Runs out of ink in TWO WEEKS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It costs $42 x 2 for the XL ink. I put in my first two cartridges barely two weeks ago. The black is already out and the color is almost out. It will cost me almost $200 a month to do normal printing. I had an EPSON Ecotank before this printer and I went months without refilling the ink. And Bestbuy doesn't want to exchange this unit for me. Not happy with bestbusy and definitely not happy with my new printer.

Don’t bother
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible randomly just goes on a black screen with an error code. I would turn it off and wait a while to turn it back on. Finally the numbers stopped working. I’m glad I bought insurance because I was able to return it and get store credit. Back to the drawing board to look for another printer.

Horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer has given me nothing but problems. Defective cartridges after defective cartridges. Randomly disconnects from WiFi. Prints well when it wants to otherwise it’s never solid and always has lines or blank lines when printing. On going battle now for 6 months. Don’t waste your money. My old printer that I had for 10-12 years still prints better than this garbage.

Hard to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.doesn't even print from my iPhone. you think that in the current year this would be a standard feature with basically all printers. either that or Apple just fails to make easy to use software and products these days because I've been trying all day and I haven't been able to print a single email from my phone.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this HP Envy Photo 7855 to replace my older HP. I feel this one prints very slow and uses up so much ink. I don't get nearly half of what you are suppose to be able to print with a new cartridge. I also don't like the fact that you can only have regular paper in or photo paper in at a time to print. I miss my older HP.

OK Printer if you don't need assistance from HP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup instructions are pretty much pathetic, lot of pictures, not much written. HP gave me wrong setup instructions. Never did found out where to download app to smartphone so never d/l picture to printer. Never did connect wifi to anything. One positive is that there is only two ink cartridge to replace. Returned.

Posted .Hey there,
I'm really sorry to hear that the instructions you received didn't provide you with much guidance. This must've been quite disappointing, and I assure you that this is not at all the printer experience that we aim for.
For future reference, we're always here to help during and after the setup process. With that said, I hope that you'll allow us an opportunity in the future to help you find a printer that better suits your printing needs. We would love a chance to make things right with the quality experience that we intended on providing from the start.

Prints lines & jams constantly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 14-year-old bought this last week. It was $190 online. It jams & prints with lines. It is to be used with a business & is no use to us. Will Best Buy take it back?

Posted .Hi there.
I'm sorry to hear that your printer has experienced paper jams and is rendering prints of poor quality. I can certainly see why that would be a no-win combination, especially with a business, so I’ll point you toward some resources and offer some information I hope will help.
I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385
I also suggest going through the steps to clearing and avoiding paper jams that you’ll find in this troubleshooting guide on our support site:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05556825
If either problem persists, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

The ink runs out way too quickly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved everything about this printer until I realized how quickly the ink runs out. I even bought the XL cartridge and it barely lasted one week with moderate printing. Is this normal?
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from HP Team
Posted .Hey Elin,
I'm so sorry to hear that the ink runs out after only a week! We're certainly committed to providing a much more economical experience with our printers, so I can imagine how disappointing this has been. To that end, I'd like to see how I can help going forward.
First, I do have a few suggestions to try for lowering ink consumption. To start, I recommend using the printer's draft mode, as this can often improve ink usage. Following that, you could also set the printer to print black and white only.
If you find you're still using quite a bit, Instant Ink might just be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans, as they're based on how many pages you print monthly. If your printer usage is minimal, Instant Ink also offers a subscription plan that allows you to print 15 pages a month for free. For more details, you can visit this link: HPinstantink.com
If you have any other questions or concerns, please remember you can reach out to us for support anytime. We're always happy to help. You can contact us directly via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

No way to set default to print black-and-white
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is this so HP can sell us more expensive ink? I spent on a half hour with geek squad, they confirmed that there is no setting that will allow black-and-white printing.

I can certainly understand why inconsistent performance would be tremendously frustrating, especially if you rely on the device for important business or personal needs. Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd printer. I returned the 1st printer for the same issue. Both printers start leaving stripes on full-color prints after only using the printer about 5 times.

Posted .Hi Billy,
I'm so sorry that you experienced stripes on your prints with two 7855 printers in a row, especially as the second was a replacement. With what you described, it sounds like the issue at hand is related to print quality, so I suggest following the guidelines listed in this improvement guide: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05584456
Otherwise, I hope that you'll allow us another opportunity to help. You can give us a call at +1 800-474-6836 between the hours of 8 am - 9 pm ET. To expedite the process, you can gather these beforehand:

We look forward to making this right and, again, sincerest apologies.
