Didn’t work out of the box, bad printer

Didn’t work out of the box. Had to spend many hours with HP Support. They finally diagnosed it as a flawed HP cartridge. They mailed me one that took a week and a half to get. I wish I just returned the printer and purchased a different brand.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that a cartridge issue and a lengthy session of phone support stood in the way of getting your printer working. I can clearly understand why that would be a dubious beginning, but because we aim to provide a reliable experience with our printers and support, I’ll try to offer some helpful suggestions.

First, to learn more about your printer and all its features, or for help solving problems, you can access video tutorials, user manuals, how-to documents, software updates and troubleshooting guides here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-photo-7800-all-in-one-printer-series/9073159/model/9073160

For additional help, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including setup, cartridge installation and connectivity. There you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If there's any specific way that we can help you, I hope you’ll get in touch with us directly for support. We're always here and would be more than happy to help you make the most of your experience with the printer. On our site you can get help from a virtual agent, get troubleshooting documents specific to your printer or search our extensive knowledge library. Get in touch via this link: support.hp.com

I bought this device twice and both times I have had the same issue with printing. I had done everything to try to fix the device even called Total Tech support but nothing. I took it back and got a different brand. I have owned HPs printers for over 10 years but something always happened. I was very disappointed.

This is the worst printer I've ever purchased. I don't print often, maybe once a month and each time I have to go through 15-20 minutes of diagnosis to get it to print. I've tried it with multiple computers. This is just a really terrible printer. I regret purchasing it.

      Hi, Ally.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed so poorly for you. I can wholly understand your feelings of regret, seeing that you go through extensive troubleshooting whenever you need to use the device. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll direct you to some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity and printer-offline difficulties, which I suspect might underlie the unreliable performance you describe. Otherwise, on the same page you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. You can find that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped printing like it should. I can’t tell exactly what you mean in your review by “operating but not printing,” but I suspect it might be processing paper but not delivering any ink. Regardless, I’ll provide some resources I hope will help you resolve the problem.

First, if you’ve not done so already, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including when color or black ink – or both – doesn’t print properly or at all:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

If you need further support, there are options. HP printers have a one-year warranty from the purchase date that covers basic support as well as hardware and supplies. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

If your printer is still covered, you can contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution.

If your printer is no longer covered, you might consider posting the details of your issue on our support forums. This is an active community of seasoned experts, including some former and current HP employees, who can work with you to get your printer running as it should. To access this, visit the following link:
      - hp.com/supportforum

I hope this helps and, again, sincerest apologies.

The HP ENVY Photo 7855 is the second HP printer we purchased in the last three years which malfunctioned within a year. Fortunately this time we purchased the service agreement and were able to get our money back. Do not rec HP Printers. I print my documents at the library = a piece of mind - stress free.

I went through the "Clean Cartridges" process 5 times for each printer, and that did NOTHING to correct the problem! Will be returning this 2nd one also, and the go with a non-HP brand!!!
