Customers are saying

Customers recognize the high-quality ink and ease of use associated with the Instant Ink 100-Page Monthly Plan. Many appreciate the affordable price point for the convenience it offers. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain printers and found the monthly page limit restrictive. The plan's value proposition is centered around ink quality and convenience, but compatibility and page limitations are potential drawbacks.

I am disappointed with HP on this product. I was supposed to get 3 months free with instant ink and then an additional month free with the purchase of printer but HP's site would not allow me to continue my registration for this trial. I am very dissatisfied with this service.

I purchased this for my satellite office printer. What a disaster. Rushing to print documents for Court and in 3 hours, printing was stopped and basically put on hold FOUR times while ink level and pages printed information was uploaded. I cancelled the service immediately.

I was having trouble with getting my brand new printer to connect by Wi Fi, so tried to reinstall the printer and got a message that this Monthly Plan had discontinued itself without me doing anything but try to fix my connection. Not worth the trouble

Terrible. I received a new bank card and my printer stopped working despite the cartridges in it having LONG since paid for themselves. I’ve been paying $7/mo for a couple years and hardly print a thing just enrolled for the convenience of not having to run to staples if something ran out. Updated the payment information, 4 hours later still can’t print. 40 minute call with customer service…still can’t print. Obnoxious program, extortion. Terrible customer service, even the supervisor could do zero to help, aside from open a case and tell me they’ll contact me in 3-5 business days. No thanks, I’ll cancel, go to kinkos for this, and grab some ink that you can’t remotely turn off over a year after I paid for it because my billing info needs updating

this is promoted as a savings on ink, it is the most expensive option per page for ink. it is convenient if you just was extra expensive ink shipped to you after your usage being monitored over the internet by hp or best buy

I have ordered 2 printers from Best Buy and both were defective. The first had a broken print wheel. The second was missing the glass tray and was clearly a used product.

I didn't realize how much printing I did in 1 month. I will be better off without this plan. You have to have the right ink to go into the printer since once you cancel the plan, the ink is automatically stopped.

I do not like subscription services especially something when I just go to the store and pick it up when I am actually out of ink. Not like the things I have heard through this HP Instant Ink Subscription Service.

I would not recommend the HP instant ink as if you do not use your printer all the time, you get charged a monthly fee, cannot use your printer when needed, have to call as the cartridges have a chip and will not allow any printing

Ink is a ripoff, I refill my own. Just make sure to do your research. If you need photo archival quality there are better inks out there for less than this.

Be aware of the pricing per sheet that is charged. Also be aware that if you cancel the service you will no longer be able to use the ink cartridges that were sent to you as they are programmed to the service

I have been using HP's Instant Ink Service subscription for about two months now after getting a free printer and trial period of the ink refill service to review. So far, I have printed many pages and not needed an ink refill, other than the first set of them sent for me to have on hand. They also provide a postage paid bag to return the empties so now that I did that, I am awaiting my new back-up set. The ink is very easy to change and the system has been flawless so far. I receive regular emails form HP alerting me to how many pages I have printed and where my ink levels stand. They will automatically send more ink when I need it. It's a very affordable price at just $2.99/month and worth it if you use the printer regularly. I do not alway print in color so I have not needed monthly replacements but it would be a great deal for someone who prints even more.

    Saves money and so convenient

Love this plan! Even the bargain refill cartridges I priced at the cartridge store would cost me as much as one year on the 50 page plan, and even the XLcartridges only lasted a few months. (They claim they have as much ink as the 'real thing', but I was beginning to wonder.). Customer service has been wonderful, and when they had a connection issue that caused some issues with printing, they credited me with 30 extra pages for the inconvenience without even being asked. Love the idea of not having to worry about running out of ink. Love the idea of pages rolling over as some months I print more than others. Love the idea that if I need to print more some month I can get 15 extra pages for only $1 and even those roll over if I don't use them all! Love that I can change plans at ANY time if I need to. I print coupons that cannot be reprinted, and if I ran out I would lose the coupon. So of course I would replace the cartridges to avoid that problem, of course losing ink. That will no longer be a problem! Have not had to replace cartridges yet, so I am hoping they come well before ink runs out. If that works, I wish I could give more than 5 stars! BTW, I didn't get the printer because of instant ink (it was a super Black Friday deal), but I'm glad I got this!

When I picked up my new HP printer in the store, they gave me this card instead of a $10 card. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told $5 is the only free ink card they have. Pointless to argue.
