Customers are saying
Customers recognize the high-quality ink and ease of use associated with the Instant Ink 100-Page Monthly Plan. Many appreciate the affordable price point for the convenience it offers. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain printers and found the monthly page limit restrictive. The plan's value proposition is centered around ink quality and convenience, but compatibility and page limitations are potential drawbacks.

INSTANT INK SCAM
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEWARE INSTANT INK SCAM. I purchased an HP Envy 7640 a few years ago from Best Buy. The product was sufficient for my needs until I needed to update my credit card info on the instant ink website to continue my subscription earlier this year. I was unable to login and keep receiving an error message that there was a problem with the website. Tech support was useless. Several months later there is still a problem with the website and now I am unable to scan due to a "busy" error despite no jobs pending in the queue. The problem exists on my MacBook and Surface.so it is not computer issue. HP pronters are beholden to Instant Ink and you become a prisoner. I now looking for a non-HP printer and will be visiting Best Buy soon.

BEWARE: Bait and switch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This program is a classic bait and switch. It seems convenient but the software and the customer service are terrible. The sensors for ink levels are inaccurate so you will run out of ink even though they won't have sent you a new cartridge. Or, the new cartridge might not be in stock. If you cancel because of your bad experiences, they make it so your printer will not print using the instant ink cartridges, even if you have paid for them for months. We used to swear by HP printers. Now, they are more interested in scamming consumers than providing good products and services.

HP INK is VERY Disappointing.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the WORST! The whole purpose of signing up is to receive ink before it runs out! Printer was not printing in black. I called HP Ink (50+ peeps on hold before me) & tech told me I still had ink??? Ok so it's printing in color but not black (but yeah I still have ink?). They finally send me a new cartridge..ya know for this great service they offer (that never works until you are literally out of ink & have to call & complain that you need more). And lo & behold my printer now prints in black again.

Waste of time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pain to set up. Worked with the initial cartridges, but when I went to replace with the first set of full size cartridges they sent me, the printer would not allow me to print because it said I "wasn't enrolled in HP Instant Ink program". Called HP Instant Ink Support and have been on a chat with them for an hour now. They can't figure out why my computer won't recognize that I'm registered and they can't correct it. So now I'm sitting here with full ink cartridges in my printer, but can't print. Buy your own ink and don't waste your time with this program.

DO NOT ENROLL IN THE HP INKJET PROGRAM …
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.…if only a family user with unpredictable printer page count each month!! Loved my HP photo pro max printer 8720 but the salesman failed to mention that the HP instant ink program requires you to FOREVER be a dolla-dolla-dolla every month member!!! From 2018 to 2021, I never exceeded the monthly paper count and was sent one set of cartridges (did not even receive the black cartridge-only the color ones) which cannot be used unless I sign up for their ridiculous program! Shameful! Shameful! Shameful! If Best Buy can make this right by making my printer not have to use this ridiculous program, I’ll gladly retract my less than stellar review.

instantink keeps your printer HOSTAGE-read review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Garbage. After the 8 months of ink promo, hp instantink keeps your printer hostage and won't allow you to print UNLESS yousign up for their subscription plan!!!! Or, you have to buy new cartridges and install, thereby throwing away perfectly good, half-full cartridges. Even though you still have ink in the cartridges. Pure extortion. I can see them getting suedin the near future. This is some shady s*** Never buying hp again. TERRIBLE UX. AVOID!!!!!!!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP really dropped the ball with this service. i received one refill 12 months ago and when i called after waiting forever to connect to a person. i was promised a shipment. it never arrived so i had to buy ink. A few months later i called and after 45 minutes they promised to send out ink and it never arrived. So i had to buy more ink. finally i called after a year of being hit with $3 a month i called to cancel and get a refund they offered me one month fee.. haha what a joke. I had to beg them to cancel. dont get wrapped up in this the pain isn't worth it. and it is not a convience

Setting up "instant ink deal" up is ridiculous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I called HP to set up instant ink deal but they were no help at all. He suggested that I should go back to Best Buy and have them refund the $2,99 instant ink charge. Like I'm going to drive there for $3.00. Do not get "talked" into this stupid ink deal!!!!

