I’ve had several hp printers.this one is junk. I’ve been working with someone at HP but no one can figure it out. When I print one page at a time its fine but when I print numerous pages most of them print 3/4 of a page and then print the bottom 1/4 on a second page. It’s so frustrating

I will keep this short. I bought this printer for pictures. It does an excellent job picture quality-wise. BUT..it consumes the multi-color ink at an incredible, ridiculous rate. I am not getting even 1/3 the pages HP says the each ink reservoir should provide. I should have stuck with Canon.

The ENVY Photo 7855 is an absolutely beautifully designed printer, and this has become a staple with HP. It has all the features you expect from an all-in-one, even the dated, but dutiful fax machine. Well, I pull it out of the box, remove all the tape and restraints, then power it up for setup. The instructions are very straightforward and simple to follow, and I love that HP offers software and setup via any device - hello, everyone doesn't want to setup everything using their phone. Here is where the problems begin for me with HP printers. The setup process was not without hiccups, halts, and confusion. The printer didn't move through the process as seamlessly as expected - I waited until I thought it was finished, but was it. These problems also translate to issues with the printer when in operation. I had the printer go crazy at one point. It was sitting idle, and all of a sudden began flashing every light on the front panel and displaying an erroneous list of error boxes. SMH! This has been my problem with every HP printer I have owned - software issues. Whether it has been wifi inconsistencies, networking issues, print driver issues, etc., I have had a history of software issues using their printers. As far as printing performance, it is second to none in its class. I mean, it really does an excellent job at both printing quickly and producing great looking documents, as well as gorgeous photos. I love the way feeder tray holds both primary paper and photo paper - very convenient. I also admire the flexibility offering printing from devices seamlessly. All in all, this is a printer that could be recommended on print quality alone, but the importance of software consistency in today's world cannot be ignored. It's basically a 5 star printer with 1 star software. The software design is there, but it's too buggy and inconsistent.

Poorly designed I had two of this model and had the same paper jam problem with both. Asked Geek Squad to come and repair and because of the Covid virus they never came out. Their comment was for me to change the type paper. Now I see where they ARE NOT RETURNABLE, VERY DISAPPOINTING.

I was able to print about eight 8 x 10 pages and it stopped working. The indicator stated paper jam. All areas checked and there was no paper jam. I tried to reset the machine, unplug it, restart it etc. No luck! Very disappointed! I give it a ZERO!

      Hi, Robjn.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped working so soon after you got it. The disappointment you express is certainly understandable, considering you printed eight pages before getting a paper jam error message that you couldn’t clear even though no jam exists. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll suggest a resource and provide some information I hope will make that happen.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the paper jam message or why you can’t clear it, but I believe it deserves further investigation. I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. Hi,

I am so sorry that you've had a bad experience with this printer. This is not what we hope will happen to customers!

If you have set the paper guides precisely and all that, many times it is the paper itself that is causing the jams. A small ripple or lots of humidity can cause the paper to not feed correctly. There are some tips about how to avoid problems here: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04518237

First off, right off the bat, I have to say that this is by far the easiest printer setup process I've ever done!. Whats in the box: not much. The printer, some small in cartridges, and some setup guides. Features: Quite a few. Wifi, bluetooth, USB ports, ADF feeder, flatbed scanner, separate photo paper tray, fax (who faxes these days?) Setup: like I said, VERY easy! I've set up many a printers in my days, and this one is a cakewalk. You plug it in, put the ink in, goto 123.hp.com and type in what kind of printer you have....and via magic (or low power bluetooth.....) it does everything else. No clumsy wifi setup on the printer itself, no searching and digging for software....it just does it for you. I have both mac and PC at my house, and it worked flawlessly on all of them to get it set up and running. There is also an Android and iOS app that allows you to to printer settings and print photos as well. Use: I noticed that when printing a picture from my iPhone via AirPrint, the crop was WAY off. Once I printed from the HP app on my phone, it worked just fine. The scanner works very quickly, with nice results. The printer is plenty fast, and doesn't do many "noise of my people" noises when you would like to print....it just prints. Cons: It comes with small in cartridges, which forces you to get new ones fairly quickly. This printer does have the new instant ink features, and I am signed up, but haven't received new cartridges yet. I'm not sure about the value of instant ink...but it seems ok (basically $3.99 a month for the cheapest one, and you get new ink when the printer says you need more ink. You can print unto 50 sheets per month with this package). Of note: it was making a very loud grinding noise when I first started using it. I opened and closed every compartment I could think of, and the noise went away. The printer only has a tricolor ink, and a black ink. So once the tricolor runs out of a single color, you have to get an entire new cartridge. Photo print quality is not bad. Not the best, but not the worst either.

      Hey there,

While I'm happy to hear the printing functions of the printer are working well, I'm very sorry to hear that you're experiencing some slowness with scanning. I can definitely imagine how inconvenient this would be, so let's see what I can do to help remedy this for you.

While scan speeds vary based on the complexity of a document, you certainly shouldn't be waiting an excessive amount of time. What I'd recommend is updating your printer's firmware, as this can often improve scan speed. The firmware download can be found at: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/model/9073160

If what I've suggested doesn't seem to improve scan speed, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly for support. We would be more than glad to walk through further troubleshooting with you if necessary. You can get in touch with us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP
