It worked great while it lasted.. scanning was super easy and I like the HP ink program it offers. That way you’re never out of ink.. but it stopped scanning through the feeder and had to take it back after 4 yrs. Good thing I had 5yr warranty on it.. :)

    Easy setup

I rarely offer up reviews of products I've purchased as I seem to leave this task for others to perform. But in this case I changed my mind after having this printer now for a month. The setup was extremely easy and downloading and getting the HP app to work was per the instructions. A thumbs-up to both. The printing has been exceptional for the price point on this printer. I can save on paper by printing double-sided or choose single-sided to keep the lumber companies in business. All images, whether black & white or color seem to come out looking very sharp. I have not done a lot of photo printing yet and will update this review later if necessary but I expect good results there as well using HP photo paper. That's my story for now and I'm sticking to it.

    Stylish Printer and Many Options

First i want to say this printer is stylish and modern looking all the way to the packaging, this printer doesn't look like your average all in one home printer. It's touch screen, has options for usb and sd card, and you can literally connect by wifi (direct). It's an ink cartridge printer (although they look smaller then average color cartridges). It's also a fax, scanner, and of course a printer. I have a mid 2010s Imac computer. I tried to install the HP application from HP website (123.hp.com) and for some reason it would not pick up the printer. I was stuck in the process of the printer syncing with the router so it can connect to my computer. At first the app did notice the printer, but after a while it never synced up. I tried installing and uninstalling the HP app several times and it did not work. I later installed the same HP app to my phone (Galaxy S7) and it sync right away, weird. It's a kind of drag that the printer did not come with cd-rom installation, you have to download the app so the printer can sync up. The app itself has a lot of options, "scan to email, print FB photos, and more personalized options." Nice app for the phone, just wished it would've worked on my Imac since the printer will be mostly used with the computer for my schooling and reports. I manage to connect my imac with the printer using the "wifi direct" option in the printer, but it's a major inconvenience because in order for me to connect to the printer i have to disconnect from my home wifi and connect to the printers wifi. I had to look up the printers wifi password on the printer itself, so ultimately i have switch wifi networks(home to printers) every time i want to print. I did not like that. As for the touch screen option, it's a nice touch (pun intended) but the screen itself is kind of small for all the touch screen options it has, when i try to scroll down it kind of lags. I'll have to get used to it. I scanned and printed a couple of family pictures and the colors and details are great. It's really a nice all in one printer. The printer itself comes with a starter park of glossy paper so you can start printing pictures out of the box right away. It is really a modern looking printer, just need to make the screen a little bigger or have some other buttons to navigate besides the power button. I would recommend.

HP 7855 Great printer & Setup

    Posted .

Just brought home the HP7855 after my other HP died after 7 years. Was looking initially at the higher end Espon's and HP's but with service help was convinced to look at the 7855 since it could do photo printing. Not disappointed so far. Install was the easiest I have ever experience and I'm pretty technical. After a few simple settings via the front panel of the printer the rest is completed easily with the new iPhone app via a step by step process. You can also use the app to print from you phone, scan to email and scan to dropbox. Printing is very sharp and not bad for photos. It's not going to replace higher print services but great for basic 4 x 6s and Christmas cards. The printer also came with a 2 month trial of HPs replacement ink service. Since Best Buy has a 30 return policy it's a no brainer to check it out before you commit. Everything is easily setup on-line with HP. Only challenge I had was getting the Printer code. You have to go to the front of the printer, find the web services icon then click printer info. Once I got the code (which was via email) everything was verified. If you want a great printer with plenty of options for a low price this is the one. This is one device that paying more is not alway worth it. Check the on-line reviews as well they all provide high marks as well. Also, if you take you old printer to best buy (even if it is not working) they will give you a coupon for another $15.00 off the sale price. Best Buy is even cheaper than purchasing via Amazon etc. WIN WIN

    HP Envy Photo 7855 printer

I ordered this printer based on the recommendation of a trusted IT professional. Am very pleased with it. Set up was very easy; didn't take long. Print quality is sharp and colors are accurate. It is not as fast as my last printer but certainly fast enough for home use. It is a little noisy but not annoyingly so. I am happy with with printer. It is an especially a good deal based on the price point.

    Disappointed!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The printer has a couple of pros: easy set up, quiet, prints quickly. Now to the cons: was told by the Best Buy employee that it comes with full ink cartridges - not the case, had to buy a new color cartridge after printing only 2 pictues and the picture quality is very subpar. I sometimes have to print pictures multiple times (in multiple different settings) before it actually prints correctly. The pictures that do print are not as crisp as I would like them. Many of my pictures require a lot of editing before the color looks right on them (when I print) - I've never had to do that with other printers. Wish I was still within my deadline to return this printer. If you are looking for a printer, that prints quality looking pictures, this isn't it. I don't even want it to print that many pictures and it still can't do it. Disappointed in this printer.

As a wireless printer, it'd be 1 star

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For a long time, I had to manually turn it on, then force a power off, then power it back up. Only then would it print. Turns out there's a design flaw. It can't come out of sleep mode if it's connected wireless, and the default setting is to go back into sleep mode in 5 minutes. I recently connected it via ethernet, and it does wake up now. If I reviewed it as a wireless printer, it'd be 1 star Once you get the print head aligned and cleaned, it does a good job of printing, and it'll scan 8.5x11 to PDF at about 4ppm, more than adequate for home use. One design feature that I like is the print head is part of the cartridge. My previous Artisan died because it started leaking ink somewhere between the cartridges and the print head. The paper tray isn't huge, but, I've got a laserjet for the larger B&W print jobs.

Good printer, HP smart useless on PC

Easy and nice to use thanks to the touch screen. The print quality is good for documents, photos, images. Loving the automatic duplexing and the document feeder for multi scanning. Signing up for Instant Ink is a bit complicated when you have to pairing the printer, however, I'm really pleased with this service especially for the 4 months free ink (plus one month with my refer code : w5gwtm). HP smart application offers too limited settings and options for the scanner. I prefer old fashioned drivers on windows, even if you have to download them from HP support (print and scan drivers). Overall I recommend this printer for its functionality, touch controls, print quality, and the cartridge delivery service. However, HP should make easier the installation of printing software on Windows 10 (instead of HP smart application mainly developed for ios and android).

I purchased this printer 2 years ago & use it daily. I change the printer ink monthly if that gives you an idea of my usage. It's a lot! I have only had 2 instances where I ran into printing issues, where I couldn't get it to print color. This was the same issue both times & turned out to just be that he ink heads needed to be cleaned. There was a little more to the fix & I got phone support from HP. The customer support rep walked me through it each time & made sure I was good to go. Great service on the HP end & no long wait times! For everyday heavy printing that juggles between regular documents, color prints AND photo printing, I have no complaints.

    HP for the win again!

Overall, we are very happy with the printer. Our almost 10-year old HP multi-function recently died and this printer is a great replacement. Our print needs are simple, and this is great for a home office environment where you need to print and scan documents periodically. My only frustration is with the tray that auto-extends when a print job runs. I need to figure out how this can be closed automatically instead of me manually closing it.
