||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.being a non geek person it took longer than I expected to set it up. Once it was set up no problems and am enjoying it use. The person who helped me was not pushy but explained what each did and let me decide

A good printer for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already own 2 hp printers. I ve been pleased with them. This new one I have used several times and am satisfied with its performance. The ink does not dry out as quickly as the other two do.

Good But A Little Slow
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little slower printing than anticipated but for the money works pretty good. Scan option leaves resolution of the image darker than it appears in real life.

Scanner Out of Date
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd HP 7855 but I was very disappointed when the scanner did not work and then was told by the Geek Squad that the scanner element was out of date and would not work. I now have to go through the HP app to scan. No big deal--just an annoyance that I wasn't informed of this prior to purchase.

Great for a day, then toast
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked just fine for 1 day, then kept getting a message on the screen that said the paper tray was open...but it isn't and wasn't. After an hour and a half with HP they determined that it was a mechanical problem and the who9jle printer had to be replaced. Now I have to go fight with Best Buy to replace it and to have a Geek member install it...again.

Avoid HP and Best Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible product. And Best Buy support of non-existent and HP's support is also awful. Ink Cartridges will not seat properly, and neither will the paper tray. Specifics: With a ridiculous number (15?) of attempts I got the ink cartridges to stay put... and then a week later the paper tray would not close. Only Heavens knows what will happen with the 4 extra new cartridges I bought - maybe I wasted a lot of money if they too cannot be seated properly. This product, solf new at full price, is being discontinued but this did not stop Best Buy from selling it nor standing behind it. HP "support is useless. I was on hold forever and then got an incompetent person. A very sad state for two once proud and responsive corporations - now seemingly given to grabbing money ad running away.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry you’ve run into so much difficulty with your printer. I can wholly understand why problematic ink cartridge installation and a paper tray that won’t close – not to mention failing to receive the support you need – would add up to a tremendous frustration. I want to help you out of this dilemma, so I’ll provide a resource aimed at making that happen.
I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the issues you describe, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

Won't print PDF files
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer a month ago to replace my very old HP Photosmart. It's very easy to set up, is quiet when printing, and the print quality on documents is great. (I've not used it to print photos yet.) Most of my printing is emails, recipes I find online, and documents generated through Etsy (I have a home-based business on Etsy). Each of those items prints immediately. When it comes to PDF documents, this printer is beyond frustrating. I either get partial pages, no pages, or multiples copies of the same pages. In one night one 20-some page document yielded over 70 pages - some pages printed once, some three or four times, and no page was complete! (This was the first PDF document I tried to print - I clicked "print" thinking it would print normally. Wrong!) Then I'll continually get messages that the printer is in error mode (upwards of 20 notifications, one or two a minute.) If I go into settings, it tells me the photo paper tray is empty (I'm not printing photos) or the printer is offline (when it isn't). I have tried everything I can think of, including going into advanced settings to print as an image, and it still only prints a partial page if it prints at all. I did not purchase Geek Squad coverage as it never occurred to me a printer would print everything but PDF files. I've searched online to try to find a solution, but nothing has worked. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, since printing PDFs is a huge part of my business. Right now I want to dropkick this printer into tomorrow.

Posted .Hi,
I am very sorry that you've been having problems printing PDF files, even though the printer seems to print very well otherwise.
There is probably a compatibility problem between the Adobe Reader program (that controls the PDF files) and your printer software. There are some detailed steps about how to fix that online: support.hp.com/document/c01879546
That should fix it, but if there is still a problem, you could try downloading the full-featured software for your printer. That can be found (and a nice diagnostic tool too BTW) at:
