    Review of HP Envy Photo7155

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I am constantly having to pause the printer and unpause it to get it to print. If that doesn't work waiting a while and coming back to it will occasionally work. Going into the print queue on Safari and clicking in it (recommended on some sites) works about half the time. Turning it on and off sometimes works. The "nuclear option" is to cut the power supply by unplugging the printer. It is exhausting!

      Hi, Vicki.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has performed so unreliably. It’s no surprise that you’re exhausted, considering all the troubleshooting and remedial measures you’ve done on a regular basis. I want to help you get the device working to your satisfaction, so I’ll provide some resources that I hope will make that happen.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity, which I suspect might play a role in what you describe. Beyond that, on the same page you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. You can find that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

For more help with difficulties, or to learn more about your printer and all its features, you can access troubleshooting guides, how-to documents, user manuals and software updates here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/model/9073120

If any problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

    Avoid!!

Purchased 3/28 and tried to set up tonight, 3/30. Infuriating. Never successfully installed the drivers despite multiple attempts, downloading the driver package directly from the HP support website, and using the print and scan doctor. Could tell the printer via network to test print, but the app said driver not installed, and accordingly I couldn't print from any software. The set up wizard was horrible - I am adamantly not interested in Instant Ink, so it appears that the install is designed to fail unless one signs up. Several hours lost for what should have taken 10-15 minutes. I like our other older HP printer, and generally like my laptop, so this is very disappointing. The heavy handedness with the Instant Ink is such a turn off I'm highly likely to blacklist HP from any further purchases. This printer obviously is a return.

Horrible set up & don't use for Photos

We bought this printer yesterday, the best buy salesman convinced us this was a great photo printer. We compared with old Canon printer and hands down, Canon is superior printer at the same price. I simple printer should take less than 5 minutes to set up. Well, we never were able to connect wireless, instructions did not align. Entering a "claim code" that never appeared in our print set up. I appears if your desktop is on ethernet, you can't have your printer on wireless...really? So this piece of garbage is going back. Stay away from HP Printers!!!

Piece of Junk Most of the Time

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I got this printer last fall and was excited about it, but, alas, it's a POS. Sometimes, it prints fine, but other times, it sounds like an old Chevy grinding gears. The sound is AWFUL. It's something to do with those plastic gears inside. The other day, I looked inside when it was doing it and there is a big (3/4") pile of ink building up under where the ink cartridges sit when it's not printing. At least I use instant ink I guess... I wish it would die completely so I could justify getting rid of it.

    Worked Great, Now Doesn't

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It worked great at first. Now, about a year and a half after I bought it, it prints partial. Initially I thought it was just a bad ink cartridge (only new HP cartridges, I have never believed in generic or refilled ones). So, I bought a new black cartridge. It was printing fine again. 3 months later, I replaced the color cartridge since the cyan was out. Almost immediately, the black started printing wonky again. I've tried running every cleaning cycle on the thing, and nothing works.

      Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear your printer has started inconsistently rendering black ink. I can certainly understand why that would be puzzling and eventually quite frustrating, especially considering it happened a second time after you bought a new cartridge, so I’ll make some suggestions I hope will help.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including black or color ink not printing properly or at all, faded or streaked prints, and blurred or fuzzy text:

    Why can't it be simple?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

True waste of time. When I first hooked the printer up, it printed fine. The day after, I got errors because I didn't have any photo paper loaded (but I was not trying to print photos, why should that matter?). Then I kept getting "looking for printer" errors. I had to spend an hour on the phone with customer service because of some network errors (printer is on 2G but my wifi is on 5G??). Really don't know why it has to be this complicated, but the printer still won't print.

Printer has errors, such as paper jam, when there is no paper jam, and cartridge jam error which I could not see any jam. HP warranty is awful as you are required to bring printer to service center, which you have to call, but the number given does not work. You have to bring item then pay for repair and then submit claim to HP, which they can deny for any reason. Will no longer purchase HP products.
