I did not like OneDrive being the default drive.

When I fired up the computer, I copied all of the files from my old computer to the new one. Then, the computer immediately began uploading the files to OneDrive. Since I had more than 5GB of data, I kept getting prompted that the drive was full and to pay for more storage. I did not want my files on OneDrive and I did not like it that I didn't have the option not to use it. I did end up deleting a bunch of files so that I would be under the 5GB cap. Why have a 256GB hard drive when you have to pay to use it?? My nephew figured out how to make the computer's hard drive the default drive and I disconnected the computer from OneDrive. Then everything worked fairly well. And, I would have been satisfied with the computer, except for the internet connection. I would have to re-establish my internet connection once or twice a day. I make several calls a week on Zoom and the internet connection was unstable for those calls. When I switched back to my old computer, everything worked fine. Because of those issues, I decided to return the computer. I liked the way the computer looked and the feel of the keyboard. I loved the fingerprint sign-in. I detested the way I was forced to use OneDrive as the default. I have had about 4 HP computers over the years, but now I'm switching brands. I do not like the manufacturer dictating where to store your files. I also had an unpleasant experience when I returned the computer to Best Buy. The guy in customer service didn't have any interest in hearing what I didn't like about the computer. Companies need to know that it's not OK to force those kinds of things on consumers. All-in-all, a bad experience for me.

I bought 2 of these laptops, one for my husband to replace his old one and the other one for my daughter. Excellent purchases and both of my husband and daughter loved it. It was so fast and very easy to install and upload everything. I definitely recommend this computer to a friend.

This laptop works well and delivers everything I need. I use it to edit videos and photos. Extra storage is definitely needed so I grabbed an external hard drive as well. Thank you to everyone at the Best Buy Pearl City location!

We bought this for our 7th grader to use during distance learning. The computer isn't able to handle running the minimum requirement for him to attend school. He is using my older Surface for the zoom classroom and the laptop for doing the school work through the cloud.

High performance at a good budget price. Really like this machine a lot. Touch is great and love the fingerprint unlock instead of needing a password. Plenty of ports, fast start-up, and not loaded with a ton of bloatware. Really nice screen too.

Bought this in the store a month before my 2nd grader virtual learning schOol start. 1st day of virtual learning using Microsoft teams meeting the mic was not working. I checked the setting and no microphone can be found. I called hp and did installed the driver. 2nd day- loud annoying buzzing noise lasted 30 mins. Then lunchtime i called best buy and transferred to tech but no help at all. Called hp and said the buzzing Noise was from an app that i’m using. (Yup blame it on the app) Tried using the laptop in the afternoon and started buzzIng again while my son was doing virtual. Took about 30 mins to stop. Called hp again, uninstalled And reinstalled the driver again. 3rd day, no mic available and started buzzing again. Same as 4th day and today 7th day its still having a problem. So frustrating that this kept happening. Of course we can’t return or exchange because 15-day policy. It’s already sad my kid doing virtual And this laptop is making it worst! Buying this Hp Envy was one of the worst purchase ever! Went to see manager at bestbuy today 9/16/20 and got no help. What a WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY! GOODBYE BESTBUY AND HP!! Do not buy this!

We did a lot of research looking for the best value in a laptop that would be future-proofed for a while. Although this computer won't be used for heavy processing like gaming, we felt like it would have a longer life with a quality processor and SSD. The style and function of this computer has been great so far.

Well, it started ok, but in the few days of my starting to use up until geek squad came to set it up and just the day before I called for the Geek Squad to help me out, due to the lap doing some goofey things. We thought they had fixed the issue, but it is back to where we started.

Great laptop, I’ve had the Envy before and have nothing but good things to say. This one has a fingerprint scanner and while it’s great when it works, there are occasions when it doesn’t until I restart the laptop. A simple restart usually fixes this though.

I bought this laptop in January 2020 because I had read that it is great for college students. After having it for 3 months, the laptop would overheat, make loud fan noises, and shut itself down after placed on sleep mode. I take good care of my laptop and only use it for homework, notetaking, and watching videos. I contacted the HP customer support and they downloaded some updates...that resolved the issue for a while. Three weeks ago the computer began to have the same issues. Again, I contacted customer support, and this time they told me that I'll need to send my computer for repair. They ended up replacing two fans AND THE MOTHERBOARD. How can a computer need a motherboard replacement when is not even a year old? I have my computer back and it still makes loud fan noises, and the battery doesn't last 8 hours as the description of the product says. I'm very disappointed.

This machine is just great. It is so much better and faster than my old windows 7 machine. It is very easy to use. I still don't know what all it will do, but it's fun trying to find out. Anybody wanting a good laptop needs to investigate this one, it's well worth the price.

It is a well made laptop. Sturdy and very edgy, sorta sharp feeling around the edges. Keyboard’s got good travel and well lit. The touch screen feels very responsive but only when the battery is put on performance. When it’s on battery saver it’s still responsive but there’s a slight lag.

I purchased this computer 60 days ago and for the first time I tried to participate in a Zoom conference and the microphone would not work. I tried to reinstall the drivers, because the error code 10 indicated the microphone was not connected. I could not get it to install, so I took it to the Geek Squad at the Tuttle store in Columbus. The member of the Geek Squad told me that she had experienced this issue on several other computers of the same model. She spoke with the manager Samantha and was told they would exchange the computer but would not move the data without charging me $100. I would think that since they sold me a defective computer they would move the data without charging. Samantha send me to the computer department to find a comparable computer. The store did not have a comparable laptop in stock and they wanted me to pay another $200 for a different computer. They did not even offer to order a similar device. The service at this store did not met my expectations. I had been a customer of Best Buy over 30 years purchasing TVs, networking equipment, computers TV remotes, and printers and have never received such poor service as I did today. Best Buy has lost a dedicated customer of over 30 years. I finally called HP and they have been unable to get the microphone to work. I was told to rest the Bios, do a system restore, attempt to reload the drivers and nothing has worked. Finally after 5 hours on and off the phone with HP they tell me this is a know issue and I will need to reinstall Windows 10 and that they are sending me a software kit to aid me in doing the install, that is going to take another 3 days and I will have to call them back so that they can walk me through it. Oh, forgot it cost me another $49 to get a service contract to fix the software. We will see what happens in four days. This computer purchase has been a nightmare. Best Buys poor assistance and HP's inability to rectify the problem with their poorly designed computer.

This product seems to fit my needs, which are few while having the possibility of doing so much more. I love the back-lit keys and the ability to "tent" it. These are of course just some physical features. The ability to log on with a fingerprint is nice, and the keys are light touch