What They Don't Tell YOu
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you join this program HP Insta Ink say you can cancel whenever BUT when you do they lock your printer so you cannot use the ink cartridges you paid for. You will need to buy a new set to replace the ones you have - even though they are still good.

I"ll never buy HP again.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have six cartridges sitting unused. Then I am charged an additional fee for using too many pages. When I cancelled my subscription I was informed that the cartridges I have will no longer work after the contract ends. I PAID FOR THOSE CARTRIDGES and now I have to return them unused because HP is going to throw a switch. I called customer service to be informed that I was not paying for the cartridges but for "pages used." I will NEVER buy another HP product again.

HP Envy Pro printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It forces you to stop everything you're doing and order more ink, enduring a long process before you can print off anything with your current ink levels. I normally would not complain about this setting except for the fact that my account has an error that maintains I haven't ordered more ink. This is not convenient when you need to get something done in a timely manner. If it weren't for this I would have a better rating to give.

HP Instant Ink = Stuck w a blank page
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP Instant Ink is a big Risk It may be a money save but if HP Instant ink does not send the new ink on time you are frozen the printer will not work if it is not one of there certified instand ink cartridges. Run / dont walk away from this offer, you will be left in 'blank zone' when you need to print something and cannot because either the software has frozen your printer or laptop or because you do not have their certified ink sent to you - even buying a real HP ink cartridge from Target or elsewhere will not help you

Rip off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After signing up for this, I quickly realized I wasn't as much of a high-volume ink user as I thought. So, I cancelled my subscription after a few months. Unfortunately, what I didn't realize is that once you cancel, any HP Instant Ink cartridges you have (even full), no longer work. They basically hold your printer hostage unless you remove the cartridges or enroll in Instant Ink. This is BS since I paid for those cartridges that they will no longer let me use. Stay away from this so-called deal.

HP can remotely turn off your ability to print
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to cancel my debit card last week after my information was stolen. I'm working on a huge project right now and won't be able to trek to my bank until next week. HP has turned off my ability to print. I get their business model but this is a huge inconvenience. It really was easier for my to just buy my own ink. If I run out, I just use the spare I keep next to the printer and buy more when it is convenient. With HP, I can spend an hour on the phone to solve the most basic of problems.

Broken System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds great until you are out of ink and HP still says everything is good and charges you for faded prints. Now I know their system is badly broken - it is supposed to send ink early and it waits until you call to complain. We are now in the middle of school with no way to print and the new ink cartridge 7 days away in the mail. In addition, as soon as you sign up, they disable printing using normal cartridges. Poor decision making form whoever designed this system.

DON'T DO IT!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DON'T DO IT! If your looking for a printer thay will monitor how much you print and up the pricing this is the printer for you. When I first purches this printer I was told I get a year worth of free ink. That was a lie. They attempted to charge my card because they claim I was printing more than allowed. Then after I refused to make the payments they shut off my printer. I would never buy or suggest anyone to buy this printer.

Horrible, unpredictable service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible service. First, sent us more ink than we needed. Then, we have inconsistent printing needs so one month we didn't need any printing but the next month we had over 700 pages so had to pay extra even though it was a "free 6-month trial" period. Finally, when my credit card inadvertently expired, it LOCKED my printer and I couldn't print anything. The fact that HP can remotely control my printer is HORRIFYING!

Doesn't support once monthly charges kick in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally really helpful, after my first cartridge ran out we received a new one right in time to keep printing. Once the Prepaid amount ran out and monthly charges started I realized it was not tracking my ink level accurately, and listed it as not needing replacement. After enough recurring payments that would have covered a new cartridge and no fix/support found on their site for this issue, I just had to cancel. Great honeymoon period, straight to cancel once it wears off.
