a black one. I did this and when I got home the black cartridge that they took out of the demo printer that was on the sales floor had not ink in it so it would not work. So here I have to go back to the store again to get this resolved. If you buy this printer I would open it in the store to make sure you have what you need because you will not get any help from HP or Best Buy and you might have to go to the store several times.

      Hi,

I appologize for the inconvience this has caused you. It's very unusual to receive incorrect setup cartridges in the box and I understand how frustrating this must be.

Although not ideal, given your distance from the store, I'd still recommend returning the printer and requesting a replacement to ensure you recieve the correct setup cartridges.

I will pass on this review our factory & support teams to ensure this does not happen again.

Poor quality construction; trays all pull out on top of each other, not enough room to load and unload easily-pictures do print nicely and find printed material looks good but alignment is not always ok. It is noisy-paper try holds very little paper so always refilling-uses ink-we have the ink replenishment and are always getting ink; recently had to go out and purchase ink because the correct color was not sent. Not for us at any price.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed poorly on several fronts. Although I’m glad you like the print quality, I can understand how inadequate room as well as noise and alignment issues would quickly become frustrating. With that in mind, I’ll offer some information and resources I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the alignment or noise issues, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
