I have always been an HP fan but this one is being boxed up and sent back today. Every morning I have to waste my time trying to get it out of offline mode, not an easy task. Absolutely ridiculous!

This printer will not print unless it is connected to HP through the internet. No direct WI-FI print! This tactic is employed to get you to subscribe to their ink subscription service.

If you stop paying the subscription, the printer stops working. Subscription is just under $12 month. That’s $144/year for an occasional print at home. May be a good deal for an office, but a dirty trick to play on households.

Used a printer cord to connect to the computer. Worked for a week and now it will not print. Just makes a little noise like it wants to print. No information available on what to do. Printer specs say W-Fi or cord connection. I do not want a W-Fi connection

HP M209dwe B&W LaserJet printer I’m the first to admit that I’d fallen victim to the InkJet carousel for the past couple decades. You know, manufacturers’ printers are absurdly inexpensive, but what you end up spending on ink is quite the opposite right? I made the leap a couple years ago on a multifunction color laser costing more than double. Once you switch to Laser printers you’ll unequivocally never return to ink jet. Well here in 2021 we consumers are the true beneficiaries of readily affordable LaserJet printers, with drastically better print quality, toner lifecycles, and reduced cost. The Hp M209dwe isn’t the first, but is definitely the best I’ve tried thus far. I believe they’ve achieved tremendous cost savings removing the lcd screen commonly found on printers, and offloading tasks that require confirmation (like setup) to the free Hp Smart app. Setup really is a breeze, plug it in, open the app, supply your Wi-Fi password and voila, AirPrinting from iOS and Android devices within minutes. Pros + easy setup + diminutive size + Hp Smart Print app + 30 pages per minute + 600 dots per inch quality + double sided full duplex printing + Hp+ 6-months free toner program + print quality is better than color black printer + network connection on Hp M209dwe more reliable Cons -ink program requires credit card on file -no screen for input and feedback (app only) -no document feed tray Conclusion Only dedication is 1/2 star for lack of a screen. Solid. Recommended buy
