Purchased as a replacement for my HP MFP-M278 which I destroyed by using non HP Cartridges that leaked. This is a workhorse with fast printing and excellent quality color output.

Replaced an HP mfp477 after failure from nearby lightning strike. Unit prints OK, fairly easy install on "home" network. Two things - - "feels" and "sounds" like low cost unit. Doesn't have the "solid" feel/sound I've always associated with HP - feel like I need to be overly gentle when opening panels, etc The 477 seemed of higher quality. ALSO.... "Compatible" cartridges for this machine not available (yet?). HP's high yield cartridges are in range of $200 each, and I don't see that the color is all that spectacular to warrant that cost. We had an HP Inkjet that died recently and finally decided to make the jump to a laser. This printer is fast, and does a good job with fax and scan functions. Would recommend it for sure.

The prints look so professional. It prints fast. The scanning works well when scanning to my computer or emailing. it works great!

I purchased this for my home office. It is simple to set up and is a workhorse. You can scan / print / fax and duplex. I defiantly recommend this for anyone doing home office work and more !

I am only had this printer for about 3 weeks and so far it has worked perfectly. HP has improved the setup... pretty easy to setup. I am very pleased with the purchase.

If you are considering a Color Laser this HP M479fdw should be on your list. It took me very little time to get this printer up and running on our wireless network. The wireless configuration is simple and the connectivity so far has been very reliable which is a major plus. One of the reasons I really like this printer is because it supports both 2.4 and 5 Ghz WiFi. If you have invested in a higher throughput 5ghz wireless router this printer can take advantage of it. Because this printer is replacing an existing HP printer I was able to add this printer to the Windows 10 laptops and desktops using the HP printer software already on the systems. I did have to load the HP app on the Android phones however the IPADs printed natively once the printer was found. Now anyone can print from any device they happen to be using at the time. The printer does all the standard functions like document feeding, double sided printing and copying, document scanning, and faxing quite well and is good or better than other like models that I have used. The speed that this printer wakes up, provides the print job and then goes back to sleep is impressive. It is a feature rich device and although I have not tried all the features yet those that I have tried have met expectation. Pros: • Reliable wireless network connectivity including 5ghz compatible • Easy to setup and use especially if you have used HP printers before • Prints reliably from every device anywhere on the network. We use IPADs, laptops, PCs and Android phones • Quality print and copy image both in black in white as well as color • Noise level while printing is typical, slightly quieter than an Inkjet nearby. • The printer does not seem to generate much heat during use, a plus for a small office. • The paper path is easily accessible should you ever have a paper jam. Things to Consider • The documentation that comes with the printer can be a little cryptic. If you want better instructions there are manuals and videos on HP.com that cover everything. • The second paper tray is more like a by-pass door that allows you to do one off print jobs without having to remove your normal paper tray. It is not big enough to be considered a second paper tray. • This printer is tall especially when you raise the document loader.

This was the perfect choice for me. The footprint is the most compact I found for a laser all-in-one. I am really pleased with the duplexing capability as well.

The best printer I have ever owned. Works great and easy to use. The printer cartridges last at least two years and the black even longer.

So far so good. Last several years I had a terrible luck with printers. This was somewhat more than I wanted to pay, but it works and it has been big help so far.

Very satisfied with my purchase. Easy to set up, and I love all the great features that help me to simplify my life.
