    Hit and Miss

I needed to replace my laptop and didn't have the money to get exactly what I wanted. After spending time reading reviews on the laptop its self along with the processor, I decided this one should work. I asked the assistant at my local store if it would suit my needs and he felt like it would. I play a simple browser based game that is very low intensity and this machine struggles to function. Additionally, simple websites lag very badly and do not run smooth at all. In terms of startup speed and running the machines software, it is quite fast, but lags trying to get on the start menu from time to time. I'm extremely disappointed with my purchase and would only suggest this to someone that doesn't use internet.

Unacceptable levels of fan noise and heat

Probably sending this one back. Everything is great except fan noise is unbearable and heat generation is incredible. Don't know how it made it to production with these two major problems.

I have an older Envy which I LOVE, but had to retire. This one has lots of nifty tricks but not nearly enough USB ports AND it turns off every time I unplug the USB nearest the on/off switch. I do like that the touchpad is narrower though.

Been back 4 times for repairs

Purchased in June of 2015, and have been back 4 times for repair. First to replace fan. Second for 'ghost prints' on the touch screen. Third for failing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reception. Fourth for continued reception problems, whereby the Geeks completely scrubbed my system, figuring it was a software problem. It is now January 2017, and after all this, it still has Bluetooth problems (icon freezes every minute or so, mouse disconnects for no reason, etc..) I'm running on HP warranty for a year, but even if I would have paid for Geek Squad protection, they will only consider it a lemon if the same problem crops up 3 times. My fear is that after June, I will have an expensive doorstop. I've had good computers in the past, but this one took a side trip through Hades. Meanwhile, I rely on an old Toshiba to get me through the day. No problems there. I would avoid this model, or be sure to buy Geek Squad protection for an extended roller coaster ride.

    No hard drive?!

Living on an Island I do not have access to Best Buy. I ordered my laptop online to have it delivered to my house. I paid expedited shipping (which did not come on the arrival date, but 1 day later) only to have it arrive, and turn it on to have it say ,"there is an error and we are fixing it. We will restart your computer." Once my computer restarted, 2 things showed: hardware/driver error and driver not intended for this platform. Now, not only can i not get a hold of customer service, I have to load this up and return it, because what Best Buy am I gonna take it in to? And how am I guaranteed my money back? Because I have to give at least 1 star, it's because it arrived and it turned on. I would only recommend this product if you have a Best Buy nearby to fix it, because there have been many great reviews. I sadly am not one them.

have had this laptop now for 3 months I bought it because was told by salesperson could up grade ram up to 16 gb . Went and got new memory sticks for it guess what you are stuck with the 8 it comes with . You only have one slot. If you need or are going to need more than 8gbs of ram do not buy.

    Screen washout during dark viewing

I purchased this new model, no reviews yet, so I thought I'd give it a try. In the store it seemed real nice, fast, great sound, picture, nice keyboard, all the things I need. I get home, start it up for the first time, and it looks like someone has flashlights shining from the top down. Terrible screen. I thought, STOP! take it back. Again... another bad product purchase from Best Buy. I purchase a lot from Best Buy for my company, and personal needs, lately the products have been subpar. I think I will try a new supplier for my purchases. When I got the box, it looked like it had slid across the floor, but then I asked for a different one, they all looked like that. Not good handling of the products.

    Restarts randomly and without warning

Right out of the box this computer restarts unexpectedly, without warning, and without first sending to blue screen. I already tried the troubleshooting steps provided by the HP website and am now spending (wasting!) the entire night doing a hardware scan from HP's own BIOS. I have already done all the updates available. This is my first AMD machine and probably my last! I'll be exchanging it for an Intel machine.

    Wasn't built well

This is the worst laptop I every purchased and only my second laptop. The first six month of purchasing I had to send it in because one of the two speakers went out and the two speakers are at the bottom of laptop "stupid" with beats audio and its sound horrible my note 4 gets louder then my hp. Now my battery is missing up and wont stay on for more then 15 minutes and its internal not just a easy switch. I brought this because it was a 2 in 1 and touch screen and was on sale compared to the toshiba. Toshiba was my first laptop and that thing was strong.

    Not satisfied

So I went to Best Buy and didn't know much about computers so I was eager to learn and ask questions. I was helped by an associate who knew a lot about computers, so after about an hour we picked this one. I told her I would need it for school and editing photos and videos song would need good battery life. DO NOT buy this unless you want to use it mainly as a desktop. The only way I could use this is by having it plugged in constantly. As for the associate who helped me, she was still training and sold me a completely different computer.

This laptop was very slow. It only has two usb ports, which feel cheap and not durable. Nothing slides into the usb ports without a struggle. I got a ton of window errors, and every time I got on google I got scripting errors. Pages and programs were constantly not responding. I am returning this after 6 days. I will not be taking my chances on another hp envy, I will be switching to something else.
