While I like the new 7855 because it's working very well, I much prefer individual color ink cartridges, as well as the convenience of a quick and easy flip-down opening at the front of the printer for paper loading (as with the HP 7520). These two things in particular are the reason for a 4-star instead of a 5-star rating.

Prints fast - burns through ink even faster

After talking to a sales rep, we were convinced this machine was ink-efficient and quick. My brother ink lasted several months and only ran me around $30 each time. I have had this printer since June, and I have gone through the starter ink that came with the machine, and two each of color and black ink- both XL versions of the ink! I started with two teams of paper when I night the machine. I just opened my second ream. The XL ink says it prints approximately 600 pages, I have gone through two and a half of these, which, if my math is correct, should have lasted me about 1350 pages. A ream of paper is 500 pages, and I only just opened a second ream. Bottom line- the ink is overpriced and does not last the number of pages promised. I will be taking this one back and going back to a Brother machine. I can not afford HPs ink guzzling machines.

I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't happy with the printer's ink consumption. We're certainly committed to providing a more economical experience with our printers, so I can imagine how disappointing this must be. With that said, I’d like to see what I can do to help.
I have a few suggestions for lowering ink consumption that you might try if you haven't already. First, I recommend using the printer's draft mode, as this can often improve ink usage. Following that, you could also set the printer to print black and white only. If your printer usage is minimal, another thing to consider is Instant Ink's subscription plan that allows you to print 15 pages a month for free. Possibly due to my age (79) I had the same problem with this one. It took a home visit to fix that. Which brings me to my HP Envy 7855. My only issue with this and other printers is the window is very small and information very limited. I should not have to go on the internet to find and answer or help that I can read.Other wise, I would buy this printer again.

Area for paper loading very flimsy

The color photo on photo paper isn't very good quality and I've tried a few to make sure it wasn't just the one photo. Also, the part where you load the paper is so lightweight nd doesnt fit back together well when closing. I think at some point soon it just might break out of my frustration...
