Poor timing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't rate because the installer didn't offer to show me how it works. Same make as the old one but an upgrade which I didn't need but was the only one in stock. Have been sick and not able to stay on top of things. (Getting better but not great) That's why other questions were not answered! Can only print from the PC screen! That's whyi the poor rating.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a difficult start with your new printer. The frustration you express is certainly understandable, considering you were not given instructions on how the device operates, you’ve been sick, and now you’ve encountered limited functionality with printing. I want to help improve your experience with the printer, so I’ll point you toward some resources aimed at making that happen.

Worst Printer Ever Owned
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this printer for home usage. The printer doesnt connect to my windows laptop. Keep getting error message that paper is empty when it has paper in it. Only prints 10 pages and then stops regardless of total number of pages. Print quality is extremely grainy and blurred. I am beyond frustrated with this printer.

None working printer.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer worked one time. Then stopped working. Unfortunately, I did not return it in time for the warranty. So, I’m just stuck with it. The Gerk Squad came to my house and told me it’s a problem with the printer and not my fault but I had no options for exchange or replacement. I did contact HP and the were no help. So, I paid $200 for a non working printer.

Do Not Buy HP Printer Envy Photo 7855
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an HP Envy Photo 7855 in January, 2018. Big mistake. Out of the box it had a hardware problem, HP replaced it with a refurbished that lasted 8 months and then broke. I just got the second replacement, turned it on and made a noise like a cement truck. I'm told it's a hardware problem. Three printers in less than 9 months. They want to give me a $130 credit at HP.com but I don't really want another HP product. Pure junk.

Posted .Hey Hank,
I'm tremendously sorry to hear that you've experienced issues with all three printers. I can certainly understand how disappointing this experience has been. We always hold ourselves to a high standard of quality with our printers, so I hope you’ll allow us an opportunity to stand by that in the future.
Despite this experience, I hope that you'll allow us an opportunity to help you find one that better suits your needs going forward. We'd love a chance to make things right with the consistent experience that we intended on providing from the start.

Slowest printer I have used in over a decade!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sold on this printer for the many features it offered and it all sounds great until you print your first document and it takes more than 10 minutes to print 10 pages. The scan to e-mail function does not work, it shows as loading and that’s it. I have had to just turn the printer off and take a photo on my phone to send documents to e-mail. Save yourself the headache and do not purchase this product!

Bad printer
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Actually, I wantd to give it a -1 review rating. Less than a year old and I cannot do anything with it!! It says the black cartridge is improperly installed. I changed the cartridge and continue getting the same message. The in-home consultation agent could not repair it. I have to take it to the store??

Never printed a decent picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We installed the printer and tried to print. The picture was streaked and blurry. We thought it was the included ink cartridges, so we tried a new cartridge the pictures were even worse with the new cartridges. We had a computer tech look at it and they determined that the print heads were faulty - right out of the box. We returned the printer immediately for a refund. Best Buy was wonderful about the return.

Posted .Hey there,
I'm so sorry to hear that the printer was faulty from the start. This is very upsetting, and far from the reliable experience that we always intend on providing. I regret that we fell short this time and that you had to return the printer, but I am happy to hear that the return process was seamless.
Despite this experience, I do hope that you'll allow us another opportunity in the future to stand by the quality that we pride ourselves on. We would be grateful for a chance to make things right.

Won’t print in color!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased, got set up with “instant ink” got the ink, everything installed correctly, only prints in black and white. Took back to store, yup, won’t work. Replaced with another one, now we are fighting to transfer the “instant ink” deal. Don’t recommend this printer and don’t recommend signing up with instant ink.

Posted .Hi there,
I'm so sorry for this misunderstanding regarding Instant Ink rolling over to your new printer. I can fully understand how inconvenient this has been and I assure you that wasn’t at all our intention. To that end, I'd love to clarify some things for you and provide you with a helpful resource or two going forward.
First, I do want to confirm that Instant Ink subscriptions don't automatically roll over to new or replacement printers. With that said, you can still add the printers to your Instant Ink account effortlessly. Here's some information on how to go about that: support.hp.com/document/c04754134
If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to contact our Instant Ink Support team. They would be more than happy to help, so you can give them a call at +1 855‑785‑2777.

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this printer in hopes of using it for the home business. This would not print. We would constantly get an error and it would freeze. We powered it down and tried again and again. Called support and they said there was something wrong with it and to return it for replacement. We returned it and brought the other one home and it did the exact same thing. We returned it for refund and purchased a Canon.

Terrible
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate this printer. It runs out of ink really quickly and if you don’t print for a month or two the ink dries up and the print quality becomes terrible. I’ve repeatedly cleaned the print heads and run alignments and the printing remains streaky and the printouts unusable. A total waste of money.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has been so problematic. It’s no surprise that you’re frustrated, considering you’ve dealt with poor print quality and dried out ink cartridges despite extensive troubleshooting. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll direct you to a resource and some information I hope will make that happen.
First, the cartridges should not be drying out in such a short time if you don’t use the printer. I believe this as well as the chronic print quality issues deserve further investigation. I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. - Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

hate this printer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.burns through ink, not user friendly. Pictures always smudge, scanner software was nearly impossible to finally locate and was a separate download. I'm sure I'm not gaining all I could, but again, I bought this under the premise that I would be getting Geek Squad support.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer is rendering prints of poor quality and using ink more rapidly than you’d anticipated. I can understand why that would be quite a frustrating combination, so I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help.
I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly, and blurred or fuzzy text:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385
Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
- A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.
If any problem persists, or you need assistance with other issues, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting.
