I loved my photo smart printer that I had for years but it just stopped working. from what I understood, this was the “upgrade.” It constantly goes off-line when I try to print from my phone as well as from my laptop. It’s actually been quite a nightmare.

Printing not working well. Color not showing up. Picture out of focus and had lines through them. Also I wasn't aware the it didn't print an 8x10 picture anyway. I bought this as a Christmas gift so I needed to return it. I had no problem doing so. Staff was very helpful.

I bought this printer to replace an HP Photosmart C7180 which made beautiful photo prints. That printer had 6 separate ink cartridges for black and all colors and they lasted a long time. This model has only one color cartridge for all the colors and it does a horrible job of separating them when printing. Flesh tones come out purple and greens look yellow. The cartridges don't last long and when one color is used up, the whole cartridge has to be discarded. It's useless even for non-photo color printing. Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage.

      Hi, Ed.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed poorly regarding print quality. I understand why this would be a big disappointment as well as frustrating, especially considering that your previous HP printer had such good print quality. With that in mind, I’ll offer a few suggestions I hope will help remedy the situation.

I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

HP was my go to printer company since the 1990’s. Can’t say that anymore. The last 2 wireless printers were problematic. Intermittent connection. Constant reloading of the drivers on my devices was required. This time the auto feeder broke after a couple of weeks. I need to explore other options

      Hi, Ron.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer, after working well for a year, has begun to render prints of poor quality and sometimes doesn’t print at all. I can wholly understand why this would be an unwelcome surprise. I want to help you resolve the situation, so I’ll direct you to some resources and information I hope will make that happen.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in a guide on our support site to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text. Find that guide here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

If you need further support, there are options. HP printers have a one-year warranty from the purchase date that covers basic support as well as hardware and supplies; some buyers purchase an extended warranty that runs beyond the one year. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

If your printer is still covered, you can contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution.

If your printer is no longer covered, you might consider posting the details of your issue on our support forums. This is an active community of seasoned experts, including some former and current HP employees, who can work with you to get your printer running as it should. To access this, visit the following link:

I hope this helps and, again, our sincerest apologies.

    Worst printer ever

Absolute worst printer I’ve ever owned! I’ve only owned this printer for about 6 months and the print quality went downhill fast. I’ve only printed from it maybe a total of 5 times and it prints like it is out of ink even though the cartridges are full. I’m so disappointed in this printer, it won’t even print black or color anymore all that comes out is a page full of barley seeable streaks. Don’t waste your money

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has rendered prints of such poor quality. It’s no surprise that you’re a bit shocked and frustrated, considering you’ve had the printer six months and used it only a handful of times. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll provide some clarifying information as well as some resources I hope will reach that end.

First, because you’ve used the printer so few times over the course of six months, its performance could relate to its idle state between uses. For example, if a person shuts down the printer between uses but does not use the power button on the device, the printer does not “park” itself and thus leaves the nozzles that spray ink onto paper open to excess drying.

Regardless, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. Terrible, ate 2 color cartridges in 2 days, printed total 25 pages of blood lab reports. used blue and red dots on graphs. It should not have ate or used up the color cartridge that fast, barely using colors involved. No wonder why they make you feel you need to join HP Print refill co. Also when shutting it off, the out put tray does not retrack. So I returned it. I chose it because all of the great reviews from Best Buy on it, which I will never trust again. now gives me doubts of any future reviews on products.

Nice all-around printer printer/scanner but at almost exactly 14 months the ADF failed. We have only used it lightly and are on the third toner cartridge. This is truly a consumer grade printer so don't expect a long life.

      Hi, Doug.

Thanks for the review and the feedback. While I’m glad you’ve liked your printer and scanner overall, I’m sorry to hear that the document feeder stopped working after you’d had it a little more than a year. It’s easy to understand why that would be quite a letdown, especially considering you’ve not used the device much. I want to help you remedy the situation, so I’ll offer some resources I hope will make that happen.

First, if you’ve not done so already, I recommend you follow the steps in this guide to document feeders that fail to pick up any paper or pull through too many pages at once:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503

If you need further support, there are options. HP printers have a one-year warranty from the purchase date that covers basic support as well as hardware and supplies. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

I dislike this printer a lot. I have an online business so I grabbed this printer for both shipping labels and related paperwork. It does both very poorly. I have tried different brands of shipping labels and none are very successful. I recently bought a Rollo printer to replace this printer for my shipping needs and I can’t describe how much I love that Rollo. Also, any large printing orders is a no go for this printer. Any document over 10 pages will almost always result in a jam or misprint. I have called HP and the CS wasn’t very helpful. They suggested different brands of paper which of course is something that I tried before contacting them. I’ll be replacing this unit once it’s replacement comes.
