Piece of junk
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just did a review on an incredible Brother printer I bought to replace this broken waste of money. Then this item popped up to review. I was shocked that I bought this HP only a year ago. I had nothing but problems from the get go. I have bought several HP printers in the past and always had issues way to soon in the life of a printer. I do very little printing so a good printer should last me much longer. I'm not going to repeat my Brother review but I'm am more than happy with my new printer.

Nothing But Problems.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer 7 months ago to replace my old HP. I don’t use it very often but it’s been nothing but problems. The printer won’t stay connected to the Wi-Fi and has to be restarted with every use. The ink it came with lasted for about 10 pages. And using HPs customer service is just additional frustration without a solution. I very much regret this purchase.

Posted .Hi, Steph.
I’m sorry you’ve had such a dreadful time with your printer. I can wholly understand why unreliable connectivity, rapid ink use and not receiving the support you need would be quite discouraging. I want to help you resolve these issues, so I’ll provide some resources and clarifying information aimed at reaching that goal.
First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity. You can find that page here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
Next, I can’t say for certain what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than ones in our Instant Ink program.
If you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 415 to 600 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 165 to 200 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.
Regardless, if your results differ dramatically from the estimates above – or if you need further assistance with connectivity – I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this printer in December and wasn't able to set it up until after the first of the year. I have only printed on the machine approximately 6 or 7 times. After about 3 times using it, the machine started squeaking when warming up and when printing. While printing yesterday the machine quite and I am not even able to shut it off with the power button. Very disappointed!! Also to top it off, I am not able to reach anybody at the store to get assistance!

Cannot recommend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to replace an earlier HP model, which was excellent, lasted for years, very reliable and easy on the ink usage. This model is glitchy, the wireless connection drops in & out repeatedly, the touch screen malfunctioned within a month, the print is not as sharp as the previous (older) model, and it absolutely drinks ink. It is very inferior to the previous model. Would not recommend this printer.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has underperformed in several ways. I can understand how connectivity trouble coupled with print quality and other issues you describe would quickly become a big frustration. Given that, I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

Dead on delivery from Best Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer was clearly used with smears on the glass and no plastic prtection for the cord. I could never get past the "Ink Cartridge Problem" error message, even with troubleshooting, so the printer was useless. This looked like a used item, sold as new. Not well done, Best Buy. Very disappointing.

Posted .Hi there.
I am so sorry to hear that you received what sounds like a used printer. I can imagine how disappointing and disconcerting this must have been, so I want to make sure that I provide information to help you make it right.
First, I can’t say for sure what happened in your situation, but what you describe can occur when a printer is sold, returned to the seller, then sold again to a different buyer without being adequately inspected before shipment. Because you expected to receive a new printer, I recommend you contact the seller to address this promptly. You can find the seller by scrolling to the bottom of the Best Buy website and clicking Orders & Returns.
I will also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date, so you might make use of it if you need to. To verify the warranty, you can use the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
Remember you can always contact us for support whenever you need as well. We're always here and more than happy to help you. You can reach us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

Works for 6 months and then no tech support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased on October 8, 2017; worked well with light use and then stopped printing legibly. Downloaded all updates, repeated diagnostic fixes including printer head cleaning and alignment many times with no results. Called "support" three times and was hung up on after lengthy waits.. Will attempt to return this to Best Buy and exchange for something that works. Hewlett and Packard must be rolling over in their graves.

Posted .Hello,
I am very sorry that the printer is not printing well. I hope to be able to help.
It seems like you have tried most of the steps recommended in the print quality documentation for your printer. It sounds like you might have empty or clogged cartridges.
With this printer, the printheads are connected to the cartridges.and it is very important to always use the power button on the printer to turn it off. That "parks" it so that the cartridge nozzles are protected from excessive drying and clogging. When the nozzles are badly clogged, the cartridges need to be replaced.
If replacing the cartridges with good ones doesn't help, please contact us. To ensure you are actually talking to an HP tech, be sure to use the contacts indicated at: hp.com/contactHP

Very disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We owned this printer for barely a year. Just outside of the warranty. The gears inside started to grind and at the end, prints were blurry. The windows driver was constantly displaying that it was out of paper when there was plenty. Apparently if you don’t have small photo paper and regular paper the tray it reports that as out of paper. This printer should have lasted at least 3 years. Our print volume was maybe 200 pages a month average.
