Customers are saying

Customers recognize the high-quality ink and ease of use associated with the Instant Ink 100-Page Monthly Plan. Many appreciate the affordable price point for the convenience it offers. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain printers and found the monthly page limit restrictive. The plan's value proposition is centered around ink quality and convenience, but compatibility and page limitations are potential drawbacks.

Paying for INK AND per page to Print is a JOKE!

This printer: HP Office Jet Pro 8020 is the worst ever! I thought it would be comprable to the C6180 All-In-One - that I had for many, many years. The 8020 WILL NOT stop printing double-sided pages. NO ONE at HP has been able to make it STOP. Paying for the HP Istant INK is a NEVER ENDING financial suck. It's like having BIG BROTHER breathing down my neck and I'm paying him to watch me! OVERALL - keep moving - this printer and this ink service is the worst!

    Frustrated

I was printing alot at the beginning, say 500 pictures a month. So over the course of a year I continued paying printing less. I was sent ink. I changed to a lesser plan, still wasnt printing as much. So I cancelled. A month later I went to print my sons essay and because I cancelled I am no longer able to use the ink. Even though I feel I have already paid for it. This is in your terms. I will.now have to go buy more ink.

    Terrible program.

I do not recommend this program. HP monthly plan is nothing more than a money grab and no ink is ever sent. When I ran out of ink I had to go to the store and get more. I called HP to complain and ask for my ink. They refused saying I had ink, yes I bought it. I asked for a refund of my money they refused again. Asked for a manager and they refused refund and ink. Terrible program. If I could give a 0 stars I would

Be ware if you cancel the ink will no longe work

If you are under the print amount they still charge you the 25 a month but if you go over they will charge 60 without notice. When you cancel subscription and have ink cartridges left like I do they have to be used before the end of the cycle or you will have to throw them away because they no longer work even though they have been paid for so no thanks.

HP Instant Ink - Big Mistake

    Posted .

I recently purchased a new HP printer from Best Buy and was excited to try HP's new Instant Ink service. BIG mistake. The replacement cartridges I received LEAKED all over my desk! After a week of phone calls, emails, and broken promises I finally gave up. HP never sent me fresh cartridges. I canceled the program and will go back to buying ink cartridges from Best Buy.

Unexpected Response with Cancellation of Services

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Please beware that once you no longer want instant ink service because it doesn't accommodate your lifestyle, HP will want you to buy new cartridges to replace the current cartridges in your printer. Everything is good until you no longer want to continue service with them. They will defer back to the original contract to put the blame on you and incur the profit loss with the remaining ink. This is unacceptable.

    HP Ink program

I barely print. after months of paying for nothing I canceled they tell you must return the old cartridge. there is a form to request a return envelope, but it keeps telling me to "Correct" my address. Its a very simple address and there is nothing wrong with it. I will end up with a extra charge for the cartridge.

BE VERY CAREFUL before you sign up for automatic cartridge replacement! The cartridges are programed to stop working even if they are full of ink!! This is fine if you are aware, but if not you will be very frustrated when you realize someone else is controlling your printer!!!!!

    Stay Away

We've had this service for a long time and every time we need a new ink cartridge we have to call or chat with them for 45 minutes convincing them to send us a cartridge. Probably paid in 100+ and can't get a new cartridge.

Instant Ink is a rip off

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Difficult to get any value from Instant Ink so I cancelled it. Then HP disabled my printer so that it would not print - error message said that I could not print with Instant Ink cartridges that I had paid for many times over. Have to call HP support to figure out how to fix. You're better off buying your own ink as you go.

      Hello Gunther,

I'm so sorry for the misunderstanding, but your printer is probably just fine.

Instant Ink is very different and so can be a little hard to understand. While your subscription was in force, you paid for pages printed. That can be a very good deal, especially if you print a lot of photos and other things that require a high DPI and lots of ink.

Once you cancel a subscription, the cartridges you were sent will not work. You paid for the pages printed, not the cartridges themselves.

The printer will work just fine with cartridges that are not from your expired subscription.

    Not worth it

Stopped working after about 6 month. Requested new ink and never got it. Tried to cancel and was billed for 3 additional months before HP finally loosened their grip on my card. Do yourself a favor and skip this. I am so disgusted with HP I will never buy a printer from them again!

Don't Sign Up for HP INK

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Don't do it! Buy your own ink. If, by chance, you do go to a higher page print AND do not receive ink that would justify that higher page print amount, it doesn't matter. No customer satisfaction guidelines in place at all.

    Buyer beware

HP has a way to disable the cartridge you have already bought from them if you decide to discontinue the auto ship monthly program. So you have paid for the cartridge but they have a way of disabling it when you decide to discontinue. I stopped trusting HP as a company after it happened to me.

      Hi Jess,

I'm very sorry to hear that your experience with Instant Ink didn't go as expected. I can imagine how disappointing this must have been. With that said, I would really like to address this and provide some clarification about the usability of the printer after your account was canceled.

When enrolled in Instant Ink, the cartridges that are provided are an integral part of that service. After service cancellation, they're deactivated and unavailable for use without active enrollment. However, if you are to use other HP cartridges not intended for Instant ink, you can print freely.

After canceling, the specialized Instant Ink cartridges will stop working at the end of your final billing cycle, and you will be billed for your final payment. At that time, you can insert traditional HP cartridges from your favorite retailer to keep printing as you were.

For any further questions or concerns that you might have, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Instant Ink support team for more assistance. They would be more than happy to help, so you can give them a call whenever convenient at +1 855‑785‑2777.

Stay away from hp Instant Ink. There are a million options to sign up for the service, but NO WAY to cancel. My hp printer is now at the recycling center. I would leave zero stars if that was an option.

HP can and will remotely disable your printer, which you paid to own, which is INSANE. I am livid with this program. If you try to cancel your subscription the cartridges which you also paid for will stop working.

Never easily worked. From the minute we put cartridge in, the unit started experiencing printing difficulties. Repeatedly had to remove and reinstall cartridge. When gave up on service, paid for additional month to finish out and printing capability immediately shut down.

Do not buy instant ink, because when you cancel your subscription they will hold you hostage and you will not be able to print again, unless you sign up with them again. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!

If you're printer can't connect to your WiFi because your router doesn't have a WPS button this service is absolutely useless. If you're internet is down you can't print. Just don't do it. Get a laser printer.
