    Nothing but trouble!

I have had the worst experience with this printer. The first printer would scan and copy, but not pull the paper into the feeder. (I could hear the beep saying the paper was loaded, and then the rollers rolled, but the paper did not feed). I had the Geek Squad spend several hours remotely operating the system and she determined it was a faulty printer. I took it back to Best Buy and they replaced it. The second printer could not be recognized by my computer. Again, Geek Squad spent several hours remotely trying to get them to communicate, without success and he determined it was another faulty printer. Unbelievable! I took it back to Best Buy and they said since it was more than 14 days, I needed to send it back to HP. When I chatted with an HP rep, he gave me the run around and would not send a shipping box! I have spent many, many hours with these two printers. And I STILL don't have a printer! I'm almost ready to smash it to pieces, box it, and ship it back and forfeit what I paid for it, I will never buy HP again!

    not worth much

It worked for about 4 mos, then quit. I tried HPs Doctor app, but that got me to a point that would just feed paper and print a little garbage on each sheet of a test print. When I tried to print from my laptop, it just says out of paper which it is not. I have tried printing from multiple laptops, but same results.

      Hi, Scott.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped working after you’d had it only four months. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll offer a resource and some information aimed at reaching that goal.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing these problems or whether they’re related, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. - Serial number
      - Your location

    Problematic printer from the start.

The black ink cartridge that came with the printer could not be detected. It appears that others have had the same problem when researching for a solution online. No solution when following all the troubleshooting tips from the HP website, HP forum, and over the phone. Updated the printer was not a solution to the problem either.

    Stopped working after 6 months

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The quality of the color non-photo prints and black prints was poor. I bought the printer 2/26/20. It stopped working 8/225/20. When i send a document to the printer a blank piece of paper comes out. Prior to blanks coming out, the prints were so light as to be unreadable. I was using HP ink. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER OR AN HP PRINTER

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This printer does not work. I bought it and it worked fine. but then I needed to change the black ink. The printer would not let me go forward because it said the brand new color ink cartridge had to be replaced. So I sent the printer back on the warranty for a new printer. The new printer worked fine, but then the black ink had to be replaced. Again, the printer was unusable because it wanted me to change the color ink, so I did that (even though the color ink should have been fine since I rarely use that). I put in a brand new, HP color ink cartridge. STILL does not work. But HP managed to delay everything (between the prior problem and COVID) so now the printer is off warranty. This printer has two problems: 1. Faulty design that you have to get the ink cartridge to be recognized or the printer will not work at all. 2. The printer does not recognize new color cartridges. Both are fatal to buying it ever.

    MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Does a decent job of printing letters and small photos and gives the options of what quality you want BUT HP is not Mac friendly and if you need to eventually download and install a new printer driver, it is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. The HP help section through their website isn't "HELPFUL" and provides no direction as to what specific driver you might need for a specific MacOS version you may have upgraded to. I keep getting a warning on my Mac "software will damage your printer"... So, be warned and maybe look for another company other than HP for your printing needs if you own a Mac computer.

Take it back to the drawing board

The product, a HP Envy Photo 7855 printer, has design flaws, according to the Geek Squad tech who tried to help me get it through the setup process. He was able to find a temporary patch online that would enable it to print, but it would not solve the issue with the carriage holding the ink cartridges. The patch would have to be applied every time I wanted to print something. I’m also finding that HP is not very welcoming to Mac users. The first screen that comes up when logging into the hp website says something like, “We do not recognize your browser.” It is a pain to have to install and use Chrome, just to set up a printer.

    Very unhappy customer of HP

I bought this printer in Sept of this year and I have called HP Support 8 times since for the same issue. The printer stops printing from my desktop (Microsoft). It is wireless and for some reason it works on other devices in the house. Each time I call the uninstall all the stuff and reinstall. In fact each time I try to do this first and it doesn't work. It acts like it's going to print so I know there is some communication then nothing comes out. I'm ready to throw it out the door and get another brand

Terrible print quality, connection, and support

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had so very many issues with this printer. I can't recommend it at all. Despite using genuine HP cartridges, the print quality is terrible with blurry horizontal sections missing from my documents. Additionally, I typically cannot just leave this printer plugged in and print to it. If I try to do that, my computer will error saying that it cannot connect to the printer. It doesn't even work if I power cycle the printer using the power button. It does seem to reset itself to the point where I can actually print things if I pull the power cord out of the back of the unit and plug it back in. Then for about 30mins, I can almost always print things succesfully.

    Product Sucks

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Absolutely the worse printer I have ever bought. Lasted almost a year but pictures had lines then the print would not show up for any human to read. you could hear all the mechanisms working when it began to print thinking that the quality was awesome as you wait for it but it sucked as much as the printer itself. I would say they had a great thought but somewhere they dropped the ball putting it together.... Why complain because money does not grow on trees. If some one buys something they need they are spending money to get just that, something they need and not having to guess is this time the print can be read or not.

    Paper Feed Hardware Problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If the printer actually functioned, I would assume it would be great. However, after opening the box and removing the usual packaging film and going through the alignment process the feed rollers simply will not feed paper through properly if at all. The best case scenario I can hope for after wasting 6-10 sheets of paper is a slightly diagonal print on 8.5x11 with the paper crumpled up at the bottom. I've followed the troubleshooting steps, removed the feed tray, etc etc to no avail. The rollers are clean since they're fresh out of box, there are no scraps of paper left from the 30-40 sheets of shredded paper I've wasted trying to print a simple document, the roller arm is likely misaligned from factory.

      Hi Martin,

I'm so sorry to hear that the printer's rollers haven't fed paper successfully since you first received the printer. It's a shame that you've had to use so much paper in trying to resolve this issue. I assure you that we always aim to deliver a much more reliable experience, so I regret that we fell short here. With that said, we'd be grateful for an opportunity to make amends and rectify this.

Since you've already completed some key troubleshooting, I recommend contacting us for support next. We would be more than happy to arrange for a printer replacement to be sent to you. Whatever the issue of the print carriage being blocked or some other garbage, I couldn't even get out of initializing this piece of garbage since no one seems to have ever had it or no one knows how to fix it. Call HP? Good luck getting someone with decent English. Can't chat with an agent online because I have to create an account first. Two words: (Censored) that. Sadly, it looks like HP is the leader for printers so I'm probably going to be stuck with poor products and worse support.

    WORST PRINTER EVER

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I am going to start out this review by saying I very rarely give bad reviews. I bought this printer for my mother for her birthday because she really wanted to print out photos at home. This printer is at the top of the worst purchases of my life. When I printed out a photo from my phone, it came out distorted and full of ink. It was almost like the printer put as much ink on the photo to create a deeply saturated look. I am distraught with this printer and will be returning it.

      Hey there,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've experienced these complications with your printer's cartridges. More so, it's disappointing to hear that the issue wasn't resolved with those replacement cartridges. Though you mentioned returning the printer, I'd still like to address these issues and help remedy this for you, just in case.

The setup cartridges are indeed needed for setting up the printer, but the error you're receiving is unfortunately out of the ordinary and likely related to a hardware fault. Have to use HP app and login to an account just to use the scanner. Scanner doesn't "grab" paper, you need to coax it into the feeder. Frequent connection issues w/ network. Devours even XL cartridges of extremely expensive ink. Have to pay for HP ink. Sometimes won't enter sleep mode, just stays on. App that you have to use for various functions is slow and generally sucks.

On the right side of the black ink is a tag (plastic) that is crinkled and I assume that is the problem, How does that happen, Don't know done caring and done with HP printers.
