A very sharp looking laptop. The backlit keyboard is easy to read because the keys light up. Screen is very sharp and it came with a 7200rpm hard drive(not a 5400rpm drive that is listed in the specs in BB website). I also got a usb 3.0 to gigabit Ethernet adapter(J5 Create brand) . The sound is good and it is very quiet. When you add Geek Squad protection they will do the initial setup and put an anti virus program on it at no additional charge.

Replaced a 5 year old HP when the HD started failing. Wanted the latest technology anyway so worth the upgrade. Turns out that the CPU in this one is much slower than what I had because it is designed for low power consumption. Hard drive is also slower. Definitely would not have purchased it had I known.

This is a great notebook. Love the touchscreen and backlit keyboard.

I needed a laptop for class, but if I was going to spend my hard earned cash, I was going to get one I wanted worth the price. I found that in this, especially since it is a 2 n 1. Plus, I bought and installed a 250 GB SSD, which makes the laptop start in seconds among other things. A great laptop for way cheaper than a gaming laptop, even after the mods.

This is my first time writing a review for a product I've purchased at Best Buy. That's very telling. My disappointment in this product has driven me to do so. I bought this laptop back in August. I bought it, brought it home, and while I could hear the laptop running, the screen was blank. I called an HP representative and we tried a few things to get the screen on, but to no avail. It's bad when an HP representative tells you that a brand new machine shouldn't be running a certain way. I went back to Best Buy and got another one. They tested it for me before I left. Everything was fine. Issues: 1. I noticed that if I'm in class and have too many tabs open, my laptop fan goes nuts. If you like to do a lot of web surfing, movie watching, and want to have lots of tabs open at one time, this is not the laptop for you. 2. My trackpad has been finicky and sensitive. You know how you highlight a paragraph in Office or your web browser and you can do it either to the right or the left? Good luck doing that once your trackpad starts behaving erratically. I try it and the highlighted text flashes. The Best Buy guy fixed it but two days later, here we are again. 3. The voice recorder and internal mic are horrible quality. 4. Scrolling up and down is impossible when the trackpad issue occurs. Get used to using the enter and arrow keys. HP, I am so disappointed in you. I had an entertainment laptop from them a while ago and it lasted for a while. With this purchase, I was looking for something that could do what I needed it to and was lightweight. I don't know how long this is going to last if it's already giving me so much trouble.

I read reviews before buying this product and most people said it was a very good product. However, upon purchasing the product, the mousepad was a bit off. While it later calibrated itself, there was one LARGE problem. The laptop only has a vent on the bottom of the laptop, so if you plan to use the product in its laptop shape form, it begins to heat up fast and very easily. If you plan to use it as a tablet and want to risk folding it every once in a while, maybe it's a well off product for you. I had to return it and then exchanged it for a more costly product, the Spectre 15.6 inch.

I bought this laptop before starting my freshman year of college and it was the worst decision. My parents could not afford to buy me a laptop for college, so I save my money to afford to buy my own. Ever since I got this, the keys are inconsistent, the track pad is broken, and the wifi goes down quite often. I did take it to geek squad and get it fixed. However, when I got it back, different things were wrong with it than before. Everything else was fixed. Now I am stuck with a laptop that has 3 USB ports and only one of them works and different keys that are highly inconsistent. I am stuck with this worthless laptop because I cannot afford to purchase a new one. I wasted my money on what I thought was a great purchase, but was really the worst. I recommend getting one of a different brand or even a Mac Book. I paid as much for my Envy as I would have for a brand new MacBook.

Brand new, right out of the box, and it boots with cooling fan error. Had to wait for this to arrive in store and now have to deal with the hassle of the return. Seriously considering another manufacturer. Really disappointed in HP that they don't even test before shipping. I've been a very loyal HP customer in the past who's about had it with this brand.... anyone over there at HP have pride in their product? Certainly does not appear that way.

New out of the box and touch screen was not working. After an hour with HP tech guy in India, he sad can not be fixed without senior techs and in the store! Computer does not recognize the touchscreen! Seriously!?! Terrible experience after high hopes! Wasted 2 hours of my life setting up this peace of scrap metal! HP...never again!

We researched laptops and decided to go with this HP envy. When the demo laptop at the store was booted up, it said there was an error with the cooling fan and it wasn't working properly. The salesman assured us that it is just because they are left on full time and constantly running... We bought the laptop, took it home, and tried to boot it up. As soon as we did, the error message appeared on the screen of the brand new laptop. We returned it to the store immediately. We did not receive an apology for the inconvenience.

I bought this laptop about 4 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. I tried again and again to take it in or call HP, but there has been no luck. As I write this, my laptop is trying to get fixed and I don't expect it to be any better when I get it back. I tried very hard to get a refund, but I guess 4 months is too long, oh well I'll be stuck with the $1000 debt. Please do not purchase.

Im from Ecuador and i bought my computer online. when i pick up the computer in Best Buy store i tell the girl that was something wrong with the sound, she told me that i have to download the controllers of soud and install it again. It doesnt work i have to submit my compliance to HP and they told that my model is not available in my country. I am too angry with best buy staff!!!
