Frustrating piece of plastic

First of all, it drinks ink like water and, of course, the ink is expensive. I print almost everything in black and white now. Second, when the printer runs out of paper (which is often because the tray is small), it does not alert you that the print failed. My printer is on a different floor than my computer so I don't see it print. When you reload paper, the printer STILL SAYS IT IS OUT OF PAPER!!! You have to turn off the printer and let it reset itself. It is ridiculous. I bought this HP to replace an Epson with a broken print head. The quality of the HP prints are better, but the Epson was not this infuriating. I will continue my quest to find a quality machine that doesn't cost half of my mortgage. This HP is not it.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing these problems or whether they’re related, but you should definitely get a warning when the paper runs out. So, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

They are of good quality but was disappointed this one does not automatically update. I always use HP paper and does not seem to quite have the vibrant tones that my prior printer had.

I love this printer, it works great. Since it is wireless I can be in another room and print. It only uses 2 cartridges (some use more) so that makes me happy. It is compact so does not take up a lot of room. Great printer for the price. I highly recommend it.

Called customer service and they set it up for me remotely. Gotta love it. I was printing a large quantity of pages and the service directed me to Instantink and in a week I received my new ink and I do not have to pay for this service for four months. I recommend this product.
