Printer was ok for my needs. Low cost and efficient

I am very pleased with my Laser Jet printer. It prints very beautifully and its super fast. The pages feed through really well. I couldn't be happier.

I was greatly disappointed with this printer. It gave me a lot of technical problems such as the poor quality of the work I printed by leaving incomplete or shaded sections.

The first one we bought actually started smoking when we plugged it into the wall outlet. So I took it back and exchanged it for another. Plugged it in and got an error code concerning the 'fuser'. Unplugged it right away to avoid another fire. Undoubtedly a bad manufacturing glitch in this model. I brought it back and bought the Brother laser printer. Up and running in 10 minutes, another 5 minutes and got the wireless printing function working.

I traded it in for a more functional printer for my needs

Smears ink on Silver labels and grabs more than one piece of paper.

We have only used this for a week or so and already too many problems it's printing jiborous all over pages. Geek squad worked on it for 3 hours. Still not working. I am returning it tomorrow

I had the printer for 3 months during that time it kept jamming and it kept printing odd shapes, like wing dings. I had to replace it. It was terrible

We have several of these printers in my office. It's a great and inexpensive printer for a smaller office. Easy to setup, relatively quiet. Overall, it's a nice printer for the price.

This printer is used by my employer, so I knew it was a good pick, however, once we brought it for home use, it was impossible to connect. The connectivity is via Ethernet or USB, but does not come with needed wires. The Wireless function is non-existent. It came with an installation CD, but my Air laptop (and most new technologies) does not come with a CD play, therefore, I had to find a download link via the manuals provided, which took quite a while with the instructions provided - not very user-friendly. The instructions provided had lots of technical jargon, most of which sent you on a rigamarole of going into settings, checking the downloaded file, then printing a test page, which fed you the same instructions as the user guide. Needless to say, after two hours of trying to find a clause for how to get connected without a cord, I gave up, and have succumbed to purchasing a usb cord. That is where I am now, still unable to get it to work. The 2nd star is only because I use it at work, and am aware of its capabilities, once it is running.

The software froze my computer continuously and HP customer service was harmful. They would not help without charging me in spite of this being a new machine. We have called 5 times and customer service is totally inept. They promise to call back and have never done so. HP customer service has definitely declined. This is a terrible machine.

The printer itself prints good quality documents and prints quickly. The issue i have with it is the "built in duplexing" requires you to manually flip the pages over, so essentially all it does is print the odd pages, make you manually move the outfeed paper to the bypass tray, then prints the even pages. In any sane persons mind this is not duplexing, literally any printer can do this. This printer was specifically purchased because it listed duplexing as a feature. Since it duplexes about as well as a dot matrix printer, it will be going back to the store.

Great Printer. Work horse. Replacement toner is expensive, but the printer is great.

Long time user (30 years) of HP printers, but this one (LaserJet M402) is going straight back. Have had numerous HPs that "played nicely" with MACs & iPADs, but there is nothing "plug & play" about this model. Have been messing with this for hours & love HP but would *NOT* recommend HP 402 to MAC users who wish to use AirPrint. Will make you crazy.

this printer is not very compatable with mac computers. i had to buy a usb cable and still have not had succuss getting the printer to connect. all troubleshooting help online is only for windows computer and not mac. i will be returning this item.
