Pros: good color, speed, options for install and functionality. For a big(ish) machine it gives off little to no heat while powered on continuously. Great overall print quality for text & documents. Cons: quite noisy when actually printing, HP Smart hub is not as user friendly as I think it should be, input screen is very small so some setup is hard (tiny keyboard buttons), not real good for printing photos. Overall a good machine with lots of functionality, and after many years of frustration of ink-jets drying up too quickly (living in AZ desert) this lasts longer than what I've had in the past. I had this same line (one model lower) previously though, and it stopped working properly in under two years ...so this is technically a replacement that I'm hoping outlives its' 2 year Geek Squad protection (however that was not due to drying out). One difference I've found is that I can't seem to locate how to assign an email address to this new one which was a nice function I like on the previous model (278-281). If it is still there I haven't found it yet in the HP Smart hub. The toner seems to last long enough for what we need. And while it takes up more real estate than I'd like...it isn't TOO big and clunky considering it prints, copies and scans at a level that a small business would be happy with and I'm using it in my home. In this day and age of so much being paperless and digital, actual printers may be in the twilight of their usefulness, but it is still a need when you have kids in school and especially now while working from home so much. But given the point about printers and their current place in the world, I think that this product may have been a bit overpriced too. Overall I'm happy with it...as long as it outlasts my warranty this time.

AS far as the printer goes itself, it is solid. Does the job well, imaging was right on, and apparently the ink is supposed to stretch across 1300-1400 sheets, so we''ll if that's true, but I have likely already printed at least 75 sheets and the quality is great. There is also a touch screen that is small but easily functional. I haven't had to use it much though as the device is like a smart device and detects what you are trying to do and adjusts. I must also mention, the setup was probably the easiest out of the box setup I have ever done for a printer. No disk drives, no cords, it was WONDERFUL -- just plugged it in and found my Wifi network in seconds. I was able to print directly from my Mac and as well as my Android phone without installing any drivers or software, again, a major plus. The toner and ink cartridges all came pre-installed so it was just a plug and print type deal. Apparently the toner is supposed to last 12-18 months and I hope this is correct because MAN the toner is expensive! Be ready to spend a minimum $70 for replacement toner...and that is the only con I would bring up. Nonetheless, it is a significant step up from the more basic printers out there so you get what you pay for. Either way, I am surely keeping this one for my business at home!

I just purchased and started using the printer. It does a wonderful job. It was easy to set up but I recommend verifying whether multiple drivers were installed. I followed the instructions and that installed the printer specific driver, and the computer (Windows based in a docking station) also installed a set of drivers for the printer series. I discovered after a bit that it started adding some additional pages of different syntax, etc. after each document I submitted for printing. I went through the connection services on the app and within a few minutes HP called me and in a very short time identified the cause as the 2 drivers. We got the generic printer series drivers the computer pulled removed and confirmed the printer specific drivers were present. It has been printing great ever since. Color printing is awesome, the scan feature is really easy to use and then save the document to the computer. Overall I am very pleased with this printer. I thought I should add that the printer is currently on sale at BestBuy. I paid full price a week ago, noticed the price drop and via the BestBuy App chat was able to communicate with an agent and within a few minutes BestBuy refunded the difference. That was super easy. They have been wonderful to work with as has HP.

Quality of the prints are top notch. This printer seems a lot quieter than the one it replaced (mfp277). My devices were able to find the printer automatically so there was really no setup needed. The scanning feature was easy to setup and use.

Easy setup. The printer is a little louder than I expected, however the speed and print quality is greatly desired. I do wish the manual document feed located on the front of the printer had a pullout tray to hold some of the papers. The automatic document feeder "tray" 1 works fine and holds plenty of paper for printing. It does what is promoted and handles printing well. I haven't worked on any major print jobs on this printer yet, but it appears to be powerful enough to handle the job. It definitely is less stress compared to working with ink jet printers worrying about if the ink head nozzle has to be cleaned again because the ink dried.

This printer so far has been excellent. The setup was very simple and quick. It connected easily with my network and was immediately recognized on the network by my laptop and iPhone, and printed from both devices. The quality of print is also excellent.

We replaced our old inexpensive Canon Inkjet printer with the HP LaserJet Pro M283fdw Wireless Color All-in-One Laser Printer. We use our printer every day, and we are SO happy that we decided to purchase a laser printer instead of an ink jet this time around. The images are sharp, the colors are vivid, and we can quickly print from our cell phones, computers, and our ipad. Set-up was surprisingly easy. Our only reservation would be that the printer is a little louder than you might expect when it is printing something. We love having a laser printer at home!

I have owned the HP LaserJet Pro M283fdw printer for over six months. It has performed flawlessly. Today was the first time I was notified that one of the cartridges was low. I knew that the original cartridges were not large capacity. I knew the cartridges were expensive. Despite the cost of cartridges I believe this printer is a better choice for me than inkjet printers. I have owned two inkjet printers with ink tanks to reduce the cost of supplies. Both of those printers developed issues within six months. So I have two useless inkjet printers in the basement. Getting a color laserjet eliminates the problem of the print jets clogging. I will gladly pay more to have a reliable color printer that I don’t have to worry about the ink drying out.

I have always shied away from laser printer due to the cost but I couldn't pass up a laserjet color print multi function machine for $369. This thing is amazing!!! Easy setup, wireless printing, hp email printing and COLOR for an incredible price. It's quiet, fast and print quality is great.understanding it's not a photo printer, the quality of photos on normal paper was above average. I couldn't be more pleased
