Don't buy this piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought one of these at the black Friday sale on Thanksgiving 2017. This first one we bought wouldn't allow us to install software and clearly had a hard disk issue. The second laptop had the sound stop working after two weeks. After trying to fix it myself (I'm an IT Professional) I engaged HP support who work on it for 3 hours and finally gave up and suggested that it was a hardware failure that they wanted me to ship it in. I've purchased several HP Envy models in the past from Amazon and Best Buy before with no issues at all. But this model is clearly just junk. Buyer beware.

Motherboard fried in one year.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a this laptop last year before black Friday, and 2 days ago found out the motherboard fried. I called HP customer service and was on the phone for nearly 2 hours before they told me it would cost $600 to repair since the warranty expired a week and a half prior. I was very disappointed with the customer service and would not recommend HP.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop (HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bp011dx ) September 4, 2017 and going into its 3rd month and now having keyboard issues. The shift key plus another key does not work with particular letters or numbers, it is not intermittent but constantly happening when using shift keys with particular letters or numbers, for example, pressing shift key plus letter Q works, but pressing shift key plus letter m does not work. I always getting locked out of my passwords due to this issue and also had lot of typos. I have called HP support for multiple keyboard/mouse related issues, was offered by HP to have it repaired but it would take a minimum of 7 days to have it shipped and back to me. Really frustrated with this laptop, minimum of 7 days without the laptop is not really acceptable. They should just send me a replacement since this is not even 3 months since I bought it, considering I also bought the 3 year HP care pack.

Good Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a very good Laptop, after you have installed all the recommended updates.Runs smoothly and very fast. Only drawback is that it's not provided with Office 2016 which is a normal trend nowadays, but only a trial version of Office 365. Hope later installations come with it.

Great Laptop but---
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought HP for years at Best Buy. They are the best. I love this laptop. It has back lite keys if needed on the key board for dark use, great screen and everything you need in a laptop So why am I giving this laptop an average score ? I believe it has a design flaw on the metal frame. When you put your finger on the bottom side, it is sharp enough to give me a paper like cut on my finger. Ouch. It is on both sides from the front bottom to the back sides. I went into Best Buy and spoke to the Geek squad and they were happy to exchange it for another HP but they were all the same sharpness. So, because it took so many hours with all of my apps to get back up to speed, I kept it. Still a happy Best Buy customer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this latop on Black Friday. One week in and the hard drive makes funny sounds. Mousepad Problems, No Support.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life while surfing is good, can play many games at lower settings, touch works well. It is a little heavy, and it feels cold or warm quite a bit depending on if you're just picking it up or been playing something on it for a while.. Speaking of cold. When it's cool to the touch, in a house that's kept at 72, the mouse freaks out. Left and Right clicks, drags, opens things, all by itself. I've sent videos to HP, nothing. ended up filing a BBB complaint. I've bought nothing but HP for about a decade now. Completely unhappy on the lack of service. The mouse, when tapped lightly, I have no reason to try to beat the mouse through the machine, "bounces" about an inch lower than what I want to click on. I am full aware I can use a mouse, however, this is a LAPTOP, which means it's on my lap. The thing should work, and work correctly. I wouldn't buy another one, I've actually looked at new ones. I've had this a year. It's been a disappointment all the time.

Breaks easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve only had the computer for 4 months. The other day I went to close it and the left hinge of the screen didn’t close properly and shattered the screen and separated the back from the screen. Went inside the store and noticed that the laptops on display had the same issue.

Nice screen, gets little hot and fans blast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the screen brightness very clear, gets little hot and fans blast on to keep machine cool causing noise and hot surface. this also impacts battery performance.

Good laptop with one fatal flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is not a bad laptop, but I can't recommend it due to one fatal flaw: the screen attracts an unbelievable amount of smudges. I've had touchscreen laptops before, including a 2015 HP Envy, and I've never had this problem until I encountered this laptop. The screen is incapable of staying clean for more than a minute or two. Even if you don't use the touchscreen much at all, somehow it's always covered in smudges, and they don't clean off particularly easily. It's incredibly annoying and distracting. I've never seen anything like it on any phone, tablet, or laptop. Overall, the laptop runs great. But at the same price point, you can find other machines which won't annoy the heck out of you on a daily basis.

Ok but annoyed at performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this model thinking it would be such a great upgrade from my previous 7 year old laptop. While its better looking and has the touch screen it is not any faster for downloading documents than my old one. I am completely annoyed that HP provided a power cord that is, by their own admission, substandard for the device. I get a message every time I turn on the device that informs me if I want it to run optimally I should buy a better power cord. What?!? I just waited 10 minutes for updates to install. No way should there be that many updates to install in that amount of time. Plus it installs updates every time I turn it on. I've owned it for less than 30 days and already want to shop for a new computer.

I hate this laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is awful. It works fine one minute, and then terrible the next. My office functions and all my applications keep crashing, it restarts and shuts off at random times while doing my college school work, and if you are on it constantly the battery life lasts a MAXIMUM of 3 hours before I have to plug it back in. I have had it for 5 months, and I have already came to the conclusion that it was not worth the $900. You can get a $300 laptop to do the same stuff this awful thing does.

DO NOT BUY!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst PC purchase I have ever made. 1st issue...every time we woke it up (when it would wake up...more on that later) I would get the screen letting me know that the power adapter that came with the machine was wrong and I should find a more suitable one. I could never get a straight answer from HP support regarding this issue. I was told to wipe machine clean to factory settings and hope that worked. 2nd. The machine rarely woke up from sleep mode. The settings for sleep mode wakeup were set up correctly. It would not wake up. We had to turn the machine off and on from the power button. Not a great fix, but we needed to use the PC for after work hours. 3rd. The power button was never really great. In the end (5 months after purchase) the power button got stuck. I took it to Geek Squad (who I give 5 stars) tried to fix it, but in the end it I was informed that the power button is included in the board so I would have to repair/replace the board at a price of $600. I bought an ASUS the following week. I will never purchase an HP product again. On a side note the ACER Chromebook we purchased at the same time of the HP for $220 works GREAT. Another good company to look at for PC's
